Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

BruceCareYour competitor down the road sells the same thing you sell. The difference is who walks in. We put money in people’s hands that can only be spent in businesses like yours — and then we point them at you.
You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Money sent home for a house was spent elsewhere. The recovery routes, from a demand letter to court and police, and the controls that stop it again.
If a relative spent money you sent for building, start with a full written account and a formal demand letter; if that fails, a civil claim is usually the route, and in Lagos the Small Claims Court hears liquidated money claims of up to ₦5 million. Police or EFCC involvement fits only where there was deliberate deception. For the next project, pay suppliers directly and release money stage by stage against evidence.
Many diaspora building stories go wrong in the same way: money goes to a brother, cousin or family friend who is managing the site, the photographs stop, and a visit home shows a foundation where there should be a roof. Before deciding what to do, establish the facts. Some of the money may have been spent on the house at inflated prices, some lost to genuine cost rises, and some taken.
This sum, written down, is the basis for every option below. It also matters within the family: a clear figure is harder to argue with than a sense of betrayal.
Most of these disputes are settled within the family, often with elders involved. If the relative admits the gap, put any repayment plan in writing: the amount owed, the instalments and the dates, signed by both of you and, ideally, witnessed. A written acknowledgement of a debt is valuable evidence if you later need a court.
If talking fails, a letter of demand sets out what was sent, what it was for, what is owed and a deadline for repayment. A Nigerian lawyer can send it on letterhead, which tends to be taken more seriously. In Lagos, the Small Claims Court process itself starts this way: the 2023 Practice Direction requires a Letter of Demand (Form SCA 1) giving the other side 14 days before a claim is filed.
Under the Lagos State Practice Direction on Small Claims Court 2023, designated Magistrates' Courts hear liquidated money demands of up to ₦5,000,000 (excluding interest and costs), where the claimant or defendant lives or does business in Lagos or the cause arose there. After the demand letter, the claim is filed on Form SCA 2 with supporting documents, and the Practice Direction targets no more than 60 days from filing to judgment. Edo State has a similar court with the same ₦5 million ceiling. Check whether the state where your relative lives has one.
Above the small claims limit, the claim goes to the State High Court through a lawyer. Expect a longer process and legal fees; ask any lawyer for a written fee estimate before you instruct them. Our guide to hiring a Nigerian lawyer from the UK explains how to check one.
If your relative is in Nigeria, a UK judgment still has to be enforced there. A June 2026 Mondaq guide by a Lagos firm explains that judgments of UK superior courts can be registered in Nigeria under the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Ordinance 1922, usually within 12 months of judgment, for a fixed money sum. That route suits large sums; for most family cases, suing in Nigeria is simpler.
A criminal complaint fits where there was deliberate deception from the start, such as fake receipts, a fake land sale or money obtained with no intention of building. The EFCC's remit covers financial crimes, public and private. A report can bring pressure, but it does not by itself return your money, and a family dispute that is really a disagreement about spending is unlikely to be treated as a crime. Our Nigeria library explains how to report fraud to the police and EFCC. This article is information, not legal advice.
| Control | What it stops |
|---|---|
| Pay suppliers and labourers directly | Money passing through one person's hands |
| Release money stage by stage against photos, video and an independent visit | Paying for work not done |
| A written agreement with whoever manages the site, including a fee | Confusion about whether they are helping or working |
| Receipts for every purchase, checked against a bill of quantities | Inflated prices |
| A separate account used only for the project | Building money mixed with other spending |
| A second person who reviews spending | One unchecked decision-maker |
Our guide to budgeting a duplex build from the UK sets out the stages to pay against.
With Send you can pay a cement supplier or a labourer directly instead of routing everything through one relative, and verifiable receipts, made with VerifyDoc.ai, let anyone check that a receipt or statement is unaltered. A record like that is the evidence a demand letter or a court needs.
Yes. A civil claim is the usual route. In Lagos, money claims of up to ₦5 million can go to the Small Claims Court after a 14-day letter of demand; larger sums go to the High Court.
The EFCC handles financial crimes. A report fits where there was deliberate deception, such as fake receipts. A dispute about how money was spent is usually a civil matter.
You can, but a UK judgment must be registered in Nigeria to be enforced, usually within 12 months of judgment under the 1922 Ordinance. For most family sums, suing in Nigeria is simpler.
