Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Banking how-tos

Keystone Bank mobile app not working: fixes to try

Keymobile won't log in, the OTP never arrives or transfers fail? Work through the likely causes, from device binding and PIN lockouts to limits.

The short answer

Most Keymobile problems come from four things: the app is tied to one device, so a new phone needs a fresh login with an OTP sent by SMS and email; three wrong PIN entries lock you out; the phone number or email on your Keystone account is out of date, so OTPs never arrive; or a transfer is above the low default limit. If none of these fits, it may be an outage: use *7111# for urgent transfers and call +234 700 2000 3000.

Keystone Bank's mobile app, which the bank calls Keymobile or the Keystone Mobile App, runs on Android and iOS. When it stops working, the cause is usually on your side of the screen, and you can fix it in minutes. This guide uses what Keystone's own Keymobile page says about registration, devices, PINs and limits, as read in October 2026.

Match the symptom to the cause

SymptomLikely causeWhat to try
Cannot log in on a new phoneThe app is tied to one deviceLog in with username and password, enter your transaction PIN, then the OTP sent by SMS and email
OTP never arrivesPhone number or email not registered or out of dateCheck both are correct on your account; contact the bank to update them

Transfer refused for amountDefault limit is lowRaise the daily limit in Self Service
App says you are not eligibleJoint, corporate or multi-signatory accountThese are not eligible for Keymobile; use internet banking or a branch
Everything was fine, then nothing loadsNetwork or bank outageCheck your data, try Zero Data Banking (Android), then wait or use *7111#

Device change and OTP problems

Keystone says each app installation is tied to one device. On a new phone you install the app, log in with your username and password, enter your transaction PIN and then the OTP the bank sends by both SMS and email. If neither arrives, the usual reason is that the phone number or email on your account is not the one you are checking. The Keymobile page says your email and mobile number must be registered with the bank to receive OTPs.

  • Confirm the line has signal and can receive SMS from short codes.
  • Check the spam folder of the email address you gave the bank.
  • If the number on your account is old, you will need the bank to update it before any OTP reaches you.
  • Restart the phone and update the app from the official store before trying again.

PIN and password lockouts

The Keymobile page says three wrong PIN entries lock you out and you should contact the bank. If you can still log in but have forgotten the transaction PIN, Keystone's steps are: open PIN Management, enter your account number and the last six digits of your debit card, enter the token sent to your phone, and set a new PIN. The login password must be at least eight alphanumeric characters; the transaction PIN is four digits and the default must be changed at first login.

Transfers that fail on amount

New users are often caught by the default limit. Keystone says registering with only your account number sets a one-off transaction limit of ₦1,000; registering with your account number and the last six digits of your debit card sets ₦50,000. The daily limit can be raised in the Self Service module using your transaction PIN, debit card, a token or an e-indemnity. If the in-app request is declined, Keystone says you must visit a branch and fill in the limit increase form.

Worked example

Example: Chidi registered with only his account number and tries to send ₦30,000 for rent. The app refuses because his one-off limit is ₦1,000. He re-verifies with his debit card through Self Service; under Keystone's stated defaults, card-based registration sets the one-off limit at ₦50,000, which covers the ₦30,000 payment.

Features that need the right setup

Some Keymobile features only work once something else is in place. Requesting a card needs an active account; activating a delivered card is done under Card Activation in Card services. Hiding your balance is a toggle in My Profile. If the app opens but a service is missing, check that your account is an individual or sole-proprietor account and that your profile was registered with your debit card rather than the account number alone.

When it is not you

If the app fails for everyone you know who uses it, it is likely an outage. For urgent payments, *7111# works on any phone, though Keystone's USSD page caps transfers at ₦100,000 a day. If money left your account during a failed transaction, log it in the app's Dispute Management menu or with the contact centre. Do not repeat the payment until you have checked your balance and alerts.

What to check first

  1. Is the app updated from Google Play or the App Store?
  2. Is your phone number and email on the account current?
  3. Have you changed phones? If so, follow the device-change login.
  4. Is the amount within your current one-off and daily limits?
  5. Is your account individual or sole-proprietor? Joint and corporate accounts are not eligible.

Where Pryme fits

OTP failures are a weakness of SMS-based security. Pryme uses an authenticator app rather than SMS codes, plus a transaction PIN; the security page explains how. Our explainer on authenticator apps versus SMS codes compares the two, and the *7111# guide covers Keystone's fallback channel.

Questions people ask

Why is my Keystone app not sending OTP?

Keystone sends OTPs by SMS and email to the details registered on your account. If either is out of date or the line has no signal, the OTP will not arrive. Contact the bank to update your details.

How do I move my Keystone Keymobile app to a new phone?

Install the app on the new phone, log in with your username and password, enter your transaction PIN, then the OTP sent by SMS and email. The app is tied to one device at a time.

Why does my Keystone app say transaction limit exceeded?

Keystone's default one-off limit is ₦1,000 if you registered with your account number only, or ₦50,000 with your debit card. Raise the daily limit in Self Service, or at a branch.

Is the Keystone app down today?

Keystone's Keymobile page does not offer a status page. Ask the contact centre on +234 700 2000 3000, and use *7111# for urgent transfers in the meantime.
