Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to run a 30-day AI agent pilot in a small business

A four-week plan for testing AI agents on real work: choose tasks, record a baseline, set tight limits, review every exception and decide on evidence.

The short answer

A good AI agent pilot runs for about four weeks on two or three well-defined tasks, starts with a two-week baseline of how long those tasks take today, and keeps the agent's limits tight so a person sees every exception. At the end you compare time, errors and review effort against the baseline and decide, on that evidence, whether to widen the agent's scope.

Most businesses that are disappointed by AI agents either started too broad or never measured what changed. A short, structured pilot avoids both. It also gives you the evidence to set sensible limits when you move to wider use. The plan below suits a business of one to fifty people and needs no technical team.

Before you start: choose the right tasks

Pick two or three tasks that are frequent, rule-based enough to write down, and easy to measure. Avoid tasks where a single mistake would be costly or hard to reverse.

Good pilot tasksPoor pilot tasks
Chasing overdue invoices at set intervalsNegotiating prices with key clients
Matching supplier bills to purchase ordersReleasing large supplier payments
Answering common customer questions from policyHandling complaints and disputes
Keeping a calendar of filing deadlinesFiling returns without review
Drafting follow-ups after sales callsChanging contract terms

Then measure the baseline. For two weeks before the pilot, record how many of each task you handle, how long they take and how many errors or delays occur. Without this, you will be comparing the agent with a memory.

Name one person as the pilot owner. In a small business this is often the founder; in a larger one, the manager whose team does the work. Their job is to review the agent's output each day in the early weeks, keep the correction log and make the call at the end. A pilot without an owner tends to drift into informal use, and then nobody can say whether it worked.

The four weeks

Week 1: set up and shadow

  • Write down the policy for each task: what the rule is, what counts as an exception, who decides.
  • Set ceilings low. For example, no refunds above £25 or ₦20,000 without a person, and no payments at all in week one.
  • Let the agent prepare work without sending or posting anything. Compare its drafts with what your team actually did.

Week 2: act within tight limits

  • Allow the agent to act on routine items below the ceiling.
  • Review every item it handles, not just the exceptions.
  • Log each correction: what was wrong, and why.

Week 3: review by sample

  • If week two went well, move to checking a sample, for example one in five routine items, plus every exception.
  • Look for patterns in errors. Most can be fixed by clarifying a policy or a record, not by changing the agent.

Week 4: measure

  • Repeat the baseline measures: volume, time, errors and delays.
  • Add up your own review and correction time.
  • Ask the people affected, including staff and a few customers, what they noticed.

Deciding at the end

Compare the pilot against the baseline on four measures.

Time
Hours saved, minus hours spent reviewing and correcting.
Quality
Errors and complaints, compared with before.
Speed
How long customers, suppliers or staff waited.
Control
Whether every item above the ceiling reached a person, and whether the record let you trace each action to its source.

If all four improved, widen the scope a step at a time, raising a ceiling or adding a task, not both at once. If time improved but quality fell, fix the policies and records before going further. If the agent needed so much review that little time was saved, the task may not suit an agent yet. Our article on whether agents pay for themselves shows how to turn these results into a cost comparison.

Common pilot mistakes

  1. Starting with the hardest problem in the business rather than a clear, frequent task.
  2. Raising limits early because the first days went well.
  3. Not telling staff what is happening, which Acas advises against. Consult people whose work is affected.
  4. Forgetting data protection. Check what personal data the agent will see and on what basis, using guidance such as the ICO's on AI.
  5. Judging on impressions rather than the baseline.

The NIST AI Risk Management Framework describes the same rhythm in more formal terms: map the context, measure performance, manage the risks you find, and repeat. A pilot is that loop on a small scale.

Keep the pilot record once it ends. The correction log, the limits you set and the results against baseline become the reference point for every later change. When you raise a ceiling or hand over a new task, you can point to the evidence that justified it, which is useful to you and to anyone who later asks how the business decided to trust its agents.

Where Pryme fits

A Pryme Business account comes with five agents, so a pilot can start with one function, such as the Finance agent on bills and the close, or the Sales agent on follow-ups, and add others later. Each agent works inside a mandate with a ceiling you set, and every action is recorded with its source, which gives you the pilot record. Read using AI to shorten the month-end close for a finance example.

Questions people ask

How long should an AI agent pilot last?

Four weeks is usually enough for frequent tasks, after a two-week baseline. Monthly tasks such as the close may need two cycles.

How many tasks should a pilot cover?

Two or three. Enough to learn how the agent behaves, few enough to review properly.

Should staff be involved in a pilot?

Yes. They know where the exceptions are, and consulting them early is recommended by Acas.

What if the pilot fails?

Look at why. Often the cause is unclear policies or missing records, which you can fix and test again. Sometimes the task does not suit an agent yet.
