Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

2018OjirehPrime Card

2020Microfinance bank

PrymeSolid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Transcription jobs for Nigerians: which sites accept you

What we could verify about transcription sites and Nigerian applicants as at Oct 2026, the pay per audio minute one site publishes, and how payment works.

The short answer

GoTranscript says it hires worldwide and publishes pay of up to $1.75 per audio minute, paid weekly via methods such as PayPal or Payoneer, but as at Oct 2026 its jobs page says it is not accepting new transcribers and offers a waitlist. We could not confirm current Nigerian acceptance for other well-known sites, so check each one's own page; marketplaces such as Fiverr and Upwork are open to Nigerian transcribers.

Transcription is turning audio into accurate text: interviews, meetings, podcasts, lectures, legal and medical recordings. It is often recommended to Nigerians as an easy entry into online work. It is entry-level in the sense that you need no degree, but it is not easy money: it rewards fast, accurate typing, a good ear for accents and close attention to style rules. This article sets out what we could verify as at Oct 2026, and how to judge any site yourself.

What we checked

SiteAccepts applicants fromPublished payStatus as at Oct 2026
GoTranscript"We hire worldwide"; non-native speakers with near-native proficiency who pass the testsUp to $1.75 per audio minutePage says not accepting new transcribers; waitlist offered (it also says hiring is open, so check the application link)
Fiverr (marketplace)Open to Nigerian sellersYou set the price; Fiverr pays 80% of the cleared orderOpen
Upwork (marketplace)Open to Nigerians with ID and video verificationYou set the rate; Upwork fee appliesOpen

We did not open current pages for Rev, TranscribeMe, Scribie and similar sites, so we make no claim about whether they accept Nigerian applicants today or what they pay. Their positions have changed over the years; check the applicant page on each company's own website, not a list on a blog.

How GoTranscript describes the work and pay

  • Pay is per audio minute, meaning the length of the file, not the time you spend. GoTranscript's headline is "up to $1.75 per minute" and it says earnings vary with language demand, available jobs, speed, accuracy and task complexity.
  • Application is two steps: read the guidelines, then a short English test plus a language-specific transcription test.
  • Payment is weekly, on Fridays, through methods such as PayPal or Payoneer; the page says payout options depend on your region.
  • It does not publish a minimum payout on that page.

What "per audio minute" means in practice

Example only, with assumed figures. Suppose clear audio takes you four minutes of work per audio minute; difficult audio takes longer. If one hour of audio takes you four hours and pays at a rate of $0.50 per audio minute, that is $30 for four hours, or $7.50 an hour. The headline "up to" rate rarely applies to beginners. Track your own speed on test files before deciding whether the work pays for your time and power.

Skills and set-up that decide your earnings

  • Typing speed with accuracy. Speed without accuracy fails quality checks; most sites review your work and can lower your access to jobs.
  • Listening. Clients send audio with accents, cross-talk and background noise. Practise on varied English recordings, including British and American speakers.
  • Style rules. Each site has a style guide (verbatim or clean verbatim, how to mark unclear speech, speaker labels). Read it fully before the test.
  • Good closed headphones and, if you can, a foot pedal or keyboard shortcuts for pause and rewind.
  • A quiet hour. Transcription in a noisy room takes longer and earns less per hour.

If you speak Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Nigerian Pidgin or another language well, look for sites and clients that need it. GoTranscript says earnings vary with language demand; a less common language pair can mean less competition, though also fewer jobs.

Getting paid in Nigeria

Because Nigerian PayPal accounts have been unreliable for receiving, Payoneer is the more practical route where a site offers it. On marketplaces, Fiverr pays through Payoneer or bank transfer via Payoneer. See how Payoneer works in Nigeria and starting on Fiverr.

Avoiding transcription scams

The FTC warns that honest employers never ask you to pay to get a job. Common Nigerian versions:

  • A "registration" or "software" fee before you can see work.
  • Paid "certification" sold as a condition for joining a site that does not require it.
  • A WhatsApp group promising guaranteed daily audio for a joining fee.
  • Requests to buy a site account from someone else; the account, and your earnings, can be closed.

What to check first

  1. The site's own applicant page: does it accept your country, and is it hiring now?
  2. The pay basis (audio minute or work hour) and the payout methods for Nigeria.
  3. Your typing speed and accuracy on a sample file, with headphones.
  4. Steady power and internet for long files; see what remote work costs.

Where Pryme fits

Weekly transcription payouts are small and frequent, so where conversion happens matters. A Pryme account holds dollars and naira side by side, and Swap converts when you approve, rate shown first, if your payout provider can send to it.

Questions people ask

Which transcription sites accept Nigerians?

GoTranscript says it hires worldwide but was not accepting new transcribers as at Oct 2026. Fiverr and Upwork are open to Nigerian transcribers.

How much does transcription pay per minute?

GoTranscript publishes up to $1.75 per audio minute; actual earnings vary. Beginners usually earn far less per hour of work.

Does Rev accept Nigerians?

We could not verify Rev's current position as at Oct 2026. Check Rev's own applicant page.

How are transcribers in Nigeria paid?

Usually by Payoneer or PayPal where available; GoTranscript says options depend on region.
