You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

A labelled budget for a family of four in Umuahia: rent, feeding, school fees, power, transport and health, with how two incomes cover it.
In our labelled example, a family of four in Umuahia renting a two-bedroom flat with two children in private school needs about ₦560,000 a month, with feeding (₦180,000) and rent (₦100,000) the biggest lines. That is eight times the ₦70,000 minimum wage, so most families covering it rely on two incomes, trading on the side or support from relatives.
Family budgets in Umuahia are shaped by three things: school fees, which arrive in three lumps a year; feeding, which in Abia is pushed up by staple prices; and power, split between EEDC tokens and generator fuel. This guide sets out an example family budget line by line and explains what drives each line, using official data where it exists.
Example only: two adults, two children aged 6 and 10 in private primary school, renting a two-bedroom flat, one car shared or none, cooking at home.
| Line | Example monthly cost |
|---|---|
| Rent (₦1,200,000 a year, spread monthly) | ₦100,000 |
| Feeding and cooking gas | ₦180,000 |
| School fees (two children at ₦90,000 a term, spread over 12 months) | ₦45,000 |
| School extras (books, uniforms, lunch, PTA) | ₦10,000 |
| Transport (school runs, work, market) | ₦50,000 |
| EEDC prepaid token | ₦25,000 |
| Generator fuel and servicing | ₦40,000 |
| Water | ₦10,000 |
| Health (insurance contribution or clinic visits) | ₦15,000 |
| Data, airtime, TV | ₦15,000 |
| Toiletries and household | ₦20,000 |
| Extended family, church, events | ₦20,000 |
| Savings | ₦30,000 |
| Total | ₦560,000 |
NBS food data for April 2026 recorded Abia with the highest average price of white garri in Nigeria, ₦1,075.47 a kilo against a national ₦808.96, while palm oil in Abia was the cheapest in the country at ₦2,024.41 a bottle. Food inflation nationally was 19.59% in September 2026. For a family, bulk buying of rice, garri and beans at the main markets once a month usually beats daily buying.
Fees fall due in September, January and April. Spreading them across the year, as in the table, only works if you actually set the money aside monthly. Our example of ₦90,000 a term per child gives ₦540,000 a year for two, or ₦45,000 a month. See private school fees in Umuahia for ranges.
On EEDC's Band A rate of ₦209.50 per kWh plus 7.5% VAT (July 2024 notice still on its tariff page in October 2026), ₦25,000 buys about 111 kWh. Band B costs ₦66.47 before VAT, so the same money goes about three times further. Families on poorly supplied feeders spend more on fuel instead.
If either parent is an Abia civil servant, the state's formal-sector health insurance, launched in April 2025, covers dependants for a contribution of up to 5% of basic salary. Others pay clinic bills directly, which is why the line above is an average across a year.
The national minimum wage is ₦70,000 a month. Abia began paying it to state workers in October 2024 and corrected the structure for grade levels 1 to 17 in February 2025. Our ₦560,000 example is eight times that floor, so it suits a household with two mid-level salaries or a salary plus a business. A household on less adjusts by renting a smaller flat, choosing a public or lower-fee school, and cutting generator hours.
Monthly budgets hide the months that break families. Plan for these lumps:
| When | Payment | Example amount |
|---|---|---|
| September | First-term school fees, uniforms, books | ₦180,000 + ₦40,000 |
| December | Christmas travel, gifts, village events | ₦200,000 |
| January | Second-term fees | ₦180,000 |
| April | Third-term fees | ₦180,000 |
| Rent anniversary | Next year's rent | ₦1,200,000 |
Example figures. The rent renewal alone is twelve times the monthly rent line, so the ₦100,000 a month in the table has to be put aside, not spent. Families who pay rent from a single December bonus or a loan tend to fall behind the following year.
With two earners, losing one salary cuts income sharply while most costs stay. A reserve of three months of essential spending (rent share, feeding, fees and power) is a sensible target; in this example that is about ₦1,000,000. Build it slowly, a fixed amount each month, and keep it somewhere you will not spend it by accident.
Families with one parent in the Abia civil service should also check that the health insurance deduction on the payslip has translated into an enrolment card for each dependant, so the cover is actually usable when a child falls ill.
Separate Savings Boxes can hold rent and school fees apart from spending money. The Personal Assistant (default name Eva) can remind you when fees and bills are due and prepare payments for you to approve. For one person's numbers, see cost of living in Umuahia.
Our example puts it at about ₦560,000 a month with two children in private school and a two-bedroom flat. Public schools and smaller rent bring it down a lot.
In our example, feeding at ₦180,000, then rent at ₦100,000. NBS data shows Abia's garri price was the highest in Nigeria in April 2026.
Divide the year's fees by 12 and set that amount aside every month, so the September, January and April bills are ready.
The formal-sector scheme for civil servants covers dependants. For other families, ask the Abia State Health Insurance Agency about current plans.
