Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.

2018OjirehPrime Card

A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.

2020Microfinance bank

PrymeSolid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Customer care numbers of all Nigerian banks

Official phone, email and WhatsApp lines for Nigerian banks as at October 2026, how to spot fake help desks, and how to escalate to the CBN.

The short answer

Use only the customer care numbers on your bank's own website, app or card. As at October 2026, for example, GTBank's GTConnect is +234 201 448 0000, UBA's is 0700 2255 822 and Zenith's is 0201 278 7000. No genuine bank line will ask for your PIN, OTP, password or full card number.

Before you call: the fake-line problem

Fraudsters set up social media pages, Google listings and WhatsApp accounts that look like bank help desks. A customer searching 'GTBank customer care' or 'Zenith WhatsApp number' at a stressful moment can end up talking to someone who asks for an OTP, card PIN or a 'verification' transfer. Fidelity Bank's own scam alert spells out what no genuine bank will request: your complete card number, PIN, OTP, password or BVN, or a transfer to yourself 'for fraud detection'. Treat any line that asks for those as fake, whatever its logo.

The safest source of a number is the bank itself: the back of your debit card, the bank's app (usually under Help or Contact), or the contact page of the bank's official website. The list below is compiled from those pages where we could open them, and otherwise from TechCabal's directory verified in May 2026. Numbers change, so confirm in your app before you rely on one.

Not every bank is in this table. For Ecobank, Jaiz, Keystone, Polaris, Standard Chartered, SunTrust, NOVA, Citi and the microfinance banks, use the number printed on your card or shown in the bank's app rather than a number found on social media.

How to tell a real line from a fake

  • Check the number against two official places. If it is on the bank's website and in its app, it is real. If it appears only in a Facebook comment or a WhatsApp forward, it is not to be trusted.
  • Real banks do not DM you first. If someone contacts you after you post a complaint on X or Instagram, move the conversation to the bank's verified handle or call the number on your card.
  • No genuine agent needs your PIN or OTP. An agent can log a complaint with your name, account number and the transaction details; nothing more.
  • Ask for a ticket number. A genuine contact centre logs your complaint and gives you a reference. You will need it to escalate.
  • WhatsApp banking numbers have verified business badges. Even then, save the number from the bank's own site, not from a forwarded message.

Escalating if the bank does not resolve it

The Central Bank of Nigeria expects you to complain to your bank first. Its Consumer Protection Department (CPD) complaints page says to allow the bank two weeks to resolve the issue, then escalate. TechCabal's 2026 guide notes the longer window of 30 days for complaints about loans and excess charges, and gives the CPD email as cpd@cbn.gov.ng.

  1. Complain through an official channel and write down the ticket number, date and the name of the agent.
  2. Follow up in writing by email so there is a record; attach screenshots and receipts, never your PIN or password.
  3. If the bank has not resolved it within two weeks, write to the Director, Consumer Protection Department, CBN, Central Business District, Abuja, or use the CBN's online complaint channel.
  4. Include your name, contact details, the bank, account details (no PIN), the date and amount, what happened, supporting documents and proof that you reported it to the bank first.

For failed transfers specifically, our guide on confirming the account name before a transfer explains how to prevent the most common mistake, and emergency numbers in Nigeria lists the police and emergency lines if a theft or threat is involved.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme Financial is a technology company, not a bank; Naira deposits are held by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank. Pryme support is reached through the app and the contact page, and Pryme's security uses an authenticator app rather than SMS codes. Fake assistant calls are a growing trick, covered in our guide to fake assistant calls.

Questions people ask

What is GTBank customer care number?

GTBank's contact page lists GTConnect on +234 201 448 0000 and 0700 4826 66328, plus 0802 900 2900, 0803 900 3900 and 0813 985 6000 (checked October 2026).

How do I know a bank WhatsApp number is real?

Only use a WhatsApp number shown on the bank's own website or app. Real banks never ask for your PIN, OTP, password or full card number on WhatsApp.

What do I do if my bank does not resolve my complaint?

Get a ticket number, allow the bank two weeks (30 days for loan and excess-charge complaints), then escalate to the CBN Consumer Protection Department with your evidence.

Do banks call customers to ask for their BVN or OTP?

No. Fidelity Bank's scam alert, for example, says it never requests your full card number, PIN, OTP, password or BVN.
