Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.

2018OjirehPrime Card

A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.

2020Microfinance bank

PrymeSolid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Loans

How to complain about a Loan on Spaces

The complaint route for a Loan on Spaces: Pryme support first, then Solid Allianze MFB as the lender, then the CBN. What to include at each step.

The short answer

Complain first to Pryme support through the app or the contact page, giving the loan reference and what went wrong. If it is not resolved, escalate to Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank, which is the lender, and if you are still not satisfied, take it to the Central Bank of Nigeria's consumer protection function, because Solid Allianze is a CBN-licensed microfinance bank.

Most problems with a loan are fixed at the first contact: a repayment that has not shown, a charge you do not recognise, a purchase that went through twice. When they are not, it helps to know who is responsible for what and where to go next. This guide sets out the route for Loans on Spaces and how to make each complaint count.

Who is responsible for what

PartyRoleComplain to them about
Pryme Financial LtdTechnology company that runs the app and supportApp errors, repayments not showing, account access, how something was displayed
Solid Allianze Microfinance BankLender, licensed by the CBNThe loan itself: balance, charges, repayment record, credit bureau reporting
The Spaces merchantSeller of the goods or serviceFaulty goods, missing items, poor service, refunds
Central Bank of NigeriaRegulator of Solid Allianze MFBUnresolved complaints about the lender

This split matters. If the groceries were spoiled, that is first a matter for the merchant, even though you paid with credit. If the loan balance is wrong, that is a matter for the lender. Pryme support can help route either.

Step 1: Pryme support

Start with support in the app or through contact. Include:

  • your name and the phone number or email on the account,
  • the loan reference and the date of the purchase,
  • the merchant's name and the amount,
  • what you expected and what happened,
  • screenshots, receipts or bank alerts, and
  • what you want: a correction, a refund, an explanation.

Keep the reference number you receive and note the date and time you complained. A verifiable receipt or statement from VerifyDoc.ai is useful evidence because anyone can check it is genuine and unaltered.

Step 2: Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank

If support has not resolved the issue, or the issue is about the loan itself, ask in writing for it to be escalated to Solid Allianze MFB as the lender. Say that you are escalating, quote your first complaint reference, and set out what remains unresolved.

The FCCPC's Digital, Electronic, Online or Non-Traditional Consumer Lending Regulations 2025 describe how responsibility is shared: dispute resolution is the responsibility of the lender in a regulated industry, and of the FCCPC where there is no applicable sector regulator (regulation 22). The regulations also note that CBN-licensed microfinance banks apply to the FCCPC for a waiver from registration (Schedule 5). For a Loan on Spaces, the sector regulator is the CBN.

Step 3: the Central Bank of Nigeria

If the lender's final response does not resolve your complaint, you can take it to the CBN's consumer protection function. The CBN's website has a consumer protection section; check it for the current channels and any time limits before you write. Our guide to complaining about a bank or fintech to the CBN covers the process in more detail.

When you write to the CBN, include copies of your complaints to Pryme support and to Solid Allianze, their replies, and a short timeline. Regulators look for evidence that the institution had a fair chance to resolve the matter.

A sample timeline

Example only. Emeka repays a ₦20,000 Loan on Spaces on 3 May but the app still shows it as due.

  1. 3 May: complains to Pryme support with his transfer alert and receives reference A.
  2. 5 May: no fix; asks for escalation to Solid Allianze MFB, quoting reference A.
  3. 12 May: receives the lender's response. If it corrects the record, he keeps the confirmation; if not, he prepares a CBN complaint with references, alerts and replies.

Special cases

Someone claiming to collect for Loans on Spaces

If a person who says they are collecting a Loan on Spaces asks you to pay into a personal account, or contacts your relatives, do not pay. Report it to Pryme support with the number, the messages and the account details they gave. Repayments are made through the app, as described in your agreement.

Concerns about your personal data

If your complaint is about how your information was used, say so clearly in your first message. Lenders must comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (FCCPC regulation 21(a)), and you may also complain to the data protection regulator if the answer does not satisfy you.

What makes a complaint work

  • One complaint per issue, written down, with evidence.
  • Specific asks: "remove the late status for 3 May" works better than "fix my account".
  • Calm, factual language. It is quicker to act on.
  • Copies of everything, kept in one place.

If your concern is a missed repayment and its effects, see what happens after a missed repayment; for questions about who lends, Solid Allianze MFB explained.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme runs the app and is your first point of contact. The loan agreement for Loans on Spaces is with Solid Allianze MFB, and that is why escalation goes to the lender and then to its regulator.

Questions people ask

Who do I complain to about a Loan on Spaces?

Start with Pryme support. If unresolved, escalate to Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank as the lender, then to the CBN's consumer protection function.

Is the FCCPC or the CBN responsible for Loans on Spaces complaints?

The lender, Solid Allianze, is a CBN-licensed microfinance bank. Under the FCCPC's 2025 regulations, disputes in a regulated industry are for the lender and its sector regulator, which here is the CBN.

What if the problem is with the merchant, not the loan?

Raise it with the merchant first, and tell Pryme support so the purchase can be looked at.

What should I include in a complaint?

Your account details, the loan reference, dates, amounts, evidence such as receipts or alerts, and what you want done.
