Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals and follows up. Nothing leaves your account without your approval.
Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.
One global account for your money and business. Move across currencies, automate everyday operations and put AI agents to work — with you in control of every important decision.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

No card, no OTP, nothing for the buyer to type in. They transfer from the bank app they already use, and the money lands in the same account your agents are running — already matched to the order, already in your books.

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Part of the guideAI agents for business finance: what they can and can't do
AI shortens the month-end close mainly by doing reconciliation and evidence-gathering continuously during the month, so less is left for the last few days. Agents can prepare accruals and prepayment schedules, chase missing receipts, draft variance commentary and assemble the close checklist with evidence attached. A finance lead still reviews judgement items, approves journals above a limit and signs off the numbers.
A slow close usually has little to do with the final journals. It is the backlog: unmatched bank lines, missing receipts and unanswered questions that pile up all month and land on the first working days of the next. AI attacks that backlog. This article looks at the close specifically; our guide to AI agents for business finance covers the wider set of tasks agents can take on.
Benchmarks are rough because companies define "closed" differently, but they give a useful starting point. APQC's benchmarking of around 2,300 organisations put the median monthly close at about six calendar days, with top performers under five and the slowest quarter at ten or more. A smaller 2022 study by Ventana Research found 59% of companies closed within six business days. These figures are skewed towards larger companies with dedicated teams; small businesses relying on an external bookkeeper often take two weeks or more.
If your close takes longer than the month's management decisions can wait, it is too slow, whatever the benchmark says.
| Task | What the agent does | What a person does |
|---|---|---|
| Bank reconciliation | Matches daily through the month; leaves a short exceptions list | Resolves exceptions; samples automatic matches |
| Missing receipts | Chases card holders during the month, not at month-end | Decides what to do about anything still missing |
| Accruals | Proposes accruals from purchase orders, contracts and last month's pattern | Approves amounts and any new accruals |
| Prepayments and deferred income | Builds and rolls forward release schedules | Checks new contracts are set up correctly |
| Intercompany and multi-currency balances | Matches both sides and flags mismatches; applies month-end rates | Agrees adjustments and the rate source |
| Variance commentary | Drafts explanations against budget and last month, citing the lines behind each variance | Edits for judgement and context |
| Close checklist | Tracks every task, owner and status; attaches evidence | Signs off the close |
The biggest gain is in the first row. If reconciliation runs every day, as explained in our article on AI bank reconciliation, the close starts with clean cash rather than a month of unmatched lines.
Take a 40-person services business closing in nine working days with one finance manager and a part-time bookkeeper. The timings below are illustrative, to show where AI saves time.
| Stage | Before | With an AI agent |
|---|---|---|
| Bank reconciliation for three accounts | Days 1 to 3 | Done daily; 30 exceptions cleared on day 1 |
| Chasing receipts and supplier invoices | Days 2 to 5 | Chased during the month; 6 still missing on day 1 |
| Accruals and prepayments | Days 5 to 6 | Agent drafts on day 1; reviewed on day 2 |
| Payroll and tax journals | Day 6 | Day 2 |
| Management accounts and commentary | Days 7 to 8 | Agent drafts on day 3; edited on day 3 |
| Review and sign-off | Day 9 | Day 4 |
The work did not disappear. Roughly the same number of checks took place, but most of them moved into the month, where they are cheaper and the facts are fresher. The finance manager spent the saved days on cash forecasting and supplier negotiations instead of matching.
Do not switch everything on at once. A phased approach lets you compare the agent's work with your own before relying on it.
This mirrors how regulated firms use AI. In the Bank of England and FCA's 2024 survey, only 2% of automated decision-making use cases were fully autonomous; most kept a person reviewing critical or unclear decisions.
These controls mirror the mandate, ceiling and approval model described in the parent guide on governing finance agents, applied to one recurring process.
A clean monthly close makes the year-end far easier. In the UK, a private company has nine months from the end of its financial year to file accounts at Companies House, and late filing brings automatic penalties starting at £150. A business whose twelve monthly closes are already reconciled and evidenced hands its accountant a year that needs adjusting, not rebuilding. It also feeds better forecasting, which we compare in AI CFO vs fractional CFO.
Pryme's Finance agent prepares work inside a mandate with a ceiling; above the ceiling a person decides, and an audit trail records agent actions. Business accounts hold NGN, USD, GBP and EUR, and money stays in the currency it arrived in, which can mean fewer conversion lines to reconcile. Your accounting system remains the book of record, and your accountant still signs off.
Outside Nigeria, Pryme's activities are carried out through regulated partners.
Benchmarks for larger companies put the median at about six calendar days, with leading teams closing in under five. Small businesses often take longer. The right target is the point at which the numbers arrive in time to change decisions.
No. It can prepare most of the work, including reconciliations, accruals, schedules and commentary, but a person should review judgement items, approve journals above a limit and sign off.
Doing reconciliation and other close tasks throughout the month rather than all at the end. AI makes it practical because an agent can match and chase every day without extra staff time.
Auditors look at evidence and controls, not who typed the entry. Journals linked to source documents, with a clear approval record and an exportable trail of what the agent did, are easier to audit than manual entries without support.
