Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Banking how-tos

Fidelity Bank domiciliary account and SWIFT code

Fidelity Bank's SWIFT code is FIDTNGLA. Here is how to receive dollars, pounds and euros, the correspondent banks, and what a domiciliary account needs.

The short answer

Fidelity Bank's SWIFT (BIC) code is FIDTNGLA, according to its 2025 SWIFT transfer details sheet, which routes US dollar inflows through Citibank N.A. New York (CITIUS33) and pound and euro inflows through Citibank N.A. London (CITIGB2L). To receive money you need a Fidelity domiciliary account in that currency; Fidelity's diaspora domiciliary account opens with $50, €50 or £50.

Fidelity's SWIFT code and correspondent banks

Fidelity Bank Plc publishes a two-page sheet, "Fidelity Bank details for SWIFT transfers" (2025), linked from its diaspora banking page. It sets out what the person abroad should put in each field of a SWIFT MT103 payment. We read it in October 2026.

CurrencyCorrespondent (field 56)Correspondent SWIFTBeneficiary bank (field 57)
US dollarsCitibank N.A., 111 Wall Street, New YorkCITIUS33 (with an ABA number on the sheet)Fidelity Bank Plc, FIDTNGLA
British poundsCitibank N.A., LondonCITIGB2L (sort code 18-50-08)Fidelity Bank Plc, FIDTNGLA, with a GBP IBAN
EurosCitibank N.A., LondonCITIGB2LFidelity Bank Plc, FIDTNGLA, with a separate EUR IBAN

Field 59, the beneficiary, is your own name and your Fidelity domiciliary account number. The sheet also carries Fidelity's account number or IBAN at each correspondent. We have not reprinted those numbers here on purpose: correspondent details change, and a sender who copies an old number from a website risks a returned or delayed payment. Download the current sheet from fidelitybank.ng, or ask True Serve, and send that to whoever is paying you.

SWIFT code versus the local bank code

The SWIFT code is for international payments only. For naira transfers inside Nigeria, senders pick "Fidelity Bank" from the list in their banking app, which carries the bank's three-digit Nigerian bank code in the background. We did not find that code on a Fidelity page we could read, so we have not printed it; if a form asks for it, ask True Serve. Our explainer on IBAN, sort code, routing number and SWIFT covers the differences.

What the sender abroad needs

  1. Your full name exactly as on the Fidelity account.
  2. Your Fidelity domiciliary account number in the currency being sent. A naira account number will not do for a dollar transfer.
  3. Fidelity's SWIFT code: FIDTNGLA.
  4. The correspondent bank details for that currency from Fidelity's current sheet.
  5. A clear payment reference, such as "family support" or "invoice 104".

Fidelity's diaspora FAQ says there is no limit on how much you can transfer into your account, and that you can also be funded through international money transfer operators. The sender's bank and any intermediary may take fees, so the amount that arrives can be lower than the amount sent.

If a transfer does not arrive

International transfers are not instant. If the money has not arrived after the time the sender's bank quoted, ask the sender for a copy of the MT103, the SWIFT payment message that Fidelity's sheet is laid out around. It shows the date, amount, fields used and a reference. Send it to True Serve so the bank can trace the payment, and check that the name in field 59 matches your account exactly.

Opening a Fidelity domiciliary account

Fidelity offers domiciliary accounts in US dollars, British pounds and euros. Its diaspora domiciliary account, for Nigerians living abroad, lists these features and requirements, as at October 2026:

Minimum opening balance
$50, €50 or £50
Minimum operating balance
$30, €30 or £20
Extras
Internet banking, email alerts and statements; standing orders; foreign currency drafts; optional nominee joint signatory resident in Nigeria
Documents
Diaspora account opening form; one passport photo; notarised or certified ID; notarised or certified proof of address from the last three months; two references from holders of Nigerian current, domiciliary or corporate accounts
Who can certify
Notary public, court, lawyer or solicitor; Nigerian embassy, high commission or consulate; your foreign bankers; government security agencies; Commissioner for Oaths

Fidelity's FAQ adds that diaspora accounts can be opened online at eserve.fidelitybank.ng/diaspora or by emailing scanned forms to diasporacustomerservice@fidelitybank.ng, and that a BVN is required. If you live in Nigeria, the savings range also includes a Fidelity Domiciliary Savings Account for receiving US dollar transfers; ask your branch for its current requirements, as the resident documents are not set out on the page we read.

Worked example: what arrives

Example only. A relative in the US sends $1,000 to your Fidelity dollar account. Their bank charges them a sending fee, and an intermediary deducts $15 in transit. You receive $985. If they choose to pay all charges themselves (the "OUR" option on many bank forms), the full $1,000 should arrive, but they pay more upfront. Ask the sender which option they chose if the amount is short.

Using the dollars once they arrive

  • Spend abroad with the Fidelity dollar card; see Fidelity dollar card limits.
  • Transfer to another domiciliary account by online banking.
  • Convert to naira at the bank's rate when you choose.
  • Withdraw cash at a branch where available; see withdrawing dollar cash.

Where Pryme fits

A Pryme account gives you local account details for USD, GBP and EUR as well as naira, and money stays in the currency it arrived in until you choose to swap; see multicurrency accounts.

Questions people ask

For the diaspora domiciliary account, $50, €50 or £50, with a minimum operating balance of $30, €30 or £20, as at October 2026.
