Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Banking how-tos

Signature Bank Nigeria SWIFT code

Signature Bank Nigeria's SWIFT/BIC is SNIGNGLA, or SNIGNGLAXXX for its Abuja head office. Details a foreign sender needs, and the US bank mix-up.

The short answer

Signature Bank Nigeria's SWIFT/BIC code is SNIGNGLA, or SNIGNGLAXXX in 11-character form, registered to SIGNATURE BANK LIMITED at 31B, Plot 1707 Gana Street, Cadastral Zone A05, Maitama, Abuja 900001; the bank has no branch-level SWIFT codes (Alaan directory, checked October 2026). A sender also needs your exact account name and number and should use a domiciliary account for foreign currency.

When someone abroad pays you into Signature Bank Nigeria, their bank asks for a SWIFT code. Searching online is risky here, because the name is shared with an unrelated American bank and its codes appear first in many results. Using the American code would send the payment to the wrong country. This guide gives the Nigerian bank's code, explains its parts and lists the other details your sender needs.

Source: Alaan's SWIFT code directory for Signature Bank Limited, checked in October 2026, which states the bank "does not have branch-level codes registered in the SWIFT network". We did not find the code on a Signature Bank page, so confirm it with the bank before a first payment.

Reading SNIGNGLA

SNIG
Bank code for Signature Bank Limited
NG
Nigeria
LA
Location code. Here it is LA although the registered address is in Abuja.
XXX
Head office; the only branch code on record

The location letters do not always match the city of the registered address, which is why you should give the sender the full address from the record as well as the code.

What your sender needs

  1. Your account name exactly as Signature Bank holds it.
  2. Your 10-digit account number.
  3. Bank name: Signature Bank Limited, Nigeria.
  4. SWIFT/BIC: SNIGNGLA, or SNIGNGLAXXX where 11 characters are required.
  5. Bank address: 31B, Plot 1707 Gana Street, Cadastral Zone A05, Maitama, Abuja, Nigeria.
  6. Your address and the purpose of the payment.
  7. Any correspondent bank details Signature Bank gives you for the currency.

Receiving foreign currency

A foreign payment should normally go into a domiciliary account in the same currency. Before sharing your details, ask Signature Bank:

  • whether you can hold a domiciliary account in USD, GBP or EUR;
  • what happens to a dollar payment sent to a naira account;
  • which correspondent bank it uses for each currency;
  • what it charges for inward transfers and whether the charge is deducted from the amount;
  • what documents it may ask for to explain the payment.

Worked example

Example only. A daughter in Canada sends US$800 to her father's Signature Bank domiciliary account, with charges shared. An intermediary deducts $20 and the receiving bank charges $10. Her father receives $800 − $20 − $10 = $770. If she picks the option to pay all charges, most or all of the $800 should arrive. Ask the bank for its current inward charge.

See IBAN, sort code, routing number and SWIFT for how the identifiers fit together, and SWIFT vs local payment rails for cost and speed.

Before the first payment: a short checklist

  • Send the sender your details in writing, typed rather than handwritten, so nothing is misread.
  • Include both the code and the full bank address from the record.
  • Ask the sender to read back the code to you; it should contain NG in the fifth and sixth positions.
  • For a large payment, ask the sender to send a small test amount first and wait for it to arrive.
  • Keep a copy of what you sent, so you can compare it with the sender's confirmation if anything goes wrong.

Typical uses for a SWIFT transfer into Signature Bank

Family support
Usually into a domiciliary account in the sender's currency
Freelance or export income
The bank may ask for an invoice or contract
School fees or rent from abroad
Allow extra time; confirm the account can receive the currency
Business receipts
A corporate domiciliary account in the company's name

If a payment goes missing

  • Ask the sender for the SWIFT confirmation (MT103) and check that it shows SNIGNGLA, not a US code.
  • Send it with your account number to the bank and ask for a trace; contacts are in Signature Bank customer care.
  • If the American code was used, the sender's bank must recall the payment; your bank cannot pull it back.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme accounts include local account details for USD, GBP and EUR as well as NGN, so a sender abroad can often pay locally instead of by SWIFT. Money stays in its currency until you choose to Swap; see multicurrency accounts.

Questions people ask

What is Signature Bank Nigeria SWIFT code?

SNIGNGLA, or SNIGNGLAXXX for the Abuja head office, according to the Alaan directory in October 2026.

Does Signature Bank Nigeria have branch SWIFT codes?

No. The directory states it has no branch-level codes; use SNIGNGLA or SNIGNGLAXXX for all payments.

What address do I use for Signature Bank Nigeria international transfers?

31B, Plot 1707 Gana Street, Cadastral Zone A05, Maitama, Abuja 900001, as on the SWIFT record.

Why did my payment go to the US Signature Bank?

The sender probably used a US Signature Bank code. Nigerian codes contain NG; the sender's bank must recall the payment.
