You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How Uyo households get water: Akwa Ibom Water Company billing, borehole running costs by power band, vendor prices and how to compare them.
Most Uyo households use a mix of Akwa Ibom Water Company supply, boreholes and vendors. We could not confirm a current AKWC tariff as at October 2026; the last specific public figure we found is a flat ₦2,100 per flat per month, stated in 2015. For a borehole, pumping is the main running cost: in our labelled example, one hour a day of a 1 kW pump costs ₦6,285 a month on PHED Band A and ₦2,068.80 on Band B.
Few homes in Uyo rely only on the public mains. Most households get water from a mix of sources: the Akwa Ibom Water Company where its pipes reach, private or shared boreholes, and vendors who sell by the jerrycan or tanker load. Each has its own cost. This guide sets out what the water company has said about its charges, the costs of running a borehole, and how to compare them with labelled examples.
The Akwa Ibom Water Company Limited supplies piped water in Uyo and other towns. The most specific public statement of its charges we found is from February 2015, when its then managing director, Ernest Usoro, said customers paid a flat rate of ₦2,100 per flat per month, about ₦70 a day, which he considered too low (Blueprint, February 2015). He noted that some families were spending over ₦500 a day on water from commercial boreholes, and said the company planned to install meters first in organised estates, naming Ewet Housing, Usongama Estate and Shelter Afrique, with 16,000 meters provisioned.
That 2015 figure is history, not today's tariff. We could not confirm a current Akwa Ibom Water Company tariff as at October 2026. If you are connected, your bill or the company's local office will show the current charge; ask whether you are billed at a flat rate or by meter.
A private borehole has three kinds of cost: drilling and fitting once, power to pump every day, and maintenance. The 2015 interview also said commercial borehole operators paid ₦1,600 per sample for water testing at the time, a reminder that water quality should be checked, especially for shallow boreholes near soakaways.
Pumping costs depend on your electricity band. NERC's May 2026 order for PHED, which supplies Uyo, sets Non-MD tariffs of ₦209.50 per kWh on Band A and ₦68.96 on Band B. A labelled example for a 1 kW pump running one hour a day:
| Item (example) | Band A | Band B |
|---|---|---|
| Energy used per month | 30 kWh | 30 kWh |
| Tariff per kWh (NERC, May 2026) | ₦209.50 | ₦68.96 |
| Monthly pumping cost | ₦6,285 | ₦2,068.80 |
On generator power, the same pumping can cost much more once fuel is counted. Add maintenance, such as pump repairs and tank cleaning, and spread the drilling cost over the years you expect to use the borehole. In a compound, sharing a borehole among several flats cuts the cost per household; agree in writing how running costs are split.
Households without a borehole often buy from vendors in jerrycans, or order a tanker to fill an overhead tank. Prices rise in the dry season and when fuel is dear. A labelled example: a family buying 10 jerrycans of 25 litres a day at an example ₦100 each spends ₦1,000 a day, about ₦30,000 a month, for 250 litres a day. Compared with the borehole example above, that shows why many landlords invest in a shared borehole.
Whatever the source, how you store water affects both health and cost. Overhead and ground tanks should have tight lids and be cleaned regularly; jerrycans used for drinking water should be kept only for that purpose. Boil, filter or treat water from a source you have not had tested before drinking it. Leaking taps, running toilets and overflowing tanks waste water you have paid to pump or buy: a float valve on the tank and a timer on the pump can cut the waste. In a shared compound, agree who switches the pump on and off, so the tank is not left overflowing while the pump runs on a costly band or generator.
| Source | Main costs | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Public mains (AKWC) | Monthly bill, flat or metered | Irregular supply; confirm the current tariff |
| Own or shared borehole | Drilling once, power, maintenance | Water quality; pump failures; power cost by band |
| Vendors and tankers | Price per jerrycan or load | Rising prices in the dry season; clean containers |
Our guide to PHED tariff bands in Uyo explains how to find your band, and checking your electricity band covers how to challenge it. Before renting, ask the landlord which of these sources the building uses, who pays for the borehole's power, and how often the tank is cleaned.
Pay your electricity token from the electricity page in the Pryme app, and keep a Savings Box for pump repairs and tank cleaning so a breakdown does not become an emergency.
We could not confirm a current Akwa Ibom Water Company tariff as at October 2026. In 2015 the company's managing director said customers paid a flat ₦2,100 per flat per month; check your bill or the local office for today's charge.
It depends mainly on power. In our labelled example, a 1 kW pump running an hour a day uses 30 kWh a month, costing ₦6,285 on PHED Band A or ₦2,068.80 on Band B at NERC's May 2026 tariffs.
Usually not for a whole household over time. In our labelled example, buying 10 jerrycans a day costs about ₦30,000 a month.
Yes. The water company said in 2015 that it tested commercial borehole water, and testing is the only way to know the water is safe.
