You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How Nigerian statutory, customary and Islamic law treat a widow's right to stay in the family home, the key court cases, and what children abroad can do.
Nigerian courts have protected a widow's right to stay in her late husband's house: in Nzekwu v Nzekwu (1989) the Supreme Court held that a widow may occupy the property and cannot be evicted by his family, even without male children. Where there is no will, laws such as Lagos's Administration of Estates Law 2015 put the surviving spouse and children ahead of other relatives, and Ukeje v Ukeje (2014) struck down customs excluding daughters from inheritance.
When a father dies, one of the most anxious questions for children abroad is whether their mother can stay in the family house. In some families, relatives of the late husband press claims to the property, sometimes quickly. Nigerian law gives widows real protection, but how much depends on whether there was a will, the type of marriage and the law that applies to the estate. This guide sets out the main rules and cases, and what children abroad can do.
Inheritance in Nigeria can be governed by statute (where there is a will under a Wills Law, or under a state's estate administration law on intestacy), customary law, or Islamic law. Which applies depends on the deceased's marriage, faith, custom and whether he left a valid will. A March 2025 overview by Olusola Olufemi of The Trusted Advisors, published on Mondaq, summarises the key authorities below.
Together these mean a family cannot lawfully remove a widow from the matrimonial home simply by citing custom, and daughters cannot be cut out of their father's estate on grounds of sex.
The Trusted Advisors' overview notes that the Lagos Wills Law 2004 gives testamentary freedom regardless of gender, so a husband can leave the house to his wife by will. If the will leaves the house to her, the executors should apply for probate and transfer it. If it leaves the house to someone else, the widow's position depends on the will and the applicable law; she should take legal advice quickly.
Where the deceased died intestate and statute applies, state laws set an order of entitlement. The overview says Lagos's Administration of Estates Law 2015 (section 49) has children sharing equally regardless of gender and the surviving spouse and children ranking ahead of other potential heirs. In practice the estate needs letters of administration before property can be dealt with. A Mondaq practitioner guide (May 2024) on the Lagos process describes at least two administrators, two sureties, an interview and a 21-day newspaper publication, and gives the priority among applicants as spouse, then children, then parents and siblings. See our guide on letters of administration from abroad.
Being named next of kin does not by itself transfer property. Daily Trust's explainer notes that next of kin is not automatically entitled to inherit, and that an estate needs probate or letters of administration before assets are released.
Under customary law the courts have followed Nzekwu in protecting the widow's occupation of the home. Practice in communities can still differ: the overview cites a Daily Trust report of a community in Plateau State where widows lose land on a husband's death. Under Islamic law, heirs take fixed shares; the overview notes daughters receive half of sons' shares, and the widow's share depends on the family situation. A local lawyer or the court will apply the system that governs the estate.
This is information, not legal advice. Each estate turns on its own facts and the law that applies.
While legal steps run, the practical priority is that your mother feels secure. Keep paying the house's bills and her allowance on time, make sure she has copies of key documents, and ask a trusted relative or neighbour to check on her. If she is under pressure from relatives, a lawyer's letter often calms matters before anything reaches court.
While the estate is settled, a Pryme account lets you pay your mother's allowance, the lawyer and the house's bills directly in naira from abroad with Send. A verifiable receipt of each payment gives a clear record of who has kept the house running.
Nigerian courts have held, in Nzekwu v Nzekwu (1989), that a widow may stay in her late husband's house and cannot be evicted by his family, even without male children. A lawyer can seek an injunction if relatives try.
It depends on the applicable law. Under Lagos's Administration of Estates Law, the surviving spouse and children rank ahead of other relatives and children share equally regardless of gender.
Yes. In Ukeje v Ukeje (2014) the Supreme Court held that the custom excluding daughters from their father's estate is unconstitutional.
No. Being next of kin does not transfer property. The estate needs probate (with a will) or letters of administration (without one).
