You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Example yearly rents for a room, mini-flat and two-bedroom flat in Bodija, Jericho, Akobo and Apata, plus the agent, agreement and caution fees.
Yearly rent in Ibadan depends heavily on area: Jericho and Bodija sit at the upper end, Akobo in the middle, and Apata and similar areas lower, with new buildings costing more everywhere. There is no official rent survey, so the ranges here are labelled examples; on top of rent, tenants usually pay agency, agreement and caution fees, which Oyo State does not cap as at October 2026.
Ibadan is still cheaper than Lagos or Abuja for housing, but rents have risen sharply since 2024, and the gap between areas is wide. A self-contained room in Apata and a two-bedroom flat in Jericho are different markets. This guide gives labelled example ranges for four well-known areas, explains what drives the price, and sets out the fees you pay on top.
Illustrative example ranges only, for yearly rent as at October 2026, for an average property in decent condition. They are not survey data. New buildings, estates with security and good roads, and properties with prepaid meters and boreholes cost more.
| Area (example) | Self-contained room | Mini-flat (1 bed) | 2-bedroom flat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jericho | ₦300,000 to ₦500,000 | ₦600,000 to ₦1,000,000 | ₦1,200,000 to ₦2,500,000 |
| Bodija | ₦250,000 to ₦450,000 | ₦500,000 to ₦900,000 | ₦1,000,000 to ₦2,000,000 |
| Akobo | ₦200,000 to ₦350,000 | ₦400,000 to ₦700,000 | ₦700,000 to ₦1,500,000 |
| Apata | ₦150,000 to ₦300,000 | ₦300,000 to ₦550,000 | ₦550,000 to ₦1,000,000 |
Most Ibadan lettings come with extra charges paid at signing. Agents commonly ask for around 10% of a year's rent as commission and a similar amount for the agreement, plus a refundable caution deposit; some also ask for an inspection fee. These are negotiable. For a full breakdown, read agent fees and rent agreements in Ibadan.
Peoples Gazette, reporting a News Agency of Nigeria story on 22 January 2026, said the Oyo State commissioner for lands, Williams Akin-Funmilayo, told the estate agents' association that the government cannot fix rents but agents' practices can be regulated by law, and that the ministry would not dictate agents' percentages. We found no enacted cap on agents' fees as at October 2026.
Example only. Rent ₦550,000 a year; agent asks 10% commission and 10% agreement fee; caution ₦50,000.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Rent (1 year) | ₦550,000 |
| Agency fee (10%) | ₦55,000 |
| Agreement fee (10%) | ₦55,000 |
| Caution deposit | ₦50,000 |
| Total due at signing | ₦710,000 |
The fees add ₦160,000, or about 29% on top of the rent (₦160,000 ÷ ₦550,000). Saving for this over a year means putting aside about ₦59,200 a month (₦710,000 ÷ 12 = ₦59,167). Compared with the ₦80,000 minimum wage the Oyo State Government announced for its workers in November 2024, that is most of a minimum-wage earner's pay, which is why many tenants share or choose a room instead. See how much rent you can afford.
Rent in Ibadan is normally paid a year in advance, and renewal is where many disputes start. Ask the landlord, in writing, how much notice they will give of any increase and whether the agent's fee applies again on renewal; in most lettings it should not. Where you live also changes your other costs: a cheaper room far from your work can add more in transport each month than it saves in rent, and areas with poor water supply push up what you spend on tankers and sachets. Watch for fake agents and double letting; read land and property scams in Ibadan.
A year's rent in Ibadan is a large sum to gather. A Fixed Savings Box keeps rent money separate until renewal, and you can share a verifiable statement with a landlord who asks for proof of income. Read how to save for a year's rent.
In our labelled examples, a mini-flat costs from about ₦300,000 a year in areas like Apata to ₦1,000,000 in Jericho. Newer buildings and estates cost more.
Rents are generally lower further from the city centre and the university axis. Among the four areas here, Apata has the lowest example ranges.
Agents commonly ask about 10% of a year's rent, often with a similar agreement fee. Oyo State had not capped these as at October 2026, so negotiate.
Some ask for more than one year. One year in advance is the most common practice; negotiate and get the terms in the agreement.
