Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Ecctis statement for a Nigerian degree: cost and steps

What a UK ENIC (Ecctis) Statement of Comparability costs for a Nigerian degree, how long it takes, and how to apply without delays.

The short answer

As at October 2026, UK ENIC's own cost page lists a Statement of Comparability at £69.60, including an e-Statement, with a standard processing time of up to 15 working days once it has all your documents and full payment. Fast Track costs £223.20 for two working days or £284.40 for one working day. The statement says what UK level your Nigerian degree compares to; it is not a check that your certificate is real.

Many Nigerians in the UK search for an "Ecctis statement" when an employer, university or professional body asks how their Nigerian degree compares with a UK qualification. The document they usually mean is the Statement of Comparability, ordered from UK ENIC at enic.org.uk. This guide sets out the current price, the timing and the steps, using UK ENIC's own pages as at October 2026.

What the statement does, and what it does not

A Statement of Comparability compares a qualification awarded outside the UK with a level in the UK system. For a Nigerian graduate, that typically means a statement on how a bachelor's degree from a Nigerian university compares with a UK degree. Employers and admissions teams use it to read an unfamiliar qualification.

It is not the same as verifying that your certificate is authentic. If a UK employer wants confirmation that you actually hold the degree, that is a separate request to your university in Nigeria; see our guide on getting Nigerian degree certificates verified for a UK employer. Before you pay, ask the organisation which of the two it wants, or whether it wants both.

Cost as at October 2026

These figures are from UK ENIC's Statement of Comparability cost page and its Fast Track page, read in October 2026. Prices change, so check the cost page or the checkout screen on the day you apply.

ItemPrice shownTiming shown
Statement of Comparability (includes e-Statement)£69.60Up to 15 working days
Fast Track, 2 working days (Translation Waiver Service included where applicable)£223.202 working days
Fast Track, 1 working day (Translation Waiver Service included where applicable)£284.401 working day
Paper copy posted in the UK£12.60Request within 3 months of the e-Statement
Paper copy posted internationally£75.60Request within 3 months of the e-Statement

The cost page does not say whether its prices include or exclude VAT. The total shown before you pay is the figure that counts.

Worked example

Example only: a nurse applying for a UK job wants a standard statement and a posted paper copy for her file. At October 2026 prices that is £69.60 + £12.60 = £82.20. If the employer needs it within two working days, Fast Track plus a UK paper copy would be £223.20 + £12.60 = £235.80. Most employers accept the e-Statement, so ask before you pay for paper.

How the clock works

The 15 working days on the standard service, and the one or two days on Fast Track, start only when UK ENIC has every document it needs and full payment. Its Fast Track page sets out the rules:

  • Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK public and bank holidays, and end at 5pm UK time.
  • If UK ENIC needs more information or documents, or has to carry out further evaluations, the clock restarts.
  • Refunds are available only if you ask to cancel before the evaluation team begins checking your qualifications.

In practice, the delay most Nigerian applicants meet is a missing or unclear document, not the processing itself. A blurred scan or a name that does not match across documents can cost you more time than choosing standard over Fast Track.

Steps to apply

  1. Confirm with the employer or university that a Statement of Comparability is what it wants, and whether it needs any additional statements.
  2. Read UK ENIC's "Documents you will need" page for the current list before you start; it is linked from the cost page.
  3. Prepare clear colour scans of your degree certificate and, where asked, your academic transcript from the Nigerian university.
  4. If the name on your certificate differs from your current passport (for example after marriage), have evidence of the change ready. Our guide to updating Nigerian records after a name change covers the documents.
  5. Create an account at enic.org.uk, choose the service and speed, upload documents and pay.
  6. Download the e-Statement from your online account when it is issued, and order a paper copy within three months if you need one.

What to check first

  • Is the request for comparability, verification, or both?
  • Does the organisation accept an e-Statement, or does it insist on paper?
  • Do the names on your certificate, transcript and passport match?
  • Is your deadline tight enough to justify Fast Track, given that the clock only starts once documents are complete?

Where Pryme fits

UK ENIC charges in pounds. If you keep a Pryme account with GBP alongside your naira, you can pay from your GBP balance; if you only hold naira, Swap shows the rate and the fee before you approve the conversion. Keep your proof of payment with the statement: a verifiable receipt lets an employer confirm it has not been altered.

Questions people ask

How much is an Ecctis Statement of Comparability for a Nigerian degree?

UK ENIC's cost page listed £69.60, including an e-Statement, as at October 2026. Fast Track was £223.20 for two working days and £284.40 for one working day. Check the live cost page before paying.

How long does UK ENIC take for a Nigerian degree?

Up to 15 working days on the standard service, counted from when UK ENIC has all documents and full payment. The clock restarts if it needs more information.

Is Ecctis the same as UK ENIC?

People use the two names interchangeably when they mean the Statement of Comparability. You order it through UK ENIC at enic.org.uk.

Does a Statement of Comparability prove my certificate is real?

No. It compares the level of your qualification. Confirmation that you hold the degree comes from your Nigerian university or a verification service the employer names.
