Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

PS5 game centre: console cost, screens and hourly pricing

What a four-station PS5 game centre costs in Nigeria, how centres price by the hour or by the match, and how long the set-up takes to pay back.

The short answer

A four-station PS5 game centre in Nigeria costs roughly ₦9.9 million to set up in our labelled example, with consoles, TVs and a power system the largest items. Centres usually charge per hour or per match. In our example, four stations averaging six paid hours a day at ₦1,500 an hour clear about ₦480,000 a month after costs, which repays the set-up in about 20 months.

How a game centre makes money

A game centre sells time on consoles and screens that most of its customers cannot afford at home, in a social setting where friends play against each other. Football games dominate in most Nigerian centres, followed by fighting and racing games. Income depends on three things: how many stations you have, how many hours each is in paid use, and the price per hour or per match. Everything else, from snacks to tournaments, is extra.

Equipment and set-up: example budget

Figures are an example, not quotes. Console and TV prices move with the exchange rate and with supply, so check two or three sellers on the day you buy, and insist on a receipt and warranty for each console.

ItemExample cost (₦)
4 PS5 consoles at ₦900,0003,600,000
4 TVs (55-inch) at ₦450,0001,800,000
4 extra controllers at ₦90,000360,000
Games (disc or digital)300,000
Seating300,000
Inverter and solar system2,000,000
Backup generator600,000
Air-conditioning500,000
Fit-out: wiring, lighting, sound control, signage400,000
Total9,860,000

Ways to start smaller: two stations instead of four, used consoles from a trusted seller, or a mix of PS5 and older consoles priced lower. Do not cut corners on power protection; surges kill consoles, and an inverter or stabiliser pays for itself.

Pricing: per hour or per match

  • Per hour: simple to manage with a timer for each station. Works for all games.
  • Per match: common for football games, where a match takes a predictable time. Easy for customers to understand and pay as they go.
  • Bundles: three hours for the price of two and a half on weekday afternoons, to fill quiet times.
  • Tournaments: an entry fee per player, part of which funds a prize; fills the centre on weekends.

Peak times are usually evenings, weekends and school holidays. Charge more at peak if demand allows, and less at quiet times to fill stations.

A worked month

Example only. Four stations each averaging six paid hours a day for 30 days is 720 paid hours. At ₦1,500 an hour that is ₦1,080,000.

  • Attendant: ₦80,000
  • Rent: ₦150,000
  • Generator petrol on grid outages: 6 litres a day × 30 days = 180 litres; at about ₦1,596 a litre (NBS national average, as at May 2026) that is ₦287,280
  • Internet for updates and online play: ₦30,000
  • Reserve for replacing controllers and repairs: ₦50,000

Costs total ₦597,280, leaving ₦482,720 before tax. The ₦9,860,000 set-up would take about 20 months to recover at that rate (₦9,860,000 ÷ ₦482,720 ≈ 20.4). Two numbers move the result most: paid hours per station, and fuel. If stations average only four paid hours, income falls to ₦720,000 and the margin to about ₦122,720. Check current pump prices, and compare solar and generator costs using generator, solar and grid cost per kWh.

Running it well

  • Controllers wear out first. Track each one, rotate them, and replace drifting sticks quickly; nothing annoys players more.
  • Games and accounts. Read the licence terms for the console network and games you buy, and keep account passwords away from customers.
  • Neighbours and noise. Football matches are loud. Agree hours with your landlord and keep the volume within reason.
  • Rules on the wall. Prices, time limits, no betting on matches inside the centre, and behaviour rules.
  • Age and school hours. Parents and communities react badly to centres full of pupils in school uniform during school hours. A clear policy protects your reputation.

Extra income beyond hourly play

Most centres add small lines that use the same customers and staff. Cold drinks and snacks sell well during long sessions, as long as a fridge and power are reliable. Weekend tournaments fill every station and bring new players; publish the rules and prize in advance and pay prizes promptly. Some centres rent a station for private birthday parties at a fixed rate for a few hours. Phone charging and airtime sales add a little more. Keep each line simple to manage, because one attendant often runs the whole room.

What to check first

  1. Count young people passing the site in the evening and at weekends.
  2. Check how many hours of grid power the area gets and size your inverter accordingly.
  3. Visit two existing centres to see their prices and busy hours.
  4. Register a business name before opening a business account; CAC's May 2025 schedule lists it at ₦20,000.

Where Pryme fits

Players pay small amounts often. A Pryme Business Account offers bank-transfer checkout free of charge, so transfers land with a clear reference, and in-app bills for airtime and data if you resell them at the counter. For the power plan, read working out generator fuel cost, and for pricing in general, how to price products.

Questions people ask

How much does it cost to open a PS5 game centre in Nigeria?

Our labelled four-station example is about ₦9.86 million including consoles, TVs, extra controllers, games, seating, an inverter and solar system, a generator and air-conditioning, before rent.

How much do game centres charge per hour in Nigeria?

Prices vary by area and console. Our example uses ₦1,500 an hour; many centres also charge per football match. Check centres near you before setting prices.

Is game centre business profitable in Nigeria?

It can be if stations are busy. In our example, six paid hours a day per station clears about ₦480,000 a month, but at four hours the margin falls to about ₦123,000.

How long does a PS5 game centre take to pay back?

About 20 months in our example. Paid hours per station and fuel costs make the biggest difference.
