You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to size a solar and battery system for your parents' house, what a real 5kVA setup cost in 2026, and how to pay an installer in stages from the UK.
Size the system from your parents' actual daily use in watt-hours, not from the inverter label, and get an itemised quote. One buyer reported in April 2026 that a 5kVA inverter, a 5kW lithium battery and eight 590W panels cost about ₦3.75 million. Pay the installer in stages tied to delivery, installation and a working handover, never the full sum up front.
Paying for solar is one of the most common big purchases Nigerians in the UK make for parents at home. It cuts generator fuel, keeps a fridge and fan running through outages and spares an older parent the noise and fumes. It is also a purchase where you cannot see the goods, the installer is several thousand miles away and the sums are large. This guide covers the two things that decide whether it goes well: sizing the system properly and paying for it in a way that protects you.
Installers often sell by inverter size: 3.5kVA, 5kVA, 10kVA. The inverter is only one part. What matters is how much energy the house needs each day (watt-hours), how much of that must run at night from the battery, and how many panels it takes to refill the battery on a normal day. Ask someone at home to list every appliance your parents want on solar, its wattage (on the label) and how many hours a day it runs.
| Appliance | Watts | Hours a day | Watt-hours a day |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 LED bulbs | 60 (10 each) | 6 | 360 |
| 2 standing fans | 120 (60 each) | 8 | 960 |
| Television and decoder | 100 | 5 | 500 |
| Fridge (compressor running time) | 150 | 8 | 1,200 |
| Phones and a laptop | 100 | 1 | 100 |
| Total | 3,120 |
In this example the house needs about 3,120 watt-hours a day. If roughly half of that is used after dark, the battery must deliver around 1,500 to 1,600 watt-hours each night with room to spare, and the panels must produce more than 3,120 watt-hours on an average day to cover use and charging losses. A competent installer will do this sum with local sun hours and the battery's usable capacity. If a quote does not show it, ask for it.
Leave air conditioners, pressing irons, electric kettles and water heaters off the list unless you are prepared to pay for a much larger system. These loads are what usually turn a modest budget into an oversized one.
There is no official price list for solar equipment in Nigeria, and prices move with the naira and with import costs. As one reference point, Legit.ng reported on 22 April 2026 that a buyer paid about ₦3.75 million for a 5kVA inverter, a 5kW lithium battery and eight 590W panels, with no itemised breakdown. Treat that as one reported purchase, not a market rate. Your own quote should list each item separately:
Ask for two or three quotes on the same load list so you are comparing like with like. A much cheaper quote often means a smaller battery or fewer panels than the load needs.
The safest structure ties each payment to something a trusted person at home can see. Agree it in writing (a WhatsApp message is better than nothing; a signed quote is better still) before any money moves.
| Stage | What has happened | Share | On a ₦3,750,000 quote |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Order confirmed, itemised quote signed | 40% | ₦1,500,000 |
| 2 | Equipment delivered to the house and checked against the quote | 40% | ₦1,500,000 |
| 3 | Installed, switched on, running for a few days, warranty papers handed over | 20% | ₦750,000 |
| Total | 100% | ₦3,750,000 |
Some installers will ask for more up front because they buy stock for you. That can be reasonable for a business you can verify, but keep the final payment until the system is working. Pay the business account in the company's name, not a personal account, and ask for a receipt at every stage.
If you are saving towards the purchase over several months, holding the money in naira avoids a fresh conversion each time the installer asks for a stage payment. There is a separate guide on saving for an inverter or solar setup, and if siblings are sharing the cost, see pooling money for a family project.
A Pryme account holds pounds and naira side by side. You can convert pounds to naira when you choose, with the rate and the fee shown before you approve, then pay each stage to the installer's naira account. Naira you are setting aside can wait in a Savings Box, held by a licensed Nigerian microfinance bank, and a verifiable receipt for each stage gives you and your siblings a clear record.
There is no official price. Legit.ng reported in April 2026 that one buyer paid about ₦3.75 million for a 5kVA inverter, a 5kW lithium battery and eight 590W panels. Get itemised quotes for your parents' actual load.
Add up the watts of everything that may run at the same time and the watt-hours used each day. The inverter must handle the peak load; the battery and panels must cover the daily energy. Ask the installer to show the calculation.
It is safer to pay in stages: part on order, part on delivery checked by someone at home, and the balance once the system has run for a few days and warranty papers are handed over.
Possibly, but air conditioners draw far more power than fans and lights, so the system becomes much larger and more expensive. Decide early whether it is on the list.
