Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Al Ansari Exchange app: daily limit for Nigeria transfers

What Al Ansari Exchange publishes about app transfer limits, what it does not, and how to send a larger amount to Nigeria through a branch.

The short answer

Al Ansari Exchange's public FAQ, last modified in June 2021, lists a maximum of AED 150,000 per transaction for its bank transfer payment method and gives no daily or monthly app limit. If the app stops you, the limit you have hit is the one shown in your own app profile; check it there or ask a branch or customer service, and bring ID and proof of funds for a larger amount.

What Al Ansari publishes

We read Al Ansari Exchange's FAQ in October 2026. Its page metadata shows it was last modified on 24 June 2021, so treat its figures as possibly out of date. It says:

  • "Maximum amount AED 150000 per transaction (Bank transfer)". No limit is stated for other payment methods.
  • No daily or monthly limit, and no route for raising a limit.
  • New customers download the app and create a membership profile, and existing customers should update their ID details in the app.
  • Funds are "available in real time for cash pick up and instant bank transfer", and value transfers within 24 to 48 working hours.
  • To cancel an app transaction, visit any branch, contact customer service or email.
  • Worldwide remittance is offered "barring a few countries which may have legal or political limitations"; Nigeria is not named either way.

A separate Al Ansari offer page, modified 21 October 2025, advertised zero-fee app transfers and also said free transactions are capped at two a month. That is a fee rule, not a sending limit.

Why the app may still stop you

Because Al Ansari does not publish a daily app limit, the cap you meet is set on your own profile, and it can depend on how fully your identity is verified, how you pay, and the provider's checks on the transfer. Common reasons the app refuses an amount:

  • Your ID in the app has expired or does not match your profile.
  • The amount is above what your profile allows for that payment method.
  • The amount or pattern triggers a review that needs documents.
  • Your card or bank has its own daily limit on the payment.

Check your Emirates ID details in the app first; an expired ID is the easiest fix. For today's figures, the app and customer service are the source, not this page.

Sending more through a branch

  1. Go to a branch with your Emirates ID, or passport if you have no Emirates ID.
  2. Bring proof of where the money came from: a salary certificate, payslips or a bank statement. See source of funds documents.
  3. Bring the recipient's exact account name, 10-digit account number and bank.
  4. Ask what limit applies at the counter for your profile, and the rate, fee and naira amount before you pay.
  5. Keep the receipt and its reference.

App or branch: which suits a larger transfer

The app is quicker for regular amounts you have sent before. A branch suits a one-off larger payment, because staff can tell you on the spot what your profile allows, check your documents and take the payment in one visit. If you need to send a very large sum, such as property money, compare a bank SWIFT transfer too; it leaves a bank-to-bank record that a Nigerian lawyer or seller can match. See Emirates NBD SWIFT transfers to Nigeria.

Limits on the Nigerian side

A larger transfer also has to be accepted in Nigeria. The recipient's account must be above Tier 1, since the CBN's tiered-KYC circular says international funds transfer is prohibited on Tier 1 accounts. Over-the-counter cash on money transfer operator payouts is capped at the naira equivalent of $200, as TheCable reported from the CBN's 2026 FX Manual, so a large amount should go to a bank account. Our wider guide covers limits from the UAE to Nigeria.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme does not set Al Ansari's limits. A Pryme account holds NGN, USD, GBP and EUR, and Pryme's Send shows the rate and the fee before you approve.

Questions people ask

What is the Al Ansari app daily limit?

Al Ansari's public FAQ gives no daily figure. It lists AED 150,000 per transaction for bank transfer payments, last modified in June 2021. Check your app profile.

How do I increase my Al Ansari limit?

The FAQ does not say. Update your ID in the app, and ask a branch or customer service what applies to your profile.

Can I send to Nigeria through Al Ansari?

Its FAQ offers worldwide remittance except a few countries with legal or political limits, without naming Nigeria. Check the destination list in the app.

Is Al Ansari's app transfer free?

An October 2025 offer advertised zero-fee app transfers and capped free transactions at two a month. Check current offers in the app.
