Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.
One global account for your money and business. Move across currencies, automate everyday operations and put AI agents to work — with you in control of every important decision.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

We give the buyer a one-time account number. They transfer to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Hiring someone who lives and works in Nigeria from an Irish company? What the contract must say, which law governs it, and the Nigerian terms you need.
Write the contract to satisfy Nigerian law first, because the employee works in Nigeria: the Labour Act (s.7) requires written particulars, including pay, hours, holidays, sick pay and notice, within three months of the start date. You can choose Irish law to govern the contract, but that does not switch off Nigerian payroll duties such as PAYE, which PwC says employers remit by the 10th of the following month. Take advice from a lawyer in each country before signing.
An Irish company that hires a person who lives in Lagos or Abuja and works from there is, in practical terms, employing someone in Nigeria. The contract can be signed in Dublin, priced in euro and written on Irish letterhead, but the employee's day-to-day work, tax residence and statutory protections sit in Nigeria. That is the starting point for every clause.
Two questions get mixed up here and are worth separating:
Whether an Irish court or a Nigerian court would apply Irish law to someone working only in Nigeria, and how far either would let the chosen law reduce local protections, is a legal question this article does not settle. Ask an Irish employment solicitor and a Nigerian labour lawyer together; the cost is small next to a dispute fought in two jurisdictions.
WageIndicator's Nigeria summary of the Labour Act (updated 15 March 2025) sets out section 7: a written contract must be given to the worker within three months of the start of employment, and it must state:
The same summary says changes to these particulars must be notified to the worker within a month, that the law neither sets nor bans a probation period (three to six months is common practice), and that there are no special statutory rules for fixed-term contracts. It also notes the Act does not apply to some public servants and to crew on vessels and aircraft. Read the Act itself, or have your Nigerian lawyer confirm, whether the role you are hiring falls within its definition of a worker; many contracts follow section 7 anyway as good practice.
| Clause | What to write | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Governing law and forum | The chosen law and the courts or arbitration that hear disputes | Avoids an argument about jurisdiction before any argument about substance |
| Pay currency and date | Currency (naira, euro or dollars), gross amount, pay date, who bears transfer costs | PAYE is calculated in naira at the CBN rate on payment, per DLA Piper (28 Aug 2026) |
| Tax and deductions | That the employer will deduct and remit Nigerian PAYE and pension where required | PwC says PAYE is remitted by the 10th of the following month and the annual return is due 31 January |
| Place of work | Home address or co-working space in Nigeria; no authority to sign contracts for the company | Limits the risk of a taxable presence; see our note on permanent establishment |
| Data and confidentiality | Access to Irish customer data, security rules, return of devices | GDPR follows the Irish company; see our GDPR note |
| Equipment and expenses | Laptop, internet allowance, power backup costs | Common source of disputes when not written down |
| Termination | Notice each way, summary dismissal for serious misconduct, final pay | WageIndicator notes serious misconduct can justify termination without notice |
On tax: PwC's Nigeria pages (reviewed 29 May 2026) treat an individual as resident if, among other tests, they have a permanent home available in Nigeria or spend 183 days or more there in a 12-month period, and residents are taxed on worldwide income. An employee living in Nigeria will almost always be Nigerian tax resident, so Nigerian PAYE applies to the salary. How an Irish company with no Nigerian entity registers to run PAYE is a step to confirm with the relevant state tax authority, or to hand to a local payroll provider or an employer of record. See Nigerian PAYE for staff hired by an Irish company and using an employer of record.
Many Irish firms start with a consultancy agreement instead. That is lawful where the person runs their own business, sets their own hours, uses their own tools and can work for others. If you control hours, provide equipment, set leave and integrate the person into your team, you have an employee in substance, whatever the paper says. Our guide to hiring a Nigerian contractor or employee from Ireland walks through the trade-offs.
Once the contract is signed, a Pryme Business Account holds euro and naira in one place, so you can pay a Lagos salary in the currency the contract states. Payroll prepares the run and a person approves it; the app shows the rate and the fee before you approve each payment.
Under the Labour Act, as summarised by WageIndicator, written particulars must be given within three months of the start date. Irish employers usually issue a full contract on day one.
Yes, you can choose Irish law. Whether that choice overrides Nigerian protections for someone working in Nigeria is a question for lawyers in both countries.
The employee is usually Nigerian tax resident, and Nigerian PAYE applies. The employer deducts and remits it; PwC says remittance is due by the 10th of the following month.
The contract can set any currency. DLA Piper notes PAYE is calculated in naira at the CBN rate on the payment date.
