Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to port your T2 (9mobile) number to another network

How mobile number portability works for T2 (9mobile) users: moving your number out, moving a number in, what to sort out first and what to ask about.

The short answer

You can keep your T2 (formerly 9mobile) number and move to MTN, Airtel or Glo through mobile number portability (MNP); the request is made to the network you are joining, and the NCC lists 3232 as the universal MNP short code. Before porting, link your NIN, use up or note your airtime and data, and clear any Morecredit loan.

What porting means

Mobile number portability (MNP) lets you change network without changing your phone number. Your contacts keep calling the same number; it simply runs on a different operator's SIM. In Nigeria the process is overseen by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), which lists 3232 among its universal short codes as the MNP code for all networks.

People port away from T2 for coverage, data prices or a work requirement, and port to T2 for its bundles or because a family plan suits them. The process is the same in both directions: you deal mainly with the network you are moving to, often called the recipient network.

Before you start

  • Link your NIN to the T2 line and confirm it with 996. A line without a verified NIN may not be eligible. See linking NIN on T2.
  • Check balances with *310# (airtime) and *323# (data). Ask the new network whether any balance carries over; plan on the assumption that it will not, and use it up first.
  • Clear any Morecredit loan. An outstanding airtime loan is a debt on the old line; settle it before you leave.
  • Cancel auto-renewing services with the NCC universal stop code 305.
  • Note anything tied to the line: bank alerts, two-step login codes and business listings will keep working on the same number, but expect a short gap in service during the switch.
  • Postpaid users should settle any bill and check contract terms with T2 first.

Porting out of T2: the steps

  1. Choose the network you want to join and confirm that its coverage is good where you live and work.
  2. Contact that network through 3232 or go to one of its service centres with your T2 SIM and a valid ID. Ask exactly what it needs.
  3. The new network registers you with your NIN and issues a new SIM. Your T2 SIM keeps working until the port completes.
  4. You receive a message when the port is under way. Keep your phone on and do not do a SIM swap on T2 during this time. A message about a port or SIM change you did not request is a warning sign of fraud; see SIM swap fraud.
  5. When the T2 SIM stops working, insert the new SIM. Your number now runs on the new network.
  6. Buy a bundle on the new network and check your settings. The APN for the new network is different from T2's.

We could not confirm, on an official page we opened in October 2026, the current target time for completing a port, any fee, or how soon you can port again. Ask the recipient network these three questions before you start, and keep any reference it gives you.

Porting into T2

If you are moving to T2, the same rules apply in reverse. Contact T2 on 300 from another line, or visit a T2 experience centre with your current SIM and ID, and ask it to port your number in. After the port, use T2's settings (APN "9mobile", blank username and password, according to T2's data page) and buy a T2 bundle with *312#. Check coverage first: T2 said at its August 2025 rebrand that an infrastructure-sharing agreement with MTN Nigeria would expand its coverage, but local experience varies.

Choosing the network to move to

Porting takes effort, so check the new network suits you before you start. A practical test is to buy a cheap SIM on the network you are considering and use it for a week in the places you spend most time: home, work, and your usual route between them. Then compare:

  • Call quality and dropped calls at home and work.
  • Data speed at the times you use it most, such as evenings.
  • The price of the plan size you actually use, read from the network's *312# menu.
  • Customer care access: how quickly you reach a person on 300.

If the test SIM works well, you can port your main number and drop the test line, or keep both in a dual-SIM phone.

What you keep and what you lose

ItemAfter porting
Your phone numberKept
Contacts saved on the phoneKept, they are on your handset, not the SIM, unless you saved them to the SIM
Airtime and data balanceAsk before porting; assume it does not move
Bonus offers and loyalty rewardsUsually network-specific; expect to lose them
Value-added subscriptionsTied to the old network; cancel them first
Bank SMS alerts and OTPsContinue to the same number once the port completes

If the port stalls

If the port takes longer than the recipient network told you, or your old SIM stops working before the new one starts, contact the recipient network first with your reference. If it is not resolved, the NCC accepts escalated complaints through its 622 toll-free line, by email to consumerportal@ncc.gov.ng, or its online complaint form. The NCC's procedure expects you to complain to the provider first. Details are in T2 customer care and NCC escalation, and the MTN version is in porting an MTN number.

Where Pryme fits

Your Pryme account is not tied to your network. Logins use an authenticator app rather than SMS codes (security), so changing network does not interrupt access. Once you have moved, you can buy airtime and data on the new network from the app (airtime and data).

Questions people ask

How do I port my 9mobile number to MTN?

Contact MTN through 3232 or visit an MTN service centre with your T2 SIM and ID. MTN handles the request; your T2 SIM works until the port completes.

What is the code for porting in Nigeria?

The NCC lists 3232 as the universal mobile number portability code for all networks.

Will I lose my airtime when I port from 9mobile?

Ask the network you are joining. Plan as if the balance will not transfer and use it up first, and clear any Morecredit loan.

How long does porting take in Nigeria?

We could not confirm a current official target time in October 2026. Ask the network you are joining and keep the reference it gives you.
