Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals and follows up. Nothing leaves your account without your approval.
Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.
One global account for your money and business. Move across currencies, automate everyday operations and put AI agents to work — with you in control of every important decision.

BruceCareYour competitor down the road sells the same thing you sell. The difference is who walks in. We put money in people’s hands that can only be spent in businesses like yours — and then we point them at you.
You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

No card, no OTP, nothing for the buyer to type in. They transfer from the bank app they already use, and the money lands in the same account your agents are running — already matched to the order, already in your books.
We give the buyer a one-time account number. They transfer to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Owing a lender is a civil matter, not a crime. What a court judgment can do, why a bounced cheque is different, and what to do about arrest threats.
No. In Nigeria, failing to repay a loan is a civil matter between you and the lender, so the lender's remedy is to demand payment, report the default and, if it chooses, sue you for the debt; it cannot have you jailed for owing money. The main exceptions are where a crime is involved, such as issuing a cheque that bounces or obtaining the loan by fraud.
Loan app messages that say "warrant of arrest issued" or "police are on their way" are written to frighten. This article sets out, as information rather than legal advice, what the law treats as a debt, what a lender can lawfully do, where the criminal line sits, and how to respond when someone threatens you with prison.
A loan is a contract. When you miss a repayment you are in breach of that contract, and the remedies for breach of contract are civil: the lender can claim the money, plus whatever interest and charges the agreement lawfully allows, and can ask a court to order you to pay. A civil claim does not lead to a criminal record or a prison sentence for the unpaid amount.
This is why the threats that circulate on WhatsApp do not match how the system works. A police officer has no power to recover a private debt for a lender, and a lender cannot "issue" a warrant. Only a court can issue a warrant, and only in proceedings that are properly before it.
A lender that is not paid has a set of lawful steps open to it. The FCCPC's 2025 digital lending regulations require a digital lender's agreement to state its "default recovery/enforcement methods or modalities" (Regulation 13(1)(h)), so the first place to look is your own loan agreement.
If the lender wins, the court enters judgment for a sum of money. You become a "judgment debtor", and the lender can apply to enforce the judgment. Enforcement is aimed at your assets, not your liberty. Typical routes include an order against money held for you by a bank or employer (a garnishee order) and seizure and sale of property by the court's officers. Court rules also allow the judgment creditor to summon a debtor to be examined about their means.
There is one narrow point to know. Ignoring a court order is different from owing money. Where a court has examined a debtor and ordered payment, and the debtor has the means but refuses, procedural rules in some courts allow further steps against the debtor personally. More on cheques in post-dated cheques as loan security. This follows a hearing at which you can appear, and it starts with a court document served on you, not a text from a recovery agent.
Some conduct around a loan can be a crime, even though the unpaid debt itself is not.
| Situation | Civil or criminal? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You borrowed in good faith and cannot repay on time | Civil | Breach of contract; the remedy is a claim for money |
| You wrote a cheque that was dishonoured for lack of funds | Can be criminal | Issuing a cheque that bounces is an offence under the Dishonoured Cheques (Offences) Act |
| You borrowed using a false identity, fake documents or someone else's BVN | Criminal | Obtaining money by false pretences and related fraud offences |
| You sold or hid a car or goods you had pledged to the lender | Can be criminal | Dealing with secured property to defeat the lender can attract criminal complaints as well as civil claims |
| You simply stopped answering the lender's calls | Civil | Avoiding calls is not an offence, though it often makes the outcome worse |
The cheque point matters because some lenders, especially for salary and asset loans, ask for post-dated cheques at the start. If one of those cheques is presented and bounces, the lender may make a criminal complaint about the cheque, separate from the debt. We could not open the current text of the Act while preparing this article, so we do not state its penalties here; if you have issued cheques to a lender and cannot fund them, speak to a lawyer before the presentation date.
Threats of arrest, "police invitations" sent by a loan app, and messages to your contacts saying you are a criminal are recovery tactics, not legal process. The FCCPC said in February 2024 that "the solution cannot be to violate law or utilise unethical recovery methods". Its 2025 regulations bar unfair terms and require recovery practices consistent with fair lending principles, and penalties for breaches run up to ₦100 million or 1% of the previous year's turnover for a company (Regulation 27(2)). The Commission resumed implementing those regulations on 20 July 2026 after a Federal High Court judgment in Lagos.
Loans on Spaces, lent by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank, shows the full agreement, including the amount, the cost and the repayment date, before you accept, so you know the terms before you owe anything. Details are on the credit page.
The police have no role in recovering a private debt. An unpaid loan is a civil matter. If an officer contacts you about a loan, ask what offence is alleged and seek legal help; fraud or a bounced cheque are different from owing money.
No. A loan app can demand payment, report you to credit bureaus and sue you in court. It cannot issue a warrant or have you jailed for owing money.
If the court gives judgment against you, the lender can enforce it against your money or property, for example through an order on your bank account or salary. You will be served with court papers and can appear and respond.
Issuing a cheque that is dishonoured for lack of funds is an offence under the Dishonoured Cheques (Offences) Act, separate from the debt itself. Take legal advice if you have given a lender cheques you cannot fund.
