Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to apply for a KiaKia loan: steps and requirements

What KiaKia asks for, how an application moves from sign-up to payout, and what to read in the offer before you accept a KiaKia loan.

The short answer

You apply for a KiaKia loan inside the KiaKia app: register with your phone number, verify your identity with your BVN, add a bank account in your own name, then request an amount and read the offer before accepting. When we checked the FCCPC approvals list in October 2026, KIYA BITS LIMITED appeared with the "KIAKIA P2P APP". The app shows the current amount, charge and repayment date before you commit.

What KiaKia is and who runs it

KiaKia is a Nigerian digital lending app. On the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) list of approved digital money lenders, the entry reads KIYA BITS LIMITED with the app name "KIAKIA P2P APP". That list page was last modified in March 2026 and we read it in October 2026. The "P2P" in the name points to a peer-to-peer model, where money from people who fund loans is matched with borrowers through the platform, but the terms you sign are what count, so read who the lender is on your own agreement.

Being on the FCCPC list matters because the 2025 digital lending regulations require lenders who serve consumers through apps to register with the Commission. Reporting by Nairametrics in June 2026 put the number of fully approved digital lenders at 505. A name on the list is a starting check, not an endorsement of the price. Our guide to checking a loan app on the FCCPC register shows how to search it yourself, and Is KiaKia legit? looks at the company in more depth.

What you will usually be asked for

KiaKia, like most app lenders, decides from data rather than paper forms. Expect the app to ask for the following during sign-up. The exact list can change, and the app is the place to confirm it on the day.

  • A phone number that you control, ideally the one linked to your BVN, because one-time codes and loan messages go there.
  • Your Bank Verification Number (BVN), which lets the lender confirm your name and date of birth against bank records and look up your credit history.
  • A bank account in your own name for the payout. A name mismatch between the BVN and the account is a common reason a payout stalls.
  • Basic personal and income details: address, employment or business type, and roughly how much you earn each month.
  • A selfie or photo ID if the app asks for extra identity checks.
  • A repayment method, often a debit card or a direct-debit mandate on your account, so the lender can collect on the due date.

Read the permissions the app requests on your phone. The 2025 regulations limit how lenders may use a borrower's data and contacts, and a lender has no need to read your contact list to judge a loan. If an app insists on access you are not comfortable giving, you can stop at that screen.

Steps to apply

  1. Download KiaKia only from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store listing, and check the developer name before installing. Copycat apps with similar names exist for many lenders.
  2. Create an account with your phone number and confirm the code sent to you.
  3. Enter your BVN and personal details. Check that the name shown matches your bank records exactly.
  4. Add the bank account that should receive the money, and the card or mandate for repayment if asked.
  5. Request an amount and a term. The app then shows what it can offer you, which may be less than you asked for.
  6. Read the offer screen in full: principal, total interest and fees, total repayable, and the repayment date or schedule.
  7. Accept only if the total repayable fits your next income. After you accept, the money is sent to your bank account; the app shows the status.

Reading the cost: a worked example

App lenders state their charges in different ways: a flat fee, a monthly rate, a daily rate or an annual percentage rate (APR). The same loan can look cheap or dear depending on which one you are shown, so convert everything to "how many naira do I pay back in total". The rates below are an illustration only, not KiaKia's figures; see KiaKia interest rates and limits and the app for those.

ExampleAmountCharge stated asCost over 30 daysTotal to repay
A₦40,00010% flat for the term₦4,000₦44,000
B₦40,0000.5% per day₦6,000 (₦200 x 30)₦46,000
C₦40,0006% per month, plus ₦1,000 processing fee₦3,400₦43,400

In example C the processing fee is taken into account even though it is not called interest. If a fee is deducted from the payout, you also receive less than the headline amount while still repaying on the full figure. Our explainer on APR versus flat fees covers how to compare these.

Why an application may be declined or reduced

  • Your BVN details do not match the name or date of birth you entered.
  • Your credit history shows unpaid or late loans with other lenders, which licensed credit bureaus share with lenders.
  • The income or account activity the lender can see is too thin to support the amount.
  • You already have an active KiaKia loan, or several loans elsewhere.

A smaller first offer is common with app lenders. Repaying on time is usually what moves a limit; our guide on growing a credit limit explains why.

What to check first

  • The lender name on the agreement, and whether it is on the FCCPC list on the day you apply.
  • The total repayable in naira and the exact due date.
  • What happens if you pay late: extra charges, and how the lender says it will contact you.
  • How to reach KiaKia support and where to complain; see KiaKia customer care and complaints.

Where Pryme fits

If what you need the money for is everyday spending such as groceries, a pharmacy run or transport, Pryme customers may be offered a limit for Loans on Spaces, lent by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank and spent only with merchants in Spaces. The amount, cost and repayment date are shown in full and nothing is drawn until you accept.

Questions people ask

Is KiaKia approved by FCCPC?

When we checked the FCCPC approvals list in October 2026 (page last modified March 2026), KIYA BITS LIMITED was listed with the "KIAKIA P2P APP". Lists change, so check the FCCPC page yourself before borrowing.

What do I need to get a KiaKia loan?

Expect to need a phone number, your BVN, a bank account in your own name and basic income details, plus a card or mandate for repayment. The app confirms the current requirements.

How long does KiaKia take to pay out?

The app shows the status after you accept an offer. KiaKia does not publish a payout time we could confirm, so rely on what the app shows and contact support if it stalls.

Can I get a KiaKia loan without BVN?

Most licensed app lenders in Nigeria use the BVN to confirm identity and check credit history, so expect to be asked for it. Do not share it with anyone outside the official app.
