Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Banking how-tos

Kuda account number and bank name senders should pick

Where to find your Kuda account number, which bank name senders choose in other apps (Kuda or Kuda MFB), and how to avoid money landing elsewhere.

The short answer

Your Kuda account number sits under your account name on the profile screen: tap your profile picture at the top left, then tap it again. Senders should pick "Kuda" or "Kuda Microfinance Bank" (sometimes shown as Kuda MFB) in their bank list, and must see your name come up before they send.

Finding your account number in the app

  1. Open the Kuda app and sign in.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top-left corner of the dashboard.
  3. Tap the picture again. Your account number appears under your account name.
  4. Copy it, or share it with your name exactly as the app shows it.

Kuda customers can also send to each other by Kuda username, according to the titles on Kuda's help centre, but a sender at another bank always needs the account number.

Which bank name senders should choose

Different banks label Kuda differently in their lists. Kuda's own FAQ (July 2026) gives the bank name as Kuda and lists bank code 50211. Its USSD help page tells Wema users to choose "Kuda MFB" and Zenith and Access users to look for "Kuda Microfinance Bank" under Other Banks. All of these are the same institution.

Where it showsLabel you may see
Kuda's own FAQKuda (bank code 50211)
Zenith and Access USSD menusKuda Microfinance Bank
Wema USSD menuKuda MFB
Other bank appsUsually Kuda, Kuda Bank or Kuda MFB

Some lists also contain banks with similar-sounding names. The safe rule: after typing the number and choosing the bank, the sender's app runs a name check. If your name does not appear exactly, stop and pick again. For details Kuda does not support, note that its FAQ says there is no SWIFT code and accounts send and receive only in naira, so a sender abroad cannot pay a Kuda account by international wire.

Why a payment into Kuda may not land

  • Wrong bank chosen. If the name check returned someone else's name and the sender went ahead, the money went to a different account. See reversing a wrong transfer.
  • Your account is at a basic level. Kuda's FAQ says accounts opened with only name, phone and BVN have a ₦300,000 maximum balance and ₦50,000 maximum per deposit. Its pending-transfers page says money above your limit can hang until you upgrade.
  • BVN not confirmed. Kuda says transfers can hang where it cannot confirm a BVN on the account.
  • Delay at the sending bank. Check our guide to Kuda transfers not received.

A worked example (illustration only)

A client sends you ₦120,000 while your Kuda account is still at the basic level described in Kuda's FAQ, which caps each deposit at ₦50,000. The payment can sit as pending. Once you confirm your BVN and add a NIN slip or utility bill, Kuda says the transfer should come through. Upgrading before you share your number avoids the wait.

The ₦50 you may see on incoming money

Kuda's FAQ says transfers of ₦10,000 or more attract a ₦50 stamp duty, as set by the CBN. So if someone sends you ₦25,000, you may see ₦24,950 net after the charge. Our piece on the ₦50 stamp duty on Kuda explains when it applies.

Giving your details to an employer, client or platform

Payroll teams and online platforms often ask for three things: account number, account name and bank. Give all three exactly as they appear in your Kuda app, and where a form asks for a bank code, Kuda's FAQ lists 50211. A form that offers only a dropdown of commercial banks may not list Kuda; ask the payer to use the "other banks" or microfinance option rather than picking a bank with a similar name. If a platform asks for a SWIFT or IBAN, it is trying to pay you internationally, which Kuda says it does not support.

Sharing your number safely

An account number on its own cannot be used to take money out, so sharing it to receive payment is normal. What you should never share with a sender is your PIN, password or a one-time code. Be wary of a "buyer" who sends a screenshot of a transfer to your Kuda number but asks you to release goods before it shows in the app: check the balance in the app itself, not the screenshot. Our guide to evidence for payment disputes shows what to keep.

What to check first

  • Share the number with the name exactly as the app shows it.
  • Tell senders to pick Kuda, Kuda Bank or Kuda Microfinance Bank and confirm the name check.
  • Upgrade your tier before expecting large payments.
  • Keep a screenshot of the sender's receipt if anything goes missing.

Where Pryme fits

If some of your payers are abroad, a Pryme account gives local account details for NGN, USD, GBP and EUR, so each sender pays in their own currency. For proof of what arrived, any customer can generate a verifiable receipt with VerifyDoc.ai that anyone can check.

Questions people ask

What bank name should I use for Kuda?

Choose Kuda, Kuda Bank, Kuda Microfinance Bank or Kuda MFB, depending on how the sender's bank lists it. Always confirm that the name check shows the right account holder.

What is Kuda bank code?

Kuda's FAQ lists bank code 50211 and sort code 9-50211-15-1.

Where can I see my Kuda account number?

Tap your profile picture at the top left of the Kuda app, then tap it again. The number appears under your name.

Can I receive money from abroad into Kuda?

Not by international wire. Kuda's FAQ says it has no SWIFT code and supports naira only.
