Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How the cocoa season in Ondo State changes cash flow, transport, rents and prices in Akure, and how households and traders can plan around it.
Cocoa money reaches Akure in lumps: when beans are harvested and sold, farm families, buyers, transporters and the shops that serve them all have more cash at once, and demand for goods, transport and labour rises. How big the lump is depends on the cocoa price, which moved from about ₦1.8 million a tonne in January 2024 to about ₦11.2 million at a Lagos warehouse by May 2024, so plan with a cautious price and keep cash for the lean months.
Ondo State is widely regarded as one of Nigeria's main cocoa areas, and Akure is its capital and market centre. Even people who never touch a cocoa pod feel the season: traders sell more, transport is busier, school fees and building projects get paid, and some landlords and sellers time their prices to the season. This guide explains how that cash flow works and how to plan around it, whether you farm, trade or simply live in the city.
Cocoa in West Africa has a main crop and a smaller mid crop. In Ondo, the main harvest is commonly described as running from around October into the first months of the new year, with sales spreading over that period. Exact timing varies by area and year, so farmers should rely on their own cooperative or buying agent for dates. For everyone else the point is simple: more cash circulates in the late part of the year, and less in the months before the next harvest.
Cocoa's naira value swings with world prices and the exchange rate. Kola King, a Nigerian agriculture newsletter, reported in May 2024 that the average price at the Matori warehouse in Lagos had reached ₦11.2 million per metric tonne, up from ₦1.8 million in January 2024, after poor weather in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana pushed world prices up and the weaker naira raised local earnings. The same report put Nigeria's 2022–23 output at 280,000 tonnes and cited USAID's estimate that about 1.4 million Nigerians depend on cocoa. Prices have moved since; ask a licensed buyer or your cooperative for today's price.
Example only. A family farm sells 2 tonnes in a season. At ₦3,000,000 a tonne it earns ₦6,000,000; at ₦8,000,000 a tonne it earns ₦16,000,000. If labour, chemicals, bags and transport cost ₦2,500,000, profit is ₦3,500,000 in the first case and ₦13,500,000 in the second. If the family spends ₦300,000 a month all year, the first case leaves ₦3,500,000 − ₦3,600,000 = a ₦100,000 shortfall; the second leaves a large surplus. The price, not the harvest, decides which year it is.
| What changes | What tends to happen in season | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Shop sales | More cash buyers, larger baskets, more credit repaid | Stock up before the peak, not during it |
| Transport | More trucks and buses moving produce and people | Book goods transport early and agree prices in writing |
| Labour | Farm work competes for casual labour | Expect higher daily rates for helpers |
| Rent and land | Some buyers and builders act with season money | Do not rush a land deal because of the season |
| Schools and celebrations | Fees, weddings and building projects are often paid then | Budget for these before the money arrives |
These are patterns traders and farmers commonly report rather than measured statistics; we found no official Akure data on seasonal prices. Fuel is one cost that moves on its own schedule: the NBS reported average petrol at ₦1,596.25 per litre nationally in May 2026, so check the pump price when you budget transport.
If you sell to farm families, the season is your busiest time, and the months before harvest your slowest. Use the peak to build a reserve for the slow months rather than expanding on the strength of one good season. If you earn a salary, the season mostly shows up as prices: some goods and services cost more when demand is high. Ondo's minimum wage was ₦73,000 a month as of April 2026, according to Nairametrics, so for many households a seasonal price rise is a real squeeze. Our cost of living in Akure guide shows a full monthly budget.
A Fixed Savings Box can lock away fees or next season's input money until the date you choose, and a Flexible Box keeps a reserve you can reach. When you sell, a verifiable statement from Pryme and VerifyDoc.ai can show a buyer or cooperative your record of payments.
The main harvest is commonly described as running from around October into the early months of the new year, with a smaller mid crop later. Ask your cooperative or buying agent for this season's dates.
It changes often. Kola King reported about ₦11.2 million a tonne at a Lagos warehouse in May 2024, up from ₦1.8 million in January 2024. Check today's price with a licensed buyer.
More cash is circulating, so demand for goods, transport and labour rises and some sellers raise prices. Budget for it before the season.
Set aside fees, rent and next season's input costs as soon as you are paid, plan on a cautious price and keep a reserve for the months before harvest.
