Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Cities

Jobs in Asaba and what they typically pay

Who hires in Asaba, from the civil service to hospitals, hotels and builders; labelled pay bands; tax under the 2026 rules; where jobs are posted.

The short answer

Asaba's biggest employer is the Delta State Government, followed by hospitals, schools, hotels, bank branches, construction firms and a large informal trade sector. There is no official salary survey for the city, so pay is best treated as labelled ranges: entry-level private-sector roles often pay little above the ₦70,000 national minimum wage, while professional roles pay several times that. Under the tax rules in force from January 2026, the first ₦800,000 of annual income is taxed at 0%.

Asaba is an administrative city. As the capital of Delta State it hosts the state secretariat, ministries, agencies and the businesses that serve them. That shapes the job market: a large public payroll, health and education jobs, a hospitality trade fed by official visitors and events, and construction tied to government projects and new estates. This guide sets out who hires, labelled pay ranges, how tax works on your pay, and where to look.

Who hires in Asaba

Delta State Government
Ministries, departments and agencies, the civil service and local governments. Jobs are advertised through state recruitment exercises.
Health
The Federal Medical Centre Asaba, state hospitals, primary health centres and private hospitals hire doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab scientists and support staff.
Education
Public and private schools and tertiary institutions in and around the city.
Hotels and hospitality
Hotels, restaurants and event centres, with demand peaking around holidays and big events.
Banks and finance
Bank branches, microfinance banks and agent networks.
Construction and property
Builders, engineers, surveyors and artisans working on roads and estates.
Trade and services
Shops, markets, salons, transport and repairs, much of it self-employed.

Labelled pay ranges

No official salary survey exists for Asaba, so treat the table below as an illustration of how roles compare, not a promise of what any employer pays. Ask about pay, allowances and pension before you accept an offer.

Role (example ranges only)Monthly gross pay
Shop attendant, cleaner, security guard₦70,000 to ₦120,000
Hotel front desk, waiter, cashier₦80,000 to ₦150,000
Skilled artisan (electrician, tiler), per month of steady work₦150,000 to ₦350,000
Graduate entry, private sector or bank contract staff₦150,000 to ₦300,000
Nurse or teacher, private sector₦120,000 to ₦300,000
Engineer, accountant, doctor (experienced)₦400,000 to ₦1,200,000 and above

The minimum wage

The national minimum wage was raised to ₦70,000 a month by an Act signed on 29 July 2024, according to a summary by the law firm SCP. It is to be reviewed every three years. Some employers are exempt, including those with fewer than 25 employees, part-time and commission workers. The Delta State Government announced it had begun paying a new minimum wage to its workers and directed its local councils to implement it; the announcement we saw did not state the state's figure, so check with the state or your union for the amount.

Tax on your pay from 2026

Under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, effective 1 January 2026, as summarised by DLA Piper Africa in August 2026, the first ₦800,000 of annual taxable income is taxed at 0%, the next ₦2.2 million at 15%, the next ₦9 million at 18%, the next ₦13 million at 21%, the next ₦25 million at 23%, and income above ₦50 million at 25%. People who earn the national minimum wage or less are exempt. Pension contributions and rent relief can reduce taxable income.

Worked example

Example only, before pension, rent relief or other deductions. Monthly pay of ₦250,000 is ₦3,000,000 a year. The first ₦800,000 is taxed at 0% and the next ₦2,200,000 at 15%, which is ₦330,000 a year, or ₦27,500 a month. Deductions would reduce this. Your employer's payslip should show the tax taken.

Before you accept an offer

Gross pay is only part of a package. In Asaba, as elsewhere, two offers with the same headline figure can be worth very different amounts once allowances and deductions are counted.

  • Ask whether the figure is gross or net, and what is deducted: tax, pension, any staff loan.
  • Ask about transport, housing and lunch allowances, which some employers pay separately.
  • Check whether you will be a permanent employee or on contract through an outsourcing agency; contract staff often earn less and have fewer benefits.
  • Ask whether the employer enrols staff on the Delta State health scheme's formal plan, which also covers a spouse and up to four children.
  • Get the offer in writing, with the start date and pay date.

Where jobs are posted

  • State recruitment notices on official Delta State Government channels; beware of anyone asking for money to 'secure' a government job.
  • Hospital and school notice boards and websites.
  • National online job boards and professional networks, filtered by Asaba or Delta State.
  • Hotels and shops often hire by word of mouth or a sign on the door; ask in person.

Genuine employers do not charge application fees for jobs. See money scams common in Asaba. To compare pay with living costs, see cost of living in Asaba, and for managing a salary, how to budget on a Nigerian salary.

Where Pryme fits

A Pryme Personal Account can receive your salary, and Savings Boxes help set aside rent and other yearly costs from each payday (Savings Boxes). Employers in Asaba with a Pryme Business Account can run payroll from the app (payroll).
