Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2018OjirehPrime Card

2023Multicurrency

2026Agentic operations

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

DStv customer care Nigeria: numbers, WhatsApp, self-service

How to reach DStv in Nigeria: the MyDStv app, dstv.com, walk-in centres and phone, what to prepare, and where to take a complaint DStv does not resolve.

The short answer

In Nigeria, DStv's self-service routes are the MyDStv app and dstv.com, which handle payments, package changes and many faults without a call, and walk-in service centres handle in-person issues. We could not confirm DStv's current phone or WhatsApp numbers on an official page in October 2026, so take them only from dstv.com or the app; if DStv does not resolve a consumer complaint, you can take it to the FCCPC.

Start with self-service

Many DStv problems can be solved without speaking to anyone. tech.africa's DStv guide, updated in October 2026, lists the MyDStv app and dstv.com as the main ways to manage and pay an account, alongside walk-in service centres and retailers for payment. Self-service usually covers:

  • Checking the package and due date for each decoder (see checking your due date).
  • Paying or renewing a subscription.
  • Changing package, up or down.
  • Clearing common error messages by resending the signal to the decoder.
  • Reconnecting after a payment that has not reflected.

Phone and WhatsApp

Many websites list DStv Nigeria phone numbers and a WhatsApp number. We could not confirm the current numbers on an official DStv page we opened in October 2026, so we do not repeat them here. Get the number from the Contact or Help section of dstv.com or inside the MyDStv app, which is the safest way to be sure you are talking to DStv.

Walk-in service centres

For decoder swaps, ownership changes, damaged equipment or problems the app cannot fix, a walk-in service centre is the route. Find the nearest one through dstv.com. Take your smartcard number (see finding it), the decoder if the problem is with the hardware, a valid ID, and your payment receipts.

What to have ready for any contact

Smartcard and customer number
Identifies your decoder and account
Account holder's name
As registered; the agent will check it
Receipts
Transaction reference, date, amount, payment channel
Error code
Exactly as shown on screen, such as E16 or E48
What you want
Reconnection, refund, package change, repair

Ask for a reference number for every complaint and note the date and time of each contact.

Escalating a complaint

  1. Complain to DStv first, through the app, website, phone line or a service centre, and keep the reference.
  2. Follow up in writing. Send a short message through an official DStv channel summarising the complaint, the reference, the dates and what you want.
  3. Escalate to the regulator. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) handles consumer complaints about goods and services in Nigeria, including pay-TV billing. Give it your DStv reference and copies of receipts. The FCCPC has also been involved in disputes with MultiChoice over pricing; see the price lock and the FCCPC case.
  4. Keep records of everything; a complaint with dates and receipts is far easier to resolve.

This is general information about consumer routes, not legal advice.

Common problems and the quickest route

ProblemTry firstIf that fails
Paid but channels still offWait a short while, then use the reconnect or resend option in the appContact DStv with the receipt and smartcard number
Error code on screenLook up the code and use the app's fix optionPhone support or a service centre
Wrong package after paymentCheck the amount paid against the current priceAsk DStv to apply the payment to the right package
Decoder faulty or damagedRestart and check cables and dishWalk-in service centre with the decoder
Charged for something you did not orderGather receipts and statementsComplain to DStv, then the FCCPC
Change of account ownerNone in-appWalk-in service centre with ID

Starting with the quickest route matters at busy times, such as the start of a football season or after a price change, when phone lines are often congested.

Paying for someone else

If you pay a parent's or sibling's DStv from another city or from abroad, you will not see their decoder's error messages. Ask them to send a photo of the screen when something goes wrong, and keep the smartcard number and account holder's name so you can contact DStv for them. See paying bills in Nigeria from abroad.

Is it a billing problem or a price change?

Before complaining about a bill, check whether a price change explains it. DStv's prices changed on 1 March 2025: Premium went from ₦37,000 to ₦44,500 and Compact from ₦17,000 to ₦19,000 a month, according to News Central. The same figures were still listed in October 2026. Paying an old saved amount can leave you short of the package price, so the decoder does not reconnect.

Where Pryme fits

If you pay DStv from the Pryme app (TV subscriptions), each payment has a record you can turn into a receipt, including a verifiable one through VerifyDoc.ai, which helps when you need to prove a payment to DStv (receipts).

Questions people ask

What is DStv customer care number in Nigeria?

We could not confirm the current numbers on an official DStv page in October 2026. Use the number shown on dstv.com or in the MyDStv app to be sure it is DStv.

Does DStv have a WhatsApp line?

Several are circulated online. Use only a WhatsApp number shown on dstv.com or in the MyDStv app, and never pay into a personal account.

How do I complain about DStv to FCCPC?

Complain to DStv first and keep the reference, then take the complaint to the FCCPC with your receipts and the reference.

Can I fix DStv problems without calling?

Yes. The MyDStv app and dstv.com handle payments, package changes and many error codes without a call.
