Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to transfer airtime on T2 (9mobile)

How to share airtime and data from a T2 (9mobile) line using the menus on T2's page and the NCC universal 321 code, with checks before you send.

The short answer

To transfer airtime on T2 (formerly 9mobile), use the sharing and transfer menu on *301#, listed on T2's own page, or the NCC's universal share code 321. Older guides give a *223*PIN*amount*number# format with a default PIN, but we could not confirm that format, a default PIN or transfer limits on a T2 page in October 2026.

The routes that are documented

Airtime transfer, sometimes called share and sell or Me2U on other networks, lets you send part of your airtime balance to another number. On T2, the network that traded as 9mobile until August 2025, two routes are documented on official pages:

RouteWhere it is documentedWhat it does
*301#T2's data pageOpens a menu for sharing and transfers
321 (dialled as *321#)NCC harmonised short codes, 2023Universal code for sharing airtime and data on every network
*321*2#T2's data pageData transfer

Menu wording can change, so read each option before you confirm. Dial from the T2 line that holds the airtime.

Step by step

  1. Check your balance with *310# so you know how much you can send.
  2. Dial *301# (or *321#) and choose the airtime transfer or share option.
  3. If asked, set up or enter your transfer PIN. Choose a PIN that is not your birth year or 0000.
  4. Enter the amount and the recipient's number. Read the recipient number back to yourself digit by digit.
  5. Confirm. Both you and the recipient should get an SMS. Ask the recipient to check their balance with *310#.

About the old *223# format and the default PIN

Many websites describe a direct string, *223*PIN*amount*recipient number#, and say the default transfer PIN is 0000 until you change it. That was the format used on 9mobile in the past. We could not find it on a T2 page in October 2026, so we cannot tell you whether it still works or what the default PIN is now. If you try it, change any default PIN at once: anyone who picks up your phone can send your airtime away with a PIN everyone knows.

Sending data instead

If the person needs data rather than airtime, sending data can be better value, because airtime used for browsing outside a bundle costs more per megabyte. T2's page lists:

  • *321*2# for data transfer from your bundle.
  • Data gifting: dial a plan's code followed by the recipient's number. T2's example for gifting 1GB is *229*2*7*recipient's number#.
  • Family Share: activate with *917#, then allocate data to family numbers.

See T2 data plans for how bundles are priced.

Worked example

Example only. Tunde has ₦1,500 of airtime and his sister needs ₦500 for a call. He dials *301#, chooses airtime transfer, enters ₦500 and her number, and confirms. His balance should fall to ₦1,000 if no charge applies. If the confirmation shows ₦520 leaving his balance, a ₦20 charge applies, and the true cost of sending ₦500 is ₦520. Ask the recipient to confirm receipt before you assume it worked.

Transfer or buy airtime directly?

A transfer moves airtime you already hold; buying airtime directly for someone else uses money from an account or wallet. Which is better depends on what you have:

SituationBetter optionWhy
You have airtime, no money in an accountTransfer with *301# or *321#Uses what you already hold
You have money in a bank or walletBuy airtime for the recipientNo transfer PIN to manage, and you keep your own balance
The recipient is on another networkBuy airtime directlyAirtime transfers generally work within the same network
The recipient mostly needs internetGift or transfer dataBrowsing on airtime without a bundle costs more

On the third point: we found no T2 page describing transfers to MTN, Airtel or Glo numbers, so do not expect a cross-network airtime transfer to work.

Mistakes and disputes

Airtime sent to a wrong number is generally hard to reverse, because it is now in someone else's balance. Call T2 on 300 immediately with the time, amount and number, and ask whether anything can be done; there is no guarantee. If you believe the transfer failed but your balance was debited, ask T2 for a reversal and escalate to the NCC on 622 if unresolved (escalation steps).

Transfers you did not make

If airtime leaves your line without your action, change your transfer PIN, check for subscribed services with T2, and stop unwanted services with the NCC stop code 305. Look at who had access to your phone.

Where Pryme fits

If you have money in an account rather than airtime, it is often simpler to buy airtime directly for the other person. From the Pryme app you can top up any Nigerian number (airtime and data), and the purchase has a record you can turn into a receipt (receipts). If you send money to family regularly, see a monthly system for family bills.

Questions people ask

How do I transfer airtime on 9mobile?

Dial *301#, the sharing and transfer menu listed on T2's page, or the NCC universal share code *321#, then follow the airtime transfer option.

What is the default 9mobile transfer PIN?

Older guides say 0000, but we could not confirm a current default PIN on T2's pages in October 2026. If your line uses a default, change it immediately.

Is there a charge for 9mobile airtime transfer?

T2's pages we checked do not state one. The confirmation screen should show the amount leaving your balance; any difference is the charge.

Can I transfer data on T2?

Yes. T2's page lists *321*2# for data transfer, data gifting with the recipient's number, and Family Share through *917#.
