Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

T2 (9mobile) Morecredit: how to borrow airtime and data

How Morecredit on T2 (9mobile) works: the *665# code, the amounts, the 15% service fee and how the loan is taken back from your next recharge.

The short answer

On T2 (formerly 9mobile), you borrow airtime or data through Morecredit by dialling *665# or texting STATUS to 665 to see what you can borrow. T2's Morecredit page lists loans of ₦50 to ₦2,000 with a 15% service fee, and the loan plus fee is taken back from your next recharge.

What Morecredit is

Morecredit is the airtime and data loan service on T2, the network that traded as 9mobile until its rebrand was unveiled in Lagos in August 2025. The service page still sits on the 9mobile.com.ng domain and still uses the Morecredit name, so if you see either label, it is the same product. It lets a prepaid customer take airtime, or a data bundle, when the balance is empty and pay it back later.

According to T2's own page, Morecredit is "available to all pre-paid customers" and works over USSD and SMS on a mobile phone. The page does not publish a minimum time on the network or a minimum monthly spend. What it does say is that the amount you can borrow depends on your line, and you see that figure when you check your eligibility.

How to borrow, step by step

  1. Dial *665# from the T2 line you want to borrow on.
  2. Choose the option to check eligibility. The menu shows how much you can borrow at that moment.
  3. Pick airtime or a data bundle and choose an amount within the limit shown.
  4. Confirm. The airtime or bundle lands on your line, and the amount owed, including the service fee, is recorded against it.
  5. Alternatively, send the word STATUS by SMS to 665 to see your eligibility and borrowing limit without going through the menu.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) also set 303 as the universal borrow short code for all networks in its 2023 harmonised list. T2's Morecredit page, however, names *665#, so start there. If one code fails, try the other before calling customer care.

Morecredit compared with other ways to get airtime fast

Borrowing is one of several ways to get credit on an empty line, and it is usually the most expensive per naira. A rough comparison, using T2's published 15% fee:

RouteWhat it costs youWhen it suits
Morecredit (*665#)15% of the amount borrowed, recovered on next rechargeNo money to hand at all, urgent call
Ask someone to share airtimeNothing beyond what they send, unless a transfer charge appliesA family member or friend on T2 can send it
Top up from a bank or fintech appThe face value; some apps add no chargeYou have money in an account but no airtime
Buy a voucher from a vendorThe face valueYou are near a shop and have cash

If you find yourself borrowing every week, the fee adds up. Example only: ₦500 borrowed four times a month costs ₦300 in fees, which over a year is ₦3,600, enough for several weekly data bundles.

Amounts and the service fee

T2's page lists these airtime loan amounts: ₦50, ₦100, ₦200, ₦500, ₦1,000 and ₦2,000. You will only see the ones your line qualifies for. The page says you repay the loan amount plus a 15% service fee; for a data loan you repay the cost of the bundle plus the fee. These figures are as published on T2's Morecredit page, checked in October 2026; the menu on *665# shows the charge that applies on the day.

Loan amount (₦)15% service fee (₦)Total recovered (₦)
507.5057.50
10015115
20030230
50075575
1,0001501,150
2,0003002,300

How the loan is recovered

T2 says the loan is repaid on your next recharge. You can recharge with a voucher, an electronic top-up (from a bank app, a fintech app or a vendor), or airtime transferred to you by another customer. The page also says you can borrow more on top of existing credit if you need it, which means debts can stack.

Worked example

Example only. Chidi borrows ₦500 of airtime on Monday night. The amount owed is ₦500 plus ₦75 (15%), so ₦575. On Wednesday he recharges ₦1,000 from his bank app. T2 recovers ₦575 first, leaving ₦425 of usable airtime. If he had borrowed a second ₦500 before recharging, the total owed would be ₦1,150 and the whole ₦1,000 recharge would go to the debt, with ₦150 still outstanding.

Two practical points follow. First, recharge for more than you owe if you need airtime straight away. Second, the 15% is charged on each loan, so two ₦500 loans cost the same in fees as one ₦1,000 loan, but they leave you owing more than you may expect.

What to check first

  • Check your eligibility with STATUS to 665 before you need the loan, so you know your limit.
  • Make sure your SIM is linked to your NIN; you can verify the linkage with the NCC short code 996. See how to link NIN on T2.
  • Check your airtime balance after recharging (see balance codes) to confirm the recovery took the right amount.
  • If you were charged twice or the recovery looks wrong, call customer care first and escalate to the NCC if it is not resolved: T2 customer care routes.

Where Pryme fits

A loan is often needed only because the balance ran out at an awkward moment. With a Pryme account you can top up airtime and data for any network yourself from the app (airtime and data), and a Personal Assistant can remind you before a bundle runs out. Nothing is bought without your approval. For more ways to cut airtime costs, read airtime and data: how to stop wasting money.

Questions people ask

What is the code to borrow airtime on 9mobile?

T2 (formerly 9mobile) uses *665# for Morecredit. You can also text STATUS to 665 to see your limit. The NCC's universal borrow code is 303, but T2's own page names *665#.

How much does 9mobile charge for borrowing airtime?

T2's Morecredit page lists a 15% service fee. Borrowing ₦1,000 means ₦1,150 is recovered from your next recharge. Check the menu for the charge on the day.

Can I borrow data on T2?

Yes. The Morecredit page says data bundles can be borrowed as well as airtime; you repay the bundle cost plus the 15% fee.

Why can't I borrow airtime on 9mobile?

T2 does not publish the eligibility rules. Common reasons are an unpaid earlier loan or a line with little recharge history. Dial *665# or text STATUS to 665 to see what your line qualifies for.
