Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Emergency numbers in Nigeria: 112, 767 and state lines

112 is Nigeria's toll-free emergency line; Lagos also uses 767. The state lines published by NEMSAS in 2026, and what to say when you call.

The short answer

112 is Nigeria's toll-free national emergency number, which the National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (NEMSAS) reaffirmed in August 2026 as the central contact point for medical emergencies. In Lagos, 767 and 112 are both the state's toll-free emergency lines. Several states also publish their own numbers, such as 615 in Oyo; save the one for your state before you need it.

112: the national line

Nigeria's national emergency number is 112. In a notice reported by Voice of Nigeria on 20 August 2026, NEMSAS described "the toll-free 112 emergency line" as a central contact point for medical emergencies and warned that delays in seeking help can worsen a victim's condition. Because it is toll-free, it should work even when you have no airtime. The same NEMSAS guide said the 112 service was not yet operational in Benue and Imo states at the time, so residents there should save their local numbers too.

Lagos: 767 and 112

Lagos has its own short code, 767, alongside 112. Radio Nigeria Lagos reported in November 2025 that the state was running a public awareness campaign on its two emergency toll-free lines, 767 and 112, led by the Lagos State Command and Control Agency and LASEMA (the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency). Officials urged residents not to make false calls, because every hoax ties up a line someone else may need.

State lines published by NEMSAS

NEMSAS's August 2026 guide printed numbers for several states. These are reproduced as reported; numbers change, so check your state government's current list and save it in your phone.

StateNumbers as published (Aug 2026)

Rivers0904022281, 0904022283 (printed with ten digits; confirm locally)

The NEMSAS guide said it covered all 36 states and the FCT, but the report reproduced numbers for only the states above. For other states, call 112 and ask the state government or the state Ministry of Health for its own line.

Other lines worth saving

  • FRSC: the Federal Road Safety Corps lists 122 among its contact lines, alongside 0700-2255-3772 and 0807-7690-362, on its driver's licence portal.
  • Your bank's fraud line: if your card or phone is stolen, blocking your account fast matters as much as a police report. Find the number on your bank's own website or the back of your card, not from a search result; see our guide to fake bank customer care.
  • Your HMO's emergency line: printed on your insurance card; see checking an HMO.

Get ready before an emergency

An emergency is the worst time to search for a number. A few minutes now makes the call faster later.

  • Save 112 and your state's line in your phone under a name you will find quickly, such as "Emergency 112".
  • Add an emergency contact (often labelled ICE, "in case of emergency") that others can reach from your lock screen.
  • Write down allergies, regular medicines and your blood group, if you know it, and keep the note in your wallet or phone.
  • Learn how to share your live location from your phone, so you can send it to a relative or to responders if asked.
  • If you are a parent, teach older children how and when to dial 112, and that it is not a line for testing or jokes.

For workplaces, schools and estates, post the numbers by the entrance and at the security post, and check them once a year.

What to say when you call

  1. Say what has happened in one sentence: "There has been a crash", "Someone has collapsed", "A building is on fire".
  2. Give the location as exactly as you can: the street, a landmark, the bus stop, the estate gate. In Lagos traffic, "near the filling station after the bridge" can save minutes.
  3. Say how many people are hurt and whether anyone is unconscious or not breathing.
  4. Give your phone number and keep the line free so they can call back.
  5. Follow instructions, and do not hang up until told to.

If the call does not connect

Try again, then try your state line from the table. If you are in Lagos, try the other of 767 and 112. Send someone to the nearest hospital or police station if you cannot get through; in a medical emergency, moving the patient to care can be faster than waiting for a callback. Our guide to checking a hospital is registered is for planned care; in an emergency, go to the nearest facility first.

After the emergency

Emergencies often bring unplanned costs: a hospital deposit, medicines, transport. Keep receipts for everything, because an insurer, employer or relative helping with costs will ask for them. If you are paying a hospital by transfer, confirm the account name first; our guide to confirming an account name explains the check, which matters when stress makes mistakes easy.

Where Pryme fits

A Pryme Flexible Savings Box is one way to keep a Naira emergency fund separate from everyday spending, with rates shown in the app; see Savings Boxes.
