Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Who deducts Nigerian PAYE when an Irish company hires in Nigeria, the 2026 tax bands, state remittance dates, penalties and a worked monthly example.
Nigerian PAYE is deducted by the Nigerian employer, which for an Irish company means its own Nigerian entity or an employer of record, and it is paid to the State Internal Revenue Service where the employee is taxed, not to Revenue in Ireland. PwC says PAYE is remitted by the 10th of the month after salaries are paid, with an annual return by 31 January. From 2026 the bands start with 0% on the first ₦800,000 a year and rise to 25% above ₦50 million.
PAYE in Nigeria is an employer's job: the employer works out the tax on each salary, deducts it and pays it over. An Irish company with no Nigerian entity is not set up to do this, which is why most Irish firms either form a Nigerian subsidiary or use an employer of record (EOR) that is already registered as a Nigerian employer. See employer of record for Nigerian staff.
If neither exists and the Irish company simply pays a person in Nigeria, that person is not on a Nigerian payroll. DLA Piper's August 2026 payroll guide notes that an employee living in Nigeria and earning income from foreign employers is required to register for tax. In other words, the tax does not disappear; it moves to the individual, and the arrangement may also raise questions about whether the person is really a contractor. See contractor or employee.
Personal income tax on employees is collected by the states. PwC describes the collector as the "relevant State Internal Revenue" service. For staff living in Lagos that is the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), whose eTax portal uses Payer IDs with an N- prefix for individuals and C- for companies; Form H1 is the employer's annual return. The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS, formerly FIRS) handles federal taxes such as company income tax, not your Lagos employees' PAYE.
The Nigeria Tax Act took effect on 1 January 2026. PwC's summary, reviewed on 29 May 2026, sets out these annual bands:
| Annual taxable income | Rate |
|---|---|
| First ₦800,000 | 0% |
| Next ₦2,200,000 | 15% |
| Next ₦9,000,000 | 18% |
| Next ₦13,000,000 | 21% |
| Next ₦25,000,000 | 23% |
| Above ₦50,000,000 | 25% |
PwC adds that employees earning no more than the national minimum wage (₦70,000 a month) are not liable to tax or monthly PAYE deduction. DLA Piper notes that pension contributions are deducted from taxable income and that rent relief is 20% of rent paid, capped at ₦500,000. For a fuller walk-through of the bands, see Nigeria PAYE tax bands for 2026.
A Lagos-based analyst employed by your Nigerian subsidiary earns ₦7,000,000 a year. This example uses only pension and rent relief and ignores any other reliefs.
If the salary is agreed in euro, DLA Piper says it is converted to naira at the CBN rate at the time of payment for PAYE. A euro salary therefore produces a different naira tax figure each month as the rate moves.
Nigerian PAYE does not settle any Irish question. Revenue taxes Irish-resident companies on worldwide profits, and whether any Irish payroll obligation arises for staff working abroad is a question for your Irish adviser. Revenue's residence test for individuals uses 183 days in a tax year, or 280 days across two years. If a Nigerian employee spends long periods in Ireland, ask an Irish adviser whether Irish PAYE also applies. We have not confirmed whether an Ireland-Nigeria tax treaty is in force, so do not assume treaty relief.
For a Nigerian subsidiary on a Pryme Business Account, the payroll tools and the Finance agent can prepare the monthly run and a list of the PAYE due by state. A person approves above a set ceiling, and actions are recorded. The Irish parent can fund it in naira after converting with Swap, seeing the rate and fee first. See also paying staff in Nigeria.
No. Nigerian PAYE goes to the State Internal Revenue Service where the employee is taxed, such as LIRS for Lagos. Revenue in Ireland deals with Irish taxes only.
PwC's summary of the Nigeria Tax Act shows the first ₦800,000 of annual taxable income taxed at 0%. Minimum-wage earners are not liable to PAYE.
On or before the 10th of the month after salaries are paid, according to PwC. The annual return of emoluments is due by 31 January.
It is calculated in naira. DLA Piper says foreign-currency pay is converted at the CBN rate at the time of payment.
