Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.

2018OjirehPrime Card

A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.

2020Microfinance bank

PrymeSolid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

T2 (9mobile) USSD codes: the full list

Every T2 (9mobile) short code we could confirm on T2's own pages and the NCC's harmonised list, grouped by task, with the old codes you should stop using.

The short answer

Most everyday T2 (formerly 9mobile) codes are now the NCC's universal ones: *310# balance, *311# recharge, *312# data plans, *323# data balance, *321# share, 303 borrow, 305 stop a service and 300 customer care. T2's own pages add *665# for Morecredit, *301# for sharing and transfers, *917# for Family Share and SMS "settings" to 790 for internet settings.

Why the codes changed

Until 2023 each Nigerian network had its own short codes, so the same task needed a different code on each SIM. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) then published a set of harmonised short codes that every operator, including what is now T2, must use. Its notice said the old network codes would co-exist with the new ones only until 17 May 2023. That is why older lists for 9mobile, such as *232# for balance or 200 for customer care, may no longer work.

The tables below include only codes we found on T2's own pages or on the NCC's list in October 2026. Where a code appears only in older material, we say so.

NCC universal codes (all networks, including T2)

*323#Data plan balance
2442Do-not-disturb (DND)
3232Mobile number portability (MNP)

Note that 301 is the NCC's voicemail deposit number, while T2's own page uses the USSD string *301# for its sharing and transfer menu. The star and hash make them different services; dial exactly what you need.

Codes from older 9mobile material

These appear on the older 9mobile homepage or in third-party guides. We could not confirm they still work on T2 in October 2026; try the universal code first.

  • *561#: listed on the older 9mobile homepage for Kwikcash lending.
  • *232# and *228#: older airtime and data balance codes, replaced by *310# and *323#.
  • 200: the older customer care line, replaced by 300.
  • *223*PIN*amount*number#: an older airtime transfer format; see transferring airtime on T2.

Using codes safely

  • No genuine T2 code asks you to type your bank card number or bank PIN.
  • Be careful with codes sent by strangers. A code that starts a transfer or subscription can cost you airtime.
  • Dial from the correct SIM on a dual-SIM phone.
  • If a code returns an error, check the asterisks and hash signs before assuming it has been withdrawn.

When a code stops working

Codes are withdrawn or changed from time to time, especially after a rebrand. If a code that used to work now returns an error or a blank screen, work through these checks before deciding it no longer exists:

  1. Retype it carefully. Most failures are a missed asterisk, an extra space or a hash sign left off the end.
  2. Try the NCC universal equivalent from the first table; it should work on every network.
  3. Restart the phone and try again. USSD sessions can fail when the network is congested.
  4. Check that the line is active and NIN-linked by dialling 996.
  5. Call 300 and ask whether the code has changed. Ask the agent to send the current code by SMS so you have it in writing.

A code for your own number

We could not confirm a current T2 code for displaying your own phone number on a T2 page in October 2026. Until you can, the simplest check is to call or text another phone and read the number on its screen, or look at the SIM registration message T2 sent you.

Saving the codes you use

Save the codes you use most as contacts on your phone, for example "T2 balance" with *310#. Most phones dial a saved USSD code when you tap it. It avoids typing errors and saves you searching for lists online that may be out of date.

For the details behind the codes, see checking T2 balances, Morecredit and customer care and escalation.

Where Pryme fits

Short codes are one way to recharge; an app is another. Pryme lets you buy airtime and data for T2 and other networks from your account (airtime and data) without remembering a recharge code. For habits that cut airtime and data spending, see how to stop wasting money on airtime and data.

Questions people ask

What is the code to check 9mobile balance?

Dial *310# for airtime and *323# for data. These are NCC universal codes and work on T2 (9mobile).

What is the 9mobile code to buy data?

Dial *312#, the NCC universal data-plan code, to see and buy T2 plans.

What is the 9mobile borrow code?

T2's Morecredit page lists *665#. You can also text STATUS to 665. The NCC universal borrow code is 303.

Do old 9mobile codes still work?

The NCC said old network codes would co-exist with the harmonised codes only until 17 May 2023. Some may still respond, but use the universal codes.
