Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Banking how-tos

Zenith Bank complaint not resolved: escalation to CBN

How to escalate an unresolved Zenith Bank complaint: log it with Zenith first, wait two weeks, then write to the CBN's Consumer Protection Department.

The short answer

Complain to Zenith Bank first and get a ticket or reference number. If the bank has not resolved it within two weeks, the CBN's Consumer Protection Department accepts a written complaint addressed to its Director in Abuja, delivered at the CBN head office or any CBN branch, with your account details, the transaction history, the amount claimed and proof that you reported it to Zenith first.

Step one: a complaint Zenith has to answer

The CBN will only take up a complaint the bank has had a fair chance to resolve, so the first job is to create a clear record with Zenith Bank itself. Use the channels Zenith lists, as reported by TechCabal in May 2026:

  • Phone: 0201-278-7000, 0700-ZENITHBANK, 0904-085-7000 or 091-1987-7000
  • Email: zenithdirect@zenithbank.com
  • WhatsApp: ZiVA on 07040004422
  • In person at your branch, with a written letter you get stamped

Whatever channel you use, ask for a ticket or reference number before you end the call or chat, and write it down with the date and the name of the person you spoke to. TechCabal gives the same advice. If you complain at a branch, keep the stamped copy of your letter.

What to put in the complaint

  1. Your name, account number and phone number
  2. The date, amount and type of each transaction involved, with any session ID or reference
  3. What went wrong, in two or three plain sentences
  4. What you want: a refund, a reversal, a corrected statement, a fee returned
  5. Copies of receipts, alerts or screenshots

Step two: the two-week wait

The CBN's complaints page tells customers to complain first at the bank or branch where the problem started and to allow two weeks, citing its 2011 circular on ATM help desks. Follow up during that time using your ticket number, and keep each reply. If Zenith gives you a final answer you disagree with, that is also a point at which you can escalate.

Common complaints and what to ask for

ProblemWhat to ask Zenith for
Debited at an ATM, no cashReversal of the debit, with the ATM location and time quoted
Transfer debited, not receivedConfirmation of the session ID status and a reversal or completion
Charge you think is wrongThe basis for the charge and a refund if it exceeds the CBN Guide to Charges
Card used without your consentCard block, a fraud investigation and a refund decision in writing
Account restricted without noticeThe reason, and the documents needed to lift it

Being exact about what you want makes it easier for the bank to say yes, and easier for the CBN to see later whether the bank answered your request or ignored it.

Step three: writing to the CBN

The CBN's Consumer Protection Department page sets out how to escalate. The complaint is a letter addressed to:

Addressee
The Director, Consumer Protection Department, Central Bank of Nigeria, Central Business District, Abuja
Delivery
By hand at the CBN head office in Abuja or at any CBN branch
Phone line
None listed on the page
Email
The page shows an address, but it is hidden by email protection; check the page directly

The CBN page asks you to include:

  • Your name, address, phone number and email
  • The name of the bank and your banking details, but never your PIN or password
  • The date and history of the transaction
  • The amount you are claiming
  • Supporting documents
  • Proof that you first reported the matter to the bank

The last item is where the ticket number and stamped letter from step one matter. Without them, the CBN may send you back to Zenith.

A timeline you can follow

WhenWhat to do
Day 0Complain to Zenith, get a ticket number
Days 3 to 10Follow up with the ticket number; keep replies
Day 14No resolution: prepare the CBN letter
Day 15 onwardsDeliver to CBN head office or a branch; keep a stamped copy

Mistakes that slow a complaint down

  • Complaining only on social media. A public post is not a ticket. Use an official channel and get a reference.
  • Opening several new tickets. Follow up on one ticket number so the history stays in one place.
  • Sending sensitive details. The CBN page is clear: never include your PIN or password in a complaint.
  • Going to the CBN first. Without proof that you reported to Zenith, the CBN is likely to send you back.
  • Missing documents. Attach every alert and receipt the first time; each request for more papers adds days.

Our general guide to complaining about a bank or fintech covers other routes, and failed Zenith transactions deals with refunds specifically.

Where Pryme fits

Complaints are easier to prove when your records are. Pryme customers can generate a verifiable statement or receipt through VerifyDoc.ai that anyone can check is genuine and unaltered, which can support a dispute with any bank (see receipts). For help with a Pryme account itself, use contact.

Questions people ask

How long should I wait for Zenith Bank to resolve my complaint?

The CBN's complaints page asks customers to allow the bank two weeks before escalating, citing its 2011 ATM help desk circular. Follow up during that time using your ticket number.

How do I report Zenith Bank to the CBN?

Write to the Director, Consumer Protection Department, Central Bank of Nigeria, Central Business District, Abuja, and deliver it at the CBN head office or any CBN branch, with your transaction details, the amount claimed, supporting documents and proof that you complained to Zenith first.

Is there a CBN phone number for bank complaints?

The CBN's complaints management page does not list one. It describes a written complaint delivered to the CBN.

What if Zenith says my complaint is closed but I am not satisfied?

Ask for the final response in writing, then escalate to the CBN with it attached as proof that you reported to the bank first.
