Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Funding LemFi with an Interac e-Transfer in Canada

How to top up a LemFi CAD wallet by Interac Autodeposit or Request Money, which limits apply, and why a top-up can sit unconfirmed.

The short answer

LemFi's Canadian help page lists two Interac routes into your CAD wallet: Interac Autodeposit, where you send an e-Transfer from your bank app to the LemFi Interac email shown in the app, and Interac Request Money, which you must start inside the LemFi app. Your top-up is limited both by your LemFi verification level and by your own bank's Interac limits, and LemFi says the wallet is credited once the payment is received.

The two Interac routes LemFi lists

LemFi's help page "Add money from Canada" (updated 21 October 2026) says you can fund your CAD wallet with Interac, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Interac comes in two forms, and they work differently:

RouteWhere you startWhat happens
Interac AutodepositLemFi app, then your bank appYou tap Accounts, choose CAD, tap Add Money and pick Interac e-Transfer. LemFi shows a LemFi Interac email. You send an e-Transfer to that email from your bank app and the funds deposit automatically.
Interac Request MoneyLemFi app onlyYou choose "Request via Interac", enter the amount and your own Interac email, and are sent to an Interac page to approve the payment from your bank. LemFi says: "Always start this request from the LemFi app."
Apple Pay / Google PayLemFi appNot Interac, but listed on the same page; LemFi says successful payments by these are credited instantly.

The page gives no fee, minimum or maximum for any of these methods. If a charge applies, it is shown in the app, and your bank may have its own pricing for e-Transfers on your account plan.

Step by step: Autodeposit

  1. Open LemFi and tap Accounts, then CAD.
  2. Tap Add Money and choose Interac e-Transfer. Copy the LemFi Interac email exactly as shown.
  3. Open your Canadian bank's app, start an Interac e-Transfer, add the LemFi email as the recipient and enter the amount.
  4. Send. Because LemFi uses Autodeposit, there is no security question for anyone to answer.
  5. Return to LemFi. The page says your CAD wallet is credited once the payment is received and the balance updates in the app.

Once the CAD is in the wallet, you send to Nigeria from it in the usual way; the steps for the send itself are in sending from Canada to Nigeria with LemFi.

Which limits apply

Two sets of limits stack on top of each other when you top up by Interac:

  • LemFi's own limits. LemFi's "What are my limits?" article (updated 21 October 2026) says there is no limit on how much you can hold in wallets, but limits on adding and sending money depend on your verification level and account type, on local regulations and on "your bank's own rules". It publishes no figures. You find yours under the profile icon, then Profile details, then Account Limits.
  • Your bank's Interac limits. Each Canadian bank sets how much you can send by e-Transfer per transaction, per day and over longer periods, often by account type. LemFi cannot raise these; your bank's app or website shows them.
  • What you can send onwards. A full CAD wallet does not mean you can send all of it at once. Sending limits are set separately by verification level; see LemFi limits for Canadian users.

If you plan a large transfer, check both screens before you start. Splitting a payment over several days because one limit is lower than the other is common, and the more general picture is in Interac e-Transfer limits when funding a remittance app.

Why a top-up can be held or not show up

LemFi's Canada page says only that the wallet is credited "once your payment is received". It does not list reasons for delay. From the steps themselves, these are the points to check, in order:

  1. Did the e-Transfer leave your bank? Look in your bank app's e-Transfer history. If the bank is still reviewing it, or it was declined for a limit, LemFi has nothing to credit yet.
  2. Was it sent to the right email? Autodeposit only works with the LemFi Interac email the app showed you. A typing slip sends it elsewhere or leaves it pending.
  3. Did you start Request Money in the app? LemFi's instruction is to start it from the LemFi app. A request you set up any other way is not the one LemFi is waiting for.
  4. Has your account reached its adding limit? LemFi links adding limits to verification level. The app says when you are near or over a limit and suggests the next step, such as further verification.
  5. Is your account under review? LemFi's article on slow transfers names security checks as one cause of delay, and its "not received" article says an "In review" status means it needs details from you, so check your email.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme is not an Interac top-up route, and it does not hold Canadian dollars. A Pryme account, opened from any country, holds NGN, USD, GBP and EUR with local account details for each, and Swap converts only when you choose, with the rate and the fee shown before you approve. It suits people who also want to keep naira or dollars for family at home; see multicurrency accounts.

Questions people ask

How do I add money to LemFi with Interac in Canada?

In LemFi tap Accounts, then CAD, then Add Money, and choose Interac e-Transfer (Autodeposit) or Request via Interac. Autodeposit means sending an e-Transfer to the LemFi Interac email from your bank app.

Is there a fee to fund LemFi by Interac?

LemFi's Canada help page states no fee. Check the app before you confirm, and check whether your bank plan charges for e-Transfers.

Why has my Interac top-up not reached my LemFi wallet?

Check that the e-Transfer left your bank, went to the exact LemFi Interac email, and that you are within your LemFi adding limit. Then contact LemFi support with the bank's reference.

Can I use Interac Request Money from my bank app for LemFi?

LemFi says to always start the Interac request from the LemFi app, which then sends you to an Interac page to approve the payment.
