Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Time off for dependants, compassionate and unpaid leave, and the 4-week rule sponsored visa holders must watch during a family emergency in Nigeria.
UK employees can take reasonable time off for an emergency involving a dependant, but it does not have to be paid; longer absences are usually annual leave, compassionate leave under your contract, or unpaid leave by agreement. If you are on a sponsored work visa, Home Office guidance says your sponsor must normally stop sponsoring you if unpaid or reduced-pay absence exceeds 4 weeks in a calendar year, and compassionate leave is not one of the listed exceptions.
A parent in hospital in Lagos or a funeral in Enugu can mean weeks away from work. For most employees the question is how to combine the different kinds of leave. For anyone on a sponsored work visa, such as Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker, there is a second question that matters more: how long you can be away without pay before it affects your visa.
| Type | Paid? | What GOV.UK or your contract says |
|---|---|---|
| Time off for dependants | Not necessarily | Reasonable time to deal with an emergency involving a dependant (spouse, partner, child, grandchild, parent or someone who depends on you for care); no fixed limit; not for situations known in advance |
| Annual leave | Yes | Almost all workers get 5.6 weeks' paid holiday a year; for a 5-day week at least 28 days, capped at 28 |
| Compassionate leave | Depends on contract | GOV.UK says that if time off for dependants is refused, an employer may offer paid or unpaid compassionate leave; check your contract or handbook |
| Unpaid leave | No | By agreement with your employer |
GOV.UK's time-off page gives one example (a child falling ill) and does not deal specifically with emergencies abroad or bereavement, so the length of time that counts as reasonable for a trip to Nigeria is a matter to agree with your employer. Tell them as soon as you can how long you expect to need.
Home Office guidance for sponsors (part 2, version 08/26, published 3 August 2026) says a sponsor must normally stop sponsoring a worker who is absent without pay, or on reduced pay, for more than 4 weeks in total in a calendar year (1 January to 31 December). The 4 weeks are counted against your normal working pattern: for a 5-day week, that is 20 working days.
The guidance lists reasons where unpaid or reduced-pay absence does not require the sponsor to stop sponsoring you:
Compassionate leave and caring for a sick relative are not on that list. Where a sponsor believes there are compelling reasons to keep sponsoring a worker beyond 4 weeks, the guidance says it must report the absence and its reasons through its sponsor management system, and UKVI may cancel the worker's permission if it is not satisfied.
The practical lesson: always have your absence agreed in writing before you fly, and do not extend a trip without telling your employer. An unagreed absence turns a family emergency into a compliance report.
Chika works five days a week on a Skilled Worker visa. Her father is admitted to hospital in Nigeria in March. She has 15 days of annual leave left and has already taken 3 days of unpaid leave in January.
| Leave | Working days |
|---|---|
| Time off for dependants (unpaid, agreed) | 2 |
| Annual leave (paid) | 15 |
| Unpaid leave (agreed) | 10 |
| Total time away | 27 |
Her unpaid days this calendar year are 3 + 2 + 10 = 15, under the 20-working-day limit for her pattern. She has 5 unpaid days left before the 4-week threshold for the rest of the year, which she and her employer should keep in mind if her father's condition changes.
If you work in health and care and claim an Immigration Health Surcharge reimbursement, GOV.UK says each claim period requires that you were not unemployed or on unpaid leave for more than 28 days. A long unpaid absence can therefore affect that claim too.
This is information, not legal or immigration advice. If your employment or visa position is complicated, speak to Acas or a regulated immigration adviser. For travel documents, see emergency flights to Nigeria.
Unpaid weeks put pressure on both ends: UK bills and costs in Nigeria. A Pryme account holds pounds and naira together, so you can convert when you choose and pay hospital or family costs in naira while away. Two-step sign-in with an authenticator app is part of account security when you are using a new phone or SIM abroad.
Yes, if your employer agrees. GOV.UK gives a right to reasonable time off for a dependant emergency, which does not have to be paid; longer trips usually combine annual, compassionate or unpaid leave.
Home Office sponsor guidance says sponsorship must normally stop if unpaid or reduced-pay absence exceeds 4 weeks in a calendar year, unless a listed exception applies. Compassionate leave is not listed.
Sponsors must report unpaid absence over 4 weeks not covered by an exception, and absence without permission over 10 consecutive working days.
It depends on your contract or company policy. GOV.UK says employers may offer paid or unpaid compassionate leave.
