Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.
One global account for your money and business. Move across currencies, automate everyday operations and put AI agents to work — with you in control of every important decision.

BruceCareYour competitor down the road sells the same thing you sell. The difference is who walks in. We put money in people’s hands that can only be spent in businesses like yours — and then we point them at you.
You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

We give the buyer a one-time account number. They transfer to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Yes: naira and domiciliary accounts are specified foreign property. How the C$100,000 cost test works, what else counts and what is left out.
Yes. Money held in Nigerian bank accounts, naira or domiciliary, is specified foreign property for Form T1135. You must file if the total cost of all your specified foreign property was more than C$100,000 at any time in the year, measured in Canadian dollars. Personal-use property, assets in an RRSP or TFSA and property used only in an active business are left out, and you do not file for the year you first became resident.
Form T1135, the Foreign Income Verification Statement, is an information return. It does not create tax; it tells the CRA what foreign property you hold so that it can check the income on your return. Only Canadian residents file it. It is due on or before the due date of your income tax return, which for most people was 30 April 2026 for the 2025 year, and it is due even in a year when you do not have to file a return.
The CRA’s T1135 questions and answers treat funds held in a bank account outside Canada as specified foreign property; its worked example uses a US bank deposit, and the same logic applies to a Nigerian account. The currency does not decide the answer: a naira savings account, a US dollar domiciliary account and a fixed deposit with a Nigerian bank all count. So do accounts held jointly, for your share.
| Nigerian asset | Counts for T1135? |
|---|---|
| Naira current or savings account | Yes |
| Domiciliary account in USD, GBP or EUR at a Nigerian bank | Yes |
| Fixed deposit or treasury bills held in Nigeria | Yes |
| Shares in Nigerian companies, including through a broker | Yes |
| Vacant land or a rented-out flat in Nigeria | Yes (land producing no income still counts) |
| A house in Nigeria used more than half the time by you personally | No, personal-use property |
| Property used only in your active business | No |
| Foreign shares inside an RRSP or TFSA | No |
Two details trip people up. First, the test uses cost amount, generally your adjusted cost base, not market value. Second, it applies at any time in the year: if you crossed C$100,000 for one week and then spent the money, you still file for that year. For money in a bank account, the practical figure is the Canadian-dollar amount of the balance. The CRA converts foreign amounts at the Bank of Canada rate for the relevant day, under its reporting-currency folio.
Example only. Tunde, resident in Toronto since 2023, holds a naira account worth C$18,000, a dollar domiciliary account worth C$27,000 and a plot in Ibeju-Lekki that cost him C$60,000. Total cost: C$105,000. He must file T1135 for the year, even though no single asset is over C$100,000. If he sells the land in June, he still files for that year, because he was over the threshold earlier in it.
For Part B, bank accounts go under funds held outside Canada. Our guide to simplified versus detailed reporting for Nigerian assets takes you through each line.
You do not file T1135 for the tax year in which you first became resident. For later years, the cost of property you already held is its fair market value on the date you became resident. So the naira savings you brought from Lagos are measured at their Canadian-dollar value on your residence date, not what you put in years earlier.
Because the test is the highest total at any point, a single large inflow can push you over. Common triggers for Nigerians in Canada are the proceeds of a land sale sitting in a Lagos account for a few weeks, a family contribution parked in your domiciliary account before it is spent on a building project, or an inheritance; the T1135 questions and answers say a gift or inheritance is recorded at its fair market value when you received it. A quick monthly note of each account’s balance in Canadian dollars is enough to show whether you crossed the line.
The penalties for missing T1135 do not depend on whether you owed tax. Late filing costs C$25 a day for up to 100 days, a minimum of C$100 and a maximum of C$2,500, and harsher penalties apply for knowing or grossly negligent failure. The CRA also gets three extra years to reassess income from the property if T1135 was not filed, late or wrong. If you have missed years, read T1135 late filing penalties and voluntary disclosure.
Filing T1135 is separate from reporting the income. Interest on a Nigerian account is reported on line 12100 every year, in Canadian dollars, whatever the balance. See also whether Nigerian banks report to the CRA.
Working out the highest balance in the year is easier when your statements are clean. A Pryme multicurrency account keeps each currency separate, and verifiable statements generated with VerifyDoc.ai give you a record to keep with your tax file. Naira held in Pryme is a Nigerian account, so it counts towards T1135 like any other.
You report the interest every year. You also file T1135 if the total cost of all your foreign property, including Nigerian accounts, was over C$100,000 at any time in the year.
No. It is based on cost amount, generally adjusted cost base. For bank balances, use the Canadian-dollar amount of the money held.
Not if you use it mainly for personal purposes. A property rented out for profit, or land producing no income, does count.
Not for the year you first became resident. From next year, the cost of what you held is its value on your residence date.

The T1135 has two methods. The cost of your Nigerian accounts, shares and property across the year decides which one you must use.
