Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Sending Nigerian transcripts to WES from the US

How a Nigerian university sends your transcript to WES in a sealed envelope, what WES charges for employment evaluations, and how to avoid delays.

The short answer

WES needs your Nigerian transcript sent by the university itself in a sealed envelope with the WES Academic Records Request Form, plus a photocopy of your degree certificate, according to its University of Ibadan help example. You get the form from your WES account after you apply. WES's employment evaluation fees start at $118 for a document-by-document BASIC report (page modified 18 November 2025), and the university's own processing time is the part that usually takes longest.

For most Nigerians in the US, the slowest part of a WES evaluation is not WES. It is getting a Nigerian university registry to produce a transcript and post it, sealed, to New York. This guide explains what WES asks for, what it charges, and how to manage the university side from abroad, as read in October 2026.

What WES asks for

WES's US help centre uses the University of Ibadan as an example. The steps are:

  1. Submit your WES application and note your WES reference number.
  2. Log in to My Account and select "View Required Documents" to download the Academic Records Request Form.
  3. Send the form to your university, and ask the university to send your transcript and the form together in a sealed envelope.
  4. Send WES a photocopy of your degree certificate.

The key rule is that the transcript must come from the school, not from you. A transcript you open, scan or carry loses its value as an official record. Check your own required-documents page, because requirements can differ by institution and by the type of evaluation you choose.

What WES charges

WES's page for employment applications, modified 18 November 2025, lists these fees. Evaluations for school admission or licensing may be priced differently, so check the page for your purpose.

ItemFee
Document-by-Document, BASIC$118
Document-by-Document, ICAP$171
Course-by-Course, BASIC$186
Course-by-Course, ICAP$239
Upgrade$53
Standard delivery$14
Sealed envelope$9
International courier$86

Extra copies and faster delivery

The same page lists faster delivery at $19 (3 to 5 days), $28 (2 days) and $42 (1 day), and a duplicate report at $58 if ordered with the application, or $35 later for ICAP reports. An update to an existing report is $92. If you expect to need reports for several employers or a licensing board, ordering duplicates at the start is cheaper than ordering them later.

The page does not give a processing time. WES's clock effectively starts when it has every document it needs, so a late transcript delays the whole report.

Managing the university side

Each Nigerian university runs its own transcript process, usually through its registry or exams and records office, with an online request and a fee paid in naira. Our guide to getting a Nigerian university transcript from the US covers the general process. For WES specifically:

  • Send the WES form with your request. The university must include it in the envelope. Upload it if the portal allows, or have a representative hand it in.
  • Give the exact WES address and your reference number. Copy them from your account, not from an old email.
  • Ask for tracked courier. A tracking number lets you show WES when it was sent.
  • Check your names. If your name has changed since graduating, send WES proof of the change, and make sure the university uses the name on your records.
  • Ask about the degree certificate. WES wants a photocopy from you, so keep a clear copy of the certificate.

If the university is slow

Ask a trusted relative or friend near the campus to follow up in person, with a signed authority letter and a copy of your ID. Keep every receipt. If the registry says it cannot release the transcript because of unpaid fees or an unclaimed certificate, settle that first, since WES cannot help with it.

Common reasons for delay

ProblemHow to avoid it
Envelope arrives without the WES formSend the form to the registry and ask them to confirm it is inside
Envelope opened or resealedNever collect the transcript yourself; ask for direct courier to WES
Name mismatchSend WES proof of any name change before the transcript arrives
Wrong reference numberWrite the WES reference number on your request to the university

A sample timeline

Example: Ngozi opens a WES Course-by-Course BASIC evaluation for a job offer and pays $186 plus $14 standard delivery, $200 in total. She downloads the form the same day and sends it to her university's transcript office. Her cousin pays the transcript fee in naira and follows up weekly. The transcript is posted by courier and WES marks it received, and the evaluation begins. Her total WES cost is $200 before any extra copies.

Where Pryme fits

You pay WES in dollars and the university in naira. A Pryme multicurrency account holds USD and NGN, so you can pay the transcript fee or a relative's travel costs with Send, after seeing the rate and fee the app shows. If WES also asks about school-leaving results, see WAEC or JAMB result verification for WES.

Questions people ask

Can I send my own Nigerian transcript to WES?

No. WES's help example says the transcript and the WES form must be sent in a sealed envelope from the school.

Where do I get the WES Academic Records Request Form?

After you submit your WES application, log in to My Account and select "View Required Documents".

How much does a WES evaluation cost?

WES's employment page (modified November 2025) lists $118 for Document-by-Document BASIC and $186 for Course-by-Course BASIC, plus delivery. Check the page for your purpose.

How long does WES take for Nigerian transcripts?

WES's fee page gives no processing time. The wait usually depends on how quickly the university sends the transcript.
