We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Should money for a sibling's business in Nigeria be a loan, a gift or a stake? How to document each, tax points abroad, and ways to avoid family disputes.
Decide before you send the money whether it is a gift, a loan or a share in the business, and write it down; most family disputes come from never having agreed. A loan needs a short signed agreement with the amount, repayment schedule and what happens if payments stop; Nigerian lawyers note that limitation periods for simple contract debts are commonly six years and an acknowledgment must be in writing. A gift needs only a note saying it is a gift. Tax rules where you live can treat forgiven loans as gifts, so keep records.
Supporting a brother's shop, a sister's catering business or a cousin's farm is one of the most common ways Nigerians abroad help family. It is also one of the most common causes of family fallouts, usually because one side thought it was a gift and the other thought it was a loan. The cure is simple: decide what it is, tell them, and write it down.
| Gift | Loan | Share in the business | |
|---|---|---|---|
| You expect back | Nothing | The amount, sometimes with interest, on a schedule | A share of profits or of the sale value |
| Paperwork | A short note or message saying it is a gift | A signed loan agreement | Shareholding or partnership documents, often via CAC |
| If the business fails | No claim | The debt remains unless you forgive it | You share the loss |
| Family risk | Lowest, if you can truly let it go | Tension if repayments stop | Disagreements over how the business is run |
A useful rule is to only lend what you could afford to turn into a gift. If losing the money would damage the relationship or your own finances, give less.
A Lagos law firm's guide on debt recovery notes that under state limitation laws simple contract debts are commonly barred after six years, that limitation bars the remedy rather than the debt, and that an acknowledgment of the debt must be in writing signed by the person liable. Getting your sibling to confirm the balance in writing each year keeps the record clear. This is general information, not legal advice.
Example: you lend your sister ₦3,000,000 to expand a bakery, interest-free, repayable at ₦125,000 a month starting six months after the money arrives. That schedule repays the loan over 24 months (24 × ₦125,000 = ₦3,000,000), so the final payment falls 30 months after the money was sent. If sales dip, the agreement allows a three-month pause once, after which the schedule continues.
Say so clearly in writing, for example in a message: "This ₦2,000,000 is a gift for your business. I do not expect it back." That protects your sibling from claims by other relatives later and protects you from feeling owed. Decide too whether you expect to be consulted on how it is used; if you do, say so.
Taking a stake gives you a say and a share of profits, but it needs proper structure: usually a registered company with you as a shareholder, or a written partnership agreement. Agree who runs it, what reports you get, and how either side can exit. If the business is not yet registered, CAC registration is the first step; see business name or limited company.
Rules differ by country. In the US, the IRS Form 709 instructions say gift tax may apply to forgiving a debt and to interest-free or below-market loans, and the annual gift exclusion for 2025 was $19,000 per recipient. In the UK, gifts can count for Inheritance Tax if you die within seven years, with exemptions such as £3,000 a year. On the Nigerian side, the NGEX diaspora guide hosted by NiDCOM says personal gifts are not taxable income. Interest you receive on a loan may be taxable where you live. Ask an adviser if the sums are large.
With a Pryme account you can convert with Swap (the app shows the rate and the fee before you approve) and send naira to the business, keeping each transfer as evidence; a verifiable receipt or statement from VerifyDoc.ai helps if the paperwork is ever questioned. If your sibling's business takes payments, a Pryme Business Account can be opened too. See also keeping a record of money you send family.
Only lend what you could afford to turn into a gift. If you need it back, write a short loan agreement; if not, say clearly in writing that it is a gift.
A written agreement signed by both sides is evidence of the debt. Lawyers note limitation periods of about six years for simple contract debts, and acknowledgments must be in writing.
Nigeria does not treat personal gifts as taxable income, per the NGEX guide hosted by NiDCOM. Your own country may have gift or inheritance rules; in the US, forgiven loans can count as gifts.
Agree terms before paying, tell other siblings, pay the business directly, and review the arrangement after a year. Mediation is an option if things break down.
