Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to delete your PalmCredit account and remove your card

The order to close a PalmCredit account properly: clear the loan, prove it, remove the card, ask for closure and data deletion, and uninstall last.

The short answer

To delete a PalmCredit account, first repay any loan in full and screenshot the zero balance, then remove your card in the app or have your bank block it, and ask PalmCredit support in writing to close the account and delete the personal data it no longer needs. Uninstalling the app on its own does not close the account, cancel a loan or stop card debits.

Why order matters

Most people who want to leave a loan app start by uninstalling it. That removes the app from your phone and nothing else: the account, any balance, your stored card and the data the company holds all remain. Doing the steps in order protects you from the two things that cause most trouble after people leave, which are surprise card debits and a balance you did not know was still open.

Steps to close PalmCredit

  1. Check the balance. Open the loan page. If anything is due, including late charges, repay it through the app's repay option.
  2. Prove it is cleared. Screenshot the zero balance and the full repayment history. Save copies off the phone.
  3. Remove the card. Go to the card or payment settings and remove every saved card. If the app will not allow it, note that and move on to step 5.
  4. Unlink bank accounts if the app lets you, for the same reason.
  5. Ask for closure in writing. Use the help or customer service section in the app. Say you have repaid in full, want the account closed and want personal data deleted where the company has no legal reason to keep it. Ask for written confirmation.
  6. Revoke app permissions in your phone settings: contacts, location, SMS, camera, files.
  7. Uninstall only after you have the confirmation, or after a reasonable wait with your request on record.

Removing the card when the app will not let you

Some loan apps keep a card on file while a loan is open, and some never offer a remove button. You still have options:

  • Ask your bank to block the card and issue a new one. The new card number cannot be charged under the old authorisation. Your bank will tell you any replacement fee.
  • Ask your bank whether it can stop recurring merchant charges on the existing card.
  • Keep the card's bank account low on funds only as a short-term measure; it does not end the authorisation and failed attempts may continue.

What deletion can and cannot remove

ItemAfter closure
App loginShould no longer work once the account is closed
Stored cardShould be deleted; a replaced card removes the risk regardless
Loan recordsLenders usually keep repayment records for legal and regulatory reasons
Credit bureau historyStays with the bureaus; on-time repayment counts in your favour
Data copied from your phoneAsk specifically for it to be deleted

Lenders commonly keep some records even after an account is closed, because lending rules require it. Read the privacy policy in the app for what PalmCredit says it keeps and for how long, and ask for anything else to be deleted. For how bureau records work, see credit scores in Nigeria.

Worked example: a balance you did not expect (illustrative)

You paid what you thought was the last instalment of ₦18,000. The app still shows ₦540, a late charge from one day after the due date. If you uninstall now, that ₦540 stays open, can grow under the late-payment terms in your agreement and can be reported as unpaid. Paying the ₦540 and waiting for zero takes a minute; untangling a default later takes much longer. The figures are examples.

If you still owe money but want to leave

You cannot close an account with a balance on it, and asking to delete data while a loan is open will not end the debt. If you cannot clear the loan in one payment, ask PalmCredit in writing for a repayment plan, pay to that plan through the app, and start the closure steps when the balance reaches zero. Leaving the card on file until then can be the simplest way to make sure instalments are paid on time; remove it the day the loan is cleared.

If PalmCredit does not respond

Keep your written request and any reply. If the account is not closed, card debits continue after a zero balance, or collection calls start after you have repaid, complain to the FCCPC at complaints.fccpc.gov.ng or lenderstaskforce@fccpc.gov.ng; its site also lists 0805 600 2020 and 0805 600 3030. When we read the FCCPC approved digital lenders list (page last modified 3 March 2026), we did not find PalmCredit, or Newedge Finance Limited, the company it is commonly linked to, by name. We did find apps called "PalmCredit Plus" listed under two other companies, Moblaspay Nigeria Limited and Majatech Nigeria Limited. Give the regulator the company name from your agreement.

If you have other loan apps to close, the same order works for each. Our guide to PalmCredit customer care and complaints covers disputes that arise before you close.

Where Pryme fits

If you are leaving loan apps to get your spending back under control, the Personal Assistant in a Pryme Personal Account can track bills and prepare reminders, and nothing moves without your approval. Pryme Savings Boxes keep money set aside in naira.

Questions people ask

How do I delete my PalmCredit account?

Repay in full, screenshot the zero balance, remove your card, then ask PalmCredit support in the app in writing to close the account and delete data it no longer needs. Uninstall last.

Will uninstalling PalmCredit stop debits?

No. Uninstalling leaves the account and the saved card in place. Remove the card or have your bank replace it.

How do I remove my card from PalmCredit?

Use the card or payment settings in the app. If there is no remove option, ask your bank to block and replace the card and tell PalmCredit in writing.

Can PalmCredit delete my loan history?

Lenders usually keep repayment records for legal reasons, and credit bureau records stay with the bureaus. You can ask for other personal data to be deleted.
