Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How develop-and-share deals with Nigerian landowners work, and the agreement terms that protect an investor who funds the build from abroad.
In a develop-and-share joint venture, a landowner contributes land, you (or your developer) fund and manage the build, and the finished units or sale proceeds are split by an agreed ratio. The investor abroad is protected mainly by the paperwork: a verified title, a written development agreement with timelines and default remedies, and a plan for Governor's consent, stamping and registration of each party's share.
Develop-and-share deals are common in Lagos, Abuja and other cities because they let a family with land but no cash, and a buyer abroad with cash but no land, build something neither could alone. They also go wrong in familiar ways: the title turns out to be disputed, the landowner sells the same plot twice, the build stalls, or nobody can agree who owns which flat at the end. This guide explains how the structure works and which clauses carry the weight.
A 2020 LeLaw commentary on Nigerian real estate joint ventures describes two basic models. In a contractual joint venture, a Joint Venture Agreement or Development Agreement alone governs the relationship: the landowner keeps the title, grants the investor rights to build, and both take an agreed share of units or proceeds. In an incorporated joint venture, the parties form a special purpose company that holds the land, and a shareholders' agreement governs who gets what.
The same commentary notes three common ways of sharing: a straight split of plots or units (it cites a 50:50 split of reclaimed land where each side sold its own plots), the developer keeping the sales margin while the landowner earns a fixed return, or all sale proceeds going into a joint account and being shared after costs. Profits usually follow what each side put in.
| Model | What you hold | Main risk for the investor |
|---|---|---|
| Contractual JV, units shared | A contractual right to named units, later an assignment of each unit | Title stays with the landowner until your units are assigned |
| Contractual JV, proceeds shared | A right to a share of sale money | Control over pricing, sales and the proceeds account |
| Company (SPV) holds the land | Shares in the company | Governance: who signs, who can sell, what happens on deadlock |
Under the Land Use Act, land in each state is vested in the Governor, and a holder of a statutory right of occupancy may not assign, mortgage or otherwise alienate it without the Governor's consent first obtained (section 22). Section 26 says transactions contrary to the Act are null and void. In practice that means a develop-and-share agreement on land with a weak or disputed title can leave you funding a building you cannot legally own.
Before any money moves, have a lawyer in Nigeria confirm who holds the title, whether it is a Certificate of Occupancy, a registered deed or family land, whether there are charges or court cases, and whether the plot is free of government acquisition. Our guides to the documents to see before paying and Governor's consent from abroad cover these checks in detail.
Most develop-and-share deals fail on money control rather than on law. Pay in stages against verified progress, not in one advance. A practical pattern is a dedicated project account, payments released only after a site report with dated photos or a surveyor's certificate, and a monthly statement of spend. Our guide to paying a developer in stages sets out how stage payments and escrow work in Nigeria.
If a developer sells off-plan units to the public as part of the project, Lagos law adds another layer. The Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority Law 2022, as summarised by Famsville Solicitors, requires developers to register and disclose projects and to keep a separate client account. Ask whether your partner is registered before you rely on presales to fund the build.
A Pryme Personal Account can hold naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, so stage payments can be made from the currency you earn, converted with Swap only when a milestone is due; the app shows the rate and the fee before you approve. Every payment can be backed with a verifiable receipt from VerifyDoc.ai, useful when you later need to prove what you paid. See multicurrency accounts and verifiable receipts.
Yes. A contractual joint venture or development agreement can allocate named units to each party. Each party's units should later be assigned and the assignment perfected with Governor's consent, stamping and registration.
There is no official ratio. It depends on land value, build cost and who carries the risk. Commentators describe 50:50 splits on some projects, but agree the figure only after valuing both contributions.
Assigning an interest in land held under a statutory right of occupancy needs the Governor's consent under section 22 of the Land Use Act. Some joint ventures hold land in a company to manage this, which needs its own legal advice.
Your agreement should forbid any further sale, mortgage or grant of rights, and your lawyer can register your interest where state practice allows. Without that, you may be left with only a contract claim.
