Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

2018OjirehPrime Card

2020Microfinance bank

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Banking how-tos

Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria customer care and contacts

The contact details for Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria we could verify on official pages, the address mismatch to know about, and how to escalate.

The short answer

Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria does not run a retail call centre; the NDIC directory of insured banks lists its email as info@rmb.com.ng, its phone as +234 (0)1 463 7900 and its address as 12th Floor, Churchgate Tower 2, Plot PC 31 Churchgate Street, Victoria Island, Lagos (checked October 2026). If a complaint is not resolved within two weeks, the CBN lets you escalate to its Consumer Protection Department.

Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria, usually shortened to RMB Nigeria, is not a bank most Nigerians will ever walk into. Its own website describes it as a provider of investment banking, advisory, finance and trading solutions, investment opportunities and fund management, and a subsidiary of South Africa's FirstRand Group. That shapes how you reach it: there is no 24-hour personal contact centre, no USSD code and no consumer app on the pages we checked. Most people looking for RMB contacts are corporate treasurers, suppliers, investors, job applicants or someone sending or tracing a payment.

Contacts we could verify

We looked for contact details on pages run by RMB itself and by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). RMB Nigeria's contact page loads its details with a script and showed none when we checked in October 2026, so the most reliable published list is the NDIC's directory of insured banks, which records RMB under merchant banks.

The phone number is printed in the older Lagos landline format. Numbers in that format have been changed by many institutions, so if the call does not connect, email first and ask for a direct line for the team you need.

The address mismatch

Two public records give different addresses. The NDIC directory says Churchgate Tower 2 on Churchgate Street. SWIFT directories such as Wise list RMB Nigeria's codes at 17A Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island. Either could be out of date. If you are delivering documents, sending a cheque or visiting, confirm the current office by email before you travel. If you are filling in a payment form, the bank address field matters less than the SWIFT code and account details, which we cover in our RMB Nigeria SWIFT code guide.

What to include when you write

Because RMB serves companies and institutions, an email that names the relationship gets routed faster than a general enquiry. Put these in the first lines:

  • Your company name and, if you have one, your relationship manager's name.
  • The account name and the last four digits of the account number, never the full number with a PIN or password.
  • For a payment, the date, amount, currency, the reference and the SWIFT message or transaction reference from the sending bank.
  • What you want: a confirmation, a trace, a reversal, a statement or a reference letter.
  • A phone number and the hours you can be reached.

Escalating a complaint to the CBN

RMB Nigeria says it is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), so a banking complaint follows the CBN route. The CBN's guide to lodging a complaint, dated January 2022, says the institution should acknowledge your complaint and give a tracking number within three days, and that you should allow it two weeks to resolve the matter. After that you may write to the CBN's Consumer Protection Department.

  1. Complain to RMB in writing and keep the acknowledgement or tracking number.
  2. Wait two weeks from the date of the complaint.
  3. Write to The Director, Consumer Protection Department, Central Bank of Nigeria, Central Business District, Abuja, or email cpd@cbn.gov.ng. The letter can be delivered to CBN head office or any CBN branch.
  4. Include your name, address, phone, email, the institution, the account details (never a PIN or password), the date and history of the transaction, the amount, supporting documents and proof that you first complained to the bank.

Our bank complaint letter template sets this out in a form you can copy. RMB Nigeria also says it is registered with and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission, so a dispute about an investment or fund-management product may belong with the SEC rather than the CBN. The general routes are in how to complain about a bank or fintech.

Watch for impersonation

Banks that serve companies are a frequent target of invoice and payment-diversion fraud: an email that looks like it comes from a bank or a supplier asks you to pay into a new account. RMB will not ask for your PIN, password or token code. If an email asks you to change payment details, call a number you already hold for the bank or supplier, not one in the email, before you act.

What to check first

  • Are you dealing with RMB Nigeria, the merchant bank, or RMB Nigeria Asset Management, which RMB lists separately in its network? They may handle enquiries differently.
  • Is the message really from RMB? Check that emails come from an rmb.com.ng address before you send documents.
  • For a payment trace, ask the sending bank for its SWIFT reference first; RMB will need it.
  • Read what RMB Nigeria offers if you are not sure it serves your type of customer.

Questions people ask

What is the customer care number of Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria?

The NDIC insured banks directory lists +234 (0)1 463 7900, written in the older Lagos format. RMB's own contact page did not display a number when we checked in October 2026, so email info@rmb.com.ng if the call does not connect.

What is the email address of RMB Nigeria?

info@rmb.com.ng, as listed in the NDIC directory of insured banks. Check that replies come from an rmb.com.ng address.

Where is Rand Merchant Bank office in Lagos?

The NDIC lists 12th Floor, Churchgate Tower 2, Plot PC 31 Churchgate Street, Victoria Island. SWIFT directories list 17A Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island. Confirm by email before visiting.

How do I report RMB Nigeria to the CBN?

Complain to the bank first and allow two weeks. Then write to the Director, Consumer Protection Department, CBN, Abuja, or email cpd@cbn.gov.ng with your documents and proof of your first complaint.
