Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

BruceCareYour competitor down the road sells the same thing you sell. The difference is who walks in. We put money in people’s hands that can only be spent in businesses like yours — and then we point them at you.
You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

No card, no OTP, nothing for the buyer to type in. They transfer from the bank app they already use, and the money lands in the same account your agents are running — already matched to the order, already in your books.
We give the buyer a one-time account number. They transfer to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Since April 2025 the remittance basis is gone. Who qualifies for the 4-year foreign income and gains regime, how to claim, and what it costs you.
From 6 April 2025 the UK replaced the remittance basis with the foreign income and gains (FIG) regime. If you become UK resident after at least 10 consecutive tax years of not being UK resident, you can claim relief from UK tax on foreign income and gains, such as Nigerian rent, interest and dividends, for up to your first four years of residence. Each claim is made on your Self Assessment return and costs you your personal allowance and capital gains annual exempt amount for that year.
Until April 2025, people who were not UK domiciled could use the remittance basis and pay UK tax on foreign income only when they brought it into the UK. HMRC's SA109 notes for 2025 to 2026 say that from 6 April 2025 it is no longer possible to use the remittance basis. In its place is a residence-based regime that does not depend on domicile at all. For Nigerians arriving now, this is the rule that matters. This is information, not tax advice.
LITRG's guidance on the regime, updated 6 April 2026, sets out the conditions:
Two points catch Nigerians out. First, a split year counts as a year of UK residence, so your arrival year uses one of the four even if you arrived in February. Second, earlier time in the UK counts against you. Someone who studied in the UK for a degree and was UK resident during those years, then went home and returned within 10 years, will not have the 10-year gap. If you leave during the four years and come back, the years away are not added back on.
LITRG also says people who became UK resident before 6 April 2025 can claim for 2025/26 onwards if they meet the conditions, but only for what is left of their four-year window. Relief does not apply to foreign income or gains that arose before 6 April 2025.
| Type of claim | Typical Nigerian examples | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Foreign income claim | Rent from a Lagos flat, interest on a Nigerian bank deposit, NGX dividends | Amounts identified on your return are deducted when UK tax is worked out |
| Foreign employment claim with election | Pay for work done outside the UK in the period covered | Given through overseas workday relief, which has its own rules |
| Foreign gains claim | Gain on selling Nigerian land or shares | Gains are reported on the capital gains pages |
UK income stays fully taxable whatever you claim. If you work for a UK employer, your salary is taxed as normal.
Making any one of the three claims for a year means, according to LITRG, losing for that year:
So the regime helps most when foreign income or gains are large compared with UK income. A nurse with a UK salary and a modest Lagos rent may find that losing the personal allowance costs more UK tax than the claim saves. A new arrival who has just sold land in Abuja at a large gain may find the opposite. Work out the tax both ways for each year; you can choose year by year.
Example only, with assumed figures. Suppose claiming would remove £1,500 of UK tax on your Nigerian rent, but losing your personal allowance would add £2,500 of tax on your UK salary. The claim leaves you £1,000 worse off, so you would not make it that year. If the following year you also sold Nigerian shares and claiming would remove a further £4,000 of UK tax on the gain, the claim would save £3,000 overall.
You still have to report the income. LITRG notes that the old exemption for foreign income under £2,000 under the remittance basis does not apply here. The SA106 notes add that foreign tax credit relief cannot be claimed on income you also claim FIG relief on, so Nigerian withholding tax on that income is not credited. See foreign tax credit relief.
LITRG says the temporary repatriation facility, which allows a special low rate on designated amounts previously relieved under the remittance basis and brought into the UK, runs until 2027/28. It matters mainly to people who used the remittance basis before April 2025.
No. HMRC's SA109 notes say that from 6 April 2025 it is no longer possible to use the remittance basis. The FIG regime replaced it.
Only if you were not UK resident in at least 10 consecutive tax years before your current period of residence. Years of UK residence as a student count.
It can be relieved if you qualify and claim, but the claim costs your personal allowance and CGT annual exempt amount for that year, so it is not always worth it.
On your Self Assessment return: SA109 boxes 28 and 29, with the amounts on the SA106 pages, by 31 January in the second tax year after the year of claim.

Does UK inheritance tax reach a house in Lagos? From 6 April 2025 it turns on whether you lived in the UK for 10 of the last 20 years.
Since April 2025, UK inheritance tax depends on residence, not domicile. After 10 of 20 tax years here, your Nigerian land and accounts come into scope.
