Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

2018OjirehPrime Card

A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.

2020Microfinance bank

PrymeSolid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Loans

QuickCredit vs PayDay Loan vs Click Credit: bank loans compared

GTBank, Access Bank and UBA digital loans side by side: published rates, fees, limits, tenors and USSD codes, with the cost of a ₦100,000 loan.

The short answer

On published terms, GTBank QuickCredit charges 2.95% a month over up to 12 months, Access Bank's PayDay Loan charges 10% flat for about 30 days plus ₦1,300 in fees, and UBA Click Credit is quoted by a comparison site at 1.58% to 3% a month over 3 to 12 months. They suit different needs: QuickCredit and Click Credit spread repayment, PayDay is a one-month bridge.

Three salary-linked bank loans, three different shapes

GTBank QuickCredit, Access Bank PayDay Loan and UBA Click Credit are the digital loans Nigerian salary earners compare most often. All three are offered to existing customers through USSD and the bank's app, all three look at salary history and credit bureau records. Where they differ is in how the price is stated and how long you have to repay, and those two things decide what the loan costs you.

The sources are not equal, and this comparison says so. GTBank's figures come from its own QuickCredit page. Access Bank's come from its Key Facts Statement, which is dated October 2022 and may since have changed. We could not find a current UBA page with Click Credit pricing, so UBA's figures come from a NairaCompare ranking published in March 2026. Treat the UBA row as unverified and check the offer in the UBA app.

What ₦100,000 costs for one month

The fairest single comparison is the cost of borrowing the same sum for the same time. Here is ₦100,000 for one month, as a worked example on the published figures:

  • GTBank QuickCredit: 2.95% interest is ₦2,950, plus ₦1,000 insurance, for a total cost of ₦3,950. In practice QuickCredit is usually taken over several months, so the one-month figure is a floor.
  • Access PayDay Loan: 10% flat is ₦10,000, plus ₦1,000 management and ₦300 insurance, for ₦11,300. The Key Facts Statement gives this exact example and a repayment of ₦111,300.
  • UBA Click Credit: on the third-party range, interest would be ₦1,580 to ₦3,000. Fees are not confirmed, so check the app before relying on this.

The Access figure stands out because the 10% is charged for a single month: the KFS states the annual equivalent as 120%. That does not make PayDay a bad product. It is designed for a short gap until salary arrives, it involves one repayment, and it suits people who will not want three or twelve deductions. But if your need will outlast one pay cycle, rolling a PayDay loan month after month costs far more than a loan with monthly instalments. Our guide on APR versus flat fees explains why the annual figure matters.

Which shape suits which need

A gap of a few weeks
A one-month product like PayDay keeps it simple: one repayment, done. Compare its total cost with an overdraft before you choose; see overdraft versus loan app.
A larger cost spread over months
QuickCredit or Click Credit let you repay in instalments; choose the shortest tenor you can afford.
Uncertain income
Any of the three will deduct on the due date. If salary is late, the late charges begin. Access's KFS sets 1% flat per month on amounts more than seven days overdue; GTBank's page sets 1% flat per month on unpaid sums.

What to check first

  1. Note how the rate is stated: per month, flat for the whole loan, or per year.
  2. Add every fee: insurance, management and VAT where charged.
  3. Multiply instalment by number of payments to get the total repaid.
  4. Check that the repayment date falls after your salary date.
  5. Look for a Key Facts Statement or offer summary and keep a screenshot.

For each bank in more detail, see GTBank QuickCredit rates, Access PayDay Loan rates and UBA Click Credit rates.

Where Pryme fits

If the reason you are borrowing is a specific everyday purchase, such as food shopping, a pharmacy run or a trip, Loans on Spaces is another shape: Solid Allianze MFB may offer a limit, the full agreement is shown, and you accept before anything is drawn. It can only be spent with merchants in Spaces.

Questions people ask

Which is cheaper, GTBank QuickCredit or Access PayDay Loan?

On published terms, for one month QuickCredit costs about ₦3,950 on ₦100,000 and Access PayDay about ₦11,300. PayDay is built for one month only, so compare total cost for the period you actually need.

What is the interest rate on UBA Click Credit?

A March 2026 NairaCompare ranking lists 1.58% to 3% per month. We could not confirm it on a UBA page, so check the offer in the UBA app.

Do I need to bank my salary to get these loans?

All three are aimed at salary earners and look at your salary history with the bank. Each bank sets its own eligibility rules.

Do bank loans affect my credit report?

Yes. Banks check the credit bureaus before offering a loan and report repayment behaviour. A missed payment can affect future offers.
