Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to start selling on Fiverr from Nigeria

Nigerians can sell on Fiverr and get paid in dollars. The steps to a first gig, how seller levels work, and the payout routes that suit Nigeria.

The short answer

You can open a Fiverr seller account from Nigeria, publish gigs and earn in US dollars; Fiverr pays sellers 80% of each cleared order after a 14-day clearing period. For Nigerian sellers the practical payout routes are Payoneer or bank transfer via Payoneer, because PayPal receiving from Nigeria remains unreliable.

Fiverr works the other way round from most job sites. Instead of applying for jobs, you publish fixed-price services, called gigs, and buyers come to you. That suits Nigerians who have a clear, repeatable skill: logo design, voice-over, video editing, CV writing, WordPress fixes, data cleaning. This guide covers the set-up, the first weeks, and how the money gets home.

Before you sign up

  • One clear service. A gig sells a specific outcome ("a 30-second product video edit"), not a job title ("video editor").
  • Samples. Three to five pieces of work you can show. If you have no clients yet, make sample work for imaginary clients and label it as such.
  • A payout plan. Decide now how you will withdraw (see below), because Fiverr adds a waiting period after you add or change a payout method.
  • Steady internet and power for delivery days. Late delivery hurts your standing more than almost anything else; our guide to what remote work costs in Nigeria covers backup options.

Steps to your first gig

  1. Create a Fiverr account and switch to selling. Use your real name as it appears on your ID, because the name on your payout account will need to match.
  2. Complete your seller profile: photo, short description, skills, languages and any education or certifications you can back up.
  3. Create your first gig using Fiverr's "Creating a Gig" guide in its help centre. Fiverr's own advice is high-quality descriptions and clear pricing.
  4. Set up packages. Many sellers offer three tiers so a buyer can choose scope; price each so that the 80% you keep covers your time.
  5. Add your gallery samples and publish.
  6. Set up your payout method early so it is ready when your first funds clear.

Fiverr's help pages describe the steps in its own interface and can change; follow them on screen rather than any third-party screenshot.

How seller levels work

Fiverr says each freelancer level unlocks new benefits, with level badges shown on gig cards and profiles, and that levels depend on performance criteria linked to your work and your relationships with customers. Its help page names Top Rated (eligible for a shorter clearing period) and Fiverr Pro, described as the highest tier of the marketplace. It does not list every level's thresholds on that page, so check the current criteria in your seller dashboard rather than relying on old forum posts.

What you control is the same at any level: respond quickly, deliver on time, keep buyers inside Fiverr's messaging and order system, and ask for changes in writing before you start.

How you get paid

When you deliver, the buyer has three days to respond (14 for shipping gigs); with no response the order completes. You then receive 80% of the cleared payment, which waits 14 days before you can withdraw. Fiverr lists these payout methods, with fees as at Oct 2026:

Bank transfer via Payoneer
$1 fee, $20 minimum, 1–3 business days in local currency
Payoneer account
$3 fee, $10 minimum, up to 2 business days
PayPal
$0 fee, but Nigerian PayPal accounts have historically been unable to receive
Fiverr Revenue Card
Discontinued in December 2022

Fiverr warns that each method may have location restrictions. For the full comparison, read how to withdraw Fiverr earnings in Nigeria and what a Nigerian seller keeps after fees.

Mistakes that slow new Nigerian sellers

  • Pricing below the market to get noticed, then never raising it. Low prices bring buyers who want more for less. Start fair, and raise prices as reviews build.
  • Taking payment or contact details off Fiverr. Fiverr's system protects both sides; moving a buyer off the platform risks your account and leaves you with no record if the buyer disputes.
  • Vague gig scope. If the gig says "logo design" without saying how many concepts and revisions, every order becomes a negotiation. State what is included and what costs extra.
  • Using a shared or borrowed account. Your ID, your profile and your payout account should all be yours. Mismatched names are a common reason withdrawals stall.
  • Copying another seller's gig text. Write your own. Buyers read many gigs, and specific detail about how you work sells better than borrowed phrasing.

None of this needs money to fix. It needs a clear offer, steady delivery and patience through the first few orders, which are usually the hardest to win.

What to check first

  • Your ID name, Fiverr name and payout account name all match.
  • Your gig price is set with the 20% in mind: to keep $40, price at $50.
  • You have a plan for the first 17 or so days with no cash from a new order (3-day review window plus 14-day clearing).
  • You keep a simple record of each order for tax. Freelance income earned while resident in Nigeria is taxable here; see tax on dollar income.

Where Pryme fits

Once Fiverr money reaches you, a Pryme account can hold it in dollars and naira side by side, and Swap converts only when you approve, with the rate shown first. Check which payout providers can send to your account before you rely on any route.

Questions people ask

Can Nigerians sell on Fiverr?

Yes. Nigerians can register as sellers and publish gigs. The limits are on payout methods, not on selling.

How do I get paid on Fiverr in Nigeria?

Most Nigerian sellers use Payoneer, either a Payoneer account ($3 Fiverr fee) or bank transfer via Payoneer ($1 fee), per Fiverr's withdrawal page as at Oct 2026.

How long does it take to get my first Fiverr payment?

After delivery the buyer has three days to respond, then funds clear in 14 days. Expect about 17 days for a new seller, plus withdrawal time.

How do I become a Top Rated seller on Fiverr?

Fiverr says levels depend on performance criteria and customer relationships. Check the current criteria in your seller dashboard.
