Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Italy

Closing your partita IVA before moving back to Nigeria

Close a partita IVA within 30 days of stopping work: model AA9/12 for freelancers, ComUnica if on the Registro Imprese. Filing routes and last steps.

The short answer

To close a partita IVA before moving back to Nigeria, file the cessation within 30 days of the date you stop the activity: freelancers and sole traders use model AA9/12, companies and other entities model AA7/10, and anyone entered in the Registro Imprese files through ComUnica. Forms not filed through ComUnica can be lodged at any Agenzia delle Entrate office, by registered post or by PEC.

Leaving Italy with an open partita IVA is a common and expensive mistake. Chamber fees keep accruing if you are on the register, INPS contributions can keep running under some regimes, and returns are still expected. Close it while you are still in Italy, with working SPID, a PEC and your accountant within reach. This guide follows InformazioneFiscale’s guide of 13 October 2026.

Which form, and how to file

Your situationHow to close
Freelancer (libero professionista) or sole trader not on the Registro ImpreseModel AA9/12 to the Agenzia delle Entrate
Company, association or other entity not on the Registro ImpreseModel AA7/10
Anyone entered in the Registro Imprese (ditta individuale, srl, etc.)ComUnica, filed electronically, which also covers the chamber

Forms filed directly with the Agenzia can be sent:

  • In person, in two copies, at any Agenzia office regardless of your fiscal domicile; someone you delegate can deliver it.
  • By registered post (raccomandata), one copy plus a copy of your ID, to any office. The filing date is the posting date.
  • Electronically by PEC or through an authorised intermediary. The filing date is when the Agenzia finishes receiving the data.

The 30-day deadline and penalties

The cessation must be filed within 30 days of the date the activity ends. InformazioneFiscale notes that D.L. 193/2016 abolished the specific VAT penalty for failing to file the cessation, which had ranged from €516 to €2,000. That is not a reason to leave it open: until you close, the Agenzia expects returns, and chamber registration keeps its annual fee.

If the Agenzia closes it for you

The Agenzia also closes inactive VAT numbers on its own initiative. It writes first, and you have 60 days from receiving the registered letter to explain any facts it has missed. InformazioneFiscale reports a new Agenzia provision on this, published on 12 October 2026. A closure by the Agenzia is not a substitute for your own: it does not settle outstanding returns or chamber and INPS positions.

Your last steps before leaving

  1. Issue final invoices and collect what clients owe you.
  2. Agree the last returns with your accountant, covering the period up to the cessation, and how they will be filed once you are in Nigeria.
  3. Pay outstanding F24s and check them in your cassetto fiscale.
  4. Close the chamber and INPS side. ComUnica carries notifications to INPS and INAIL as well as the chamber; ask your accountant to confirm each was processed.
  5. Download records: returns, F24s, invoices and the closure receipt.
  6. Keep the PEC and SPID alive for a while after closure, so you can receive final notices.
  7. Leave a delegation to your accountant to view your cassetto fiscale; you can name up to two intermediaries.

If you have a ditta individuale or an srl

A sole trader on the Registro Imprese closes through ComUnica, which carries the cancellation from the register and the VAT cessation together. An srl is different: the company does not end when you stop working. It must be put into liquidation, its accounts closed and the company cancelled from the register, which usually involves a notary and the company’s accountant and can take months. If you plan to leave in a year, start the conversation now. Your other choices are to sell your shares or appoint a director who stays in Italy, both with their own paperwork.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Leaving without telling your accountant the end date.
  • Closing the VAT number but leaving the chamber registration open, so the annual fee keeps accruing.
  • Letting your SPID or CIE lapse before final notices arrive.
  • Not keeping copies of returns, which Nigerian banks and embassies often ask for as proof of past income.

Pensions and savings

Contributions paid to INPS during self-employment stay on your record. What you can draw from Nigeria is covered in INPS pension if you retire to Nigeria. If you were also an employee, see TFR when moving back.

What to check first

  • The exact date your activity ends, which starts the 30-day clock.
  • Whether you are on the Registro Imprese (then ComUnica) or not (then AA9/12).
  • Who files your last returns once you have left.
  • That every F24 shows in your cassetto fiscale.

Where Pryme fits

Moving back means moving money. A Pryme account, opened from any country, holds EUR and NGN with local account details, so you can receive final client payments in euros and convert with Swap when you choose. Outside Nigeria, Pryme’s activities are carried out through regulated partners.

Questions people ask

How long do I have to close my partita IVA?

Thirty days from the date the activity ends, according to InformazioneFiscale’s October 2026 guide.

Which form closes a partita IVA for a freelancer?

Model AA9/12, filed at any Agenzia office, by registered post or by PEC. If you are on the Registro Imprese, use ComUnica.

Is there a fine for not closing a partita IVA?

The specific VAT penalty for not filing the cessation was abolished by D.L. 193/2016, but returns and chamber fees keep running until you close.

Can I close my partita IVA from Nigeria?

Through an intermediary or by PEC, yes, but it is easier to close before leaving while your Italian logins still work.
