Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Loans

How to apply for a Kredi loan

How a Kredi loan application works, what identity and account details to have ready, and the checks to make on the lender before you accept.

The short answer

A Kredi loan is applied for through Kredi's own app or website: you create an account, verify your BVN, give income and bank details, and accept an offer that shows the amount, total cost and repayment date. Kredi's approval status was not clear from the FCCPC approvals list when we checked in October 2026, because no entry carried the exact name "Kredi", so confirm the lender's company name and check the register before you apply.

First, be sure which Kredi you mean

Several Nigerian lending brands have names close to "Kredi", and that causes real confusion. When we read the FCCPC list of approved digital money lenders in October 2026, we found no entry with the exact name Kredi. We did find similar-looking names belonging to different companies, such as KREDITEK STRIDE LTD (Kreditek app), KREDIKOPA NG LTD (NairaKopa app) and KIREDI ROCK COMPANY LTD (NairaBox app). These are not the same business, and you should not treat one listing as cover for another.

There are innocent reasons a lender may not appear under its brand name. The list is arranged by company name, and lenders that already hold a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) licence, such as microfinance banks, can hold a registration waiver instead of a listing; Nairametrics reported 32 such waivers in June 2026. So do this before you apply: find the legal company name in the app's terms or on its website, then search that name on the FCCPC page. Our guide to checking a loan app on the FCCPC register walks through it, and Is Kredi legit? covers the brand itself.

What to have ready

BVN
Used to confirm your identity against bank records and to pull your credit report from licensed credit bureaus.
Phone number
Preferably the one registered with your BVN, for codes and loan notices.
Bank account
In the same name as your BVN. This is where the loan lands.
Income details
Employer or business type, monthly income, sometimes a bank statement upload.
ID or selfie
Some lenders ask for a photo check to stop impersonation.
Repayment method
A debit card, a direct-debit mandate, or a transfer to a repayment account named in the agreement.

Kredi's current list of requirements, minimum age and any income threshold are set in its app, and we could not confirm them from an official page. Treat the list above as what to have ready, and the app as the final word.

How the application runs

  1. Install the app from the official store listing, checking the developer name matches the company name you found in the terms.
  2. Register with your phone number and set a strong password or PIN.
  3. Enter your BVN and confirm the details shown are yours.
  4. Fill in income details and add your bank account.
  5. Choose an amount and a term, then wait for the offer screen.
  6. Read the full offer: amount paid out, fees deducted, total repayable, and the due date or instalments.
  7. Accept only if you can repay from known income. The money is then paid to your account and the app shows the status.

Working out what it costs

The figure that matters is total repayable minus the cash you actually receive. Here is an example with illustrative numbers, not Kredi's charges, which are covered in Kredi interest rates and limits.

LineExample figure
Amount approved₦60,000
Processing fee deducted at payout (2%)₦1,200
Cash you receive₦58,800
Interest at 5% per month for 2 months₦6,000
Total repayable₦66,000
Real cost (repayable minus cash received)₦7,200

In this example the cost is ₦7,200 on ₦58,800 actually received, about 12.2% for two months. A rate quoted per month looks smaller than the same rate quoted per year, so compare loans on the naira total. Our piece on APR and flat fees explains the conversion.

Red flags while applying

  • A request to pay an "activation" or "insurance" fee before any money is released. Licensed lenders deduct agreed fees from the loan or add them to the repayable amount; they do not ask for upfront transfers to personal accounts.
  • Pressure to grant access to your contacts or gallery. Under the 2025 regulations, lenders may not shame borrowers to their contacts; see loan app harassment: your rights.
  • No company name, address or complaints channel anywhere in the app.
  • A repayment account in an individual's name rather than the company's.

If your application stalls

Applications most often stop at identity checks. If the app says your BVN could not be verified, compare the spelling of your name and your date of birth with what your bank holds; a missing middle name or a swapped day and month is enough to cause a mismatch. Fix the record with your bank if it is wrong there, rather than entering different details to get past the screen.

If the payout shows as sent but has not arrived, wait for the bank transfer to settle, then contact the lender's support with the reference number. Do not take a second loan from another app to cover the gap; two loans with close due dates is how many borrowers end up behind. Keep screenshots of the offer, the acceptance and any messages, because those are what a complaint to the lender, and later to the FCCPC, will rest on.

Where Pryme fits

If you are borrowing to cover everyday purchases, it can be worth comparing with Loans on Spaces, where Pryme customers may be offered a limit by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank to spend with merchants in Spaces. The full agreement is shown and you decide whether to accept; how a limit is offered explains the basis.

Questions people ask

Is Kredi registered with FCCPC?

We found no entry with the exact name Kredi on the FCCPC approvals list in October 2026. Find the lender's legal company name in its terms and search that on the FCCPC page, since some lenders are listed by company name or hold a CBN waiver.

What are Kredi loan requirements?

Expect a BVN, a phone number, a bank account in your name, income details and a repayment card or mandate. The app shows the current requirements and any age or income threshold.

Is Kredi the same as Kreditek or NairaKopa?

No. Kreditek (KREDITEK STRIDE LTD) and NairaKopa (KREDIKOPA NG LTD) are separate companies on the FCCPC list. Check the company named in the app you are using.

Why was my Kredi loan declined?

Common reasons are BVN details that do not match, a poor repayment record with other lenders, or too little income history. Ask support for the reason and check your credit report.
