Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.

2018OjirehPrime Card

2020Microfinance bank

PrymeSolid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to track and collect your driver's licence

Track your FRSC driver's licence with your Application ID or licence number and date of birth, then collect it where you were captured.

The short answer

You track a Nigerian driver's licence on the FRSC driver's licence portal using the "Track DL Application Status" option and either your Application ID or your licence number, plus your date of birth. FRSC does not publish a fixed production time, so check the status regularly and collect the card at the licence centre where you did your capture, taking your temporary slip and ID.

How the licence process runs

Every licence application, whether new, renewal or reissue, follows the same broad route on FRSC's portal: you fill in the form, pay, attend a driver's licence centre (DLC) for biometric capture, and wait for the card. The FAQ on the portal says you can edit an application until payment is made, that unpaid applications are purged after three months, and that you must appear in person for capture.

  1. Start or renew the application on the FRSC driver's licence portal. Fresh applicants need the certificate number from an accredited driving school.
  2. Pay through one of the listed channels: cash at a bank via Innovate1pay or PayArena, card online, card at a POS at your chosen DLC (bring your transaction number), or NetPostPay.
  3. Attend capture at the DLC you chose. Take your payment evidence and ID.
  4. Receive a temporary licence to drive with while the card is produced.
  5. Track the status online until the card is ready, then collect it.

Tracking your status online

The portal menu has a "Track DL Application Status" option. The FAQ says you need one of two identifiers plus your date of birth:

You haveUse it whenAlso needed
Application IDA new application or any application not yet linked to a cardDate of birth
Driver's licence (DL) numberRenewal or reissue of an existing licenceDate of birth

Write your Application ID down the moment you get it and keep a photo of your payment receipt. Most delays people describe come from losing one of the two. The same details let you edit an application before payment.

What the status means in practice

The FAQ does not list each status label, so read it plainly: if it says the card has been produced or is ready, go and collect; if it still shows capture or processing, wait and check again in a week. If nothing has moved for a long time, contact support rather than paying an agent.

Where and how to collect

FRSC's FAQ talks about "your chosen DLC" for payment and capture. The centre where you were captured is the place to ask for your card. The portal lets you look up capture centres by state and local government area, so confirm the address before you travel. Take with you:

  • Your temporary licence slip.
  • A photo ID, such as your NIN slip or passport.
  • Your Application ID or licence number and your payment receipt.
  • For commercial licences, the documents you used at capture: the FAQ says commercial applications start at the centre with a medical certificate and a driving school certificate.

How long it takes, and what to do if it is late

FRSC does not publish a production timeline on the FAQ page we read in October 2026, and turnaround varies by centre. Plan around your temporary slip, not around a promised date. Our guide to temporary licence validity covers what to do if the slip runs out first.

  1. Check the status online each week.
  2. If the status shows ready, collect promptly.
  3. If the status has not changed after several weeks, call FRSC: the FAQ lists 122 (toll-free), 0700-2255-3772 and 0807-7690-362.
  4. Visit the DLC with your documents and ask for the reason in writing.
  5. If your details are wrong on the card, ask how to correct them; FRSC allows changes with supporting documents. See updating name or address.

Worked example: choosing 3 or 5 years at renewal

Fees from the FRSC FAQ, as at October 2026; channel charges may be added. For classes other than A, a 3-year licence is ₦15,000 and a 5-year licence is ₦21,000. That works out to ₦5,000 a year for 3 years against ₦4,200 a year for 5 years. Choosing 5 years also means one fewer trip through tracking and collection. Each class is charged separately, so two classes cost twice. Full fees are in FRSC driver's licence fees and steps.

Common mistakes that slow collection

  • Choosing a capture centre far from home or work. You will usually return to the same centre to collect, so pick one you can reach easily.
  • Leaving an application unpaid. The FAQ says unpaid applications are purged after three months, and you would have to start again.
  • Typing the date of birth differently from your ID. The status check needs it to match the record.
  • Paying an agent to "push" the card. FRSC lists its own payment channels; nothing in the FAQ describes a paid express service.
  • Applying for more classes than you need. First-time applicants can apply for at most two classes, A and B, and each class is charged separately.

A licence is also an identity document. The CBN's 2013 tiered KYC circular lists FRSC among the databases banks use to verify ID for Tier 2 accounts, so a card with the right details is worth collecting promptly even if your slip is still in date.

Where Pryme fits

Pay the FRSC fee by card online from your Pryme account and keep the receipt. If someone asks for proof of payment later, a verifiable receipt from VerifyDoc.ai lets them check it is genuine and unaltered.

Questions people ask

How do I check if my driver's licence is ready?

Use "Track DL Application Status" on the FRSC driver's licence portal with your Application ID or licence number and your date of birth.

Where do I collect my driver's licence?

At the driver's licence centre where you did your capture. The portal lets you look up centres by state and LGA. Take your temporary slip and ID.

How long does FRSC take to produce a licence?

FRSC does not publish a fixed time on its FAQ page. Track the status weekly and keep your temporary slip in date.

I lost my Application ID. Can I still track?

If you have a licence number, use it with your date of birth. Otherwise contact FRSC support on 122 or 0700-2255-3772, or ask at the centre where you were captured.
