Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

We give the buyer a one-time account number. They transfer to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Most landlords want a year upfront. Here is how to work out the full move-in cost, split it into monthly amounts and keep the money safe until it is due.
Work out the full renewal or move-in cost, including agency, legal and caution fees, then divide it by the number of months until the date it is due and move that amount into a separate pot on payday. Keep the rent money somewhere you cannot casually spend from, and start the next year's pot the month after you pay.
Rent in most Nigerian cities is paid yearly in advance, so a household that earns monthly has to find twelve months of housing cost in one go. In Lagos, the Tenancy Law 2011 says a landlord or agent may not demand more than one year's rent from a new or prospective tenant, although the law does not apply in Apapa, Ikeja GRA, Ikoyi and Victoria Island, and some landlords still ask for more. Whatever the rules where you live, the practical problem is the same: a large sum falls due on one date, and it competes with every other demand on your salary in the months before.
The answer is not more willpower. It is a plan that turns one frightening number into twelve ordinary ones, and a place to keep that money where it is not mixed with your spending.
The rent on the agreement is rarely what leaves your account. Before you set a monthly target, list every cost tied to the date.
If you are renewing, ask the landlord or agent at least four months before the date whether the rent is changing. A surprise increase is the most common reason rent savings fall short.
Count the paydays between now and the due date, not the calendar months. If you are paid on the 25th and rent is due on 1 March, a February salary may arrive too late to count.
| Item (example figures) | Amount |
|---|---|
| Annual rent | ₦1,800,000 |
| Service charge | ₦200,000 |
| Buffer for increase (5%) | ₦100,000 |
| Total to save | ₦2,100,000 |
| Paydays left before due date | 10 |
| Monthly amount | ₦210,000 |
If ₦210,000 a month is more than you can manage, you have three honest options: start earlier next year, look for a cheaper place before you are forced to, or ask the landlord whether part-payment is possible. Borrowing the gap at a high cost usually makes the next year harder.
Money left in your main account tends to be spent. Set the transfer for the day your salary lands, so the rent pot fills before anything else. If your income is irregular, use a percentage of each payment instead of a fixed amount, and check every quarter whether you are on track.
Our guide on how much to save each month for a goal explains how to adjust the monthly figure if you fall behind.
Rent money has a fixed date, so it suits savings you can lock until that date, as long as the lock ends before you need to pay. Two cautions apply. First, never lock the money past the due date, because breaking a fixed plan early can cost you the interest you were promised. Second, keep the total in an institution that is licensed and covered by deposit insurance. The NDIC raised its cover for microfinance bank depositors to ₦2 million and for commercial bank depositors to ₦5 million in 2024; check the current limit before you decide where large sums sit.
With headline inflation reported by the NBS at 14.63% for September 2026, rent saved in a non-earning account loses value while it waits. Interest will not usually match rent increases, but it reduces the gap. See fixed deposit vs savings account for the trade-offs.
In the Pryme app you can open a Naira Savings Box just for rent. A Fixed Box locks the money until a date you choose, which can be set just before the rent is due; a Flexible Box lets you withdraw if your plans change. Rates are shown in the app before you commit. Naira deposits are held by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank, licensed by the CBN and insured by the NDIC up to the applicable limit. If you open a Personal Account, the Personal Assistant can remind you on payday and prepare the transfer, but nothing moves until you approve it.
Add the rent, service charge, any fees and a 5 to 10% buffer, then divide by the paydays left before the due date. For example, ₦2.1 million over 10 paydays is ₦210,000 a month.

It can help, as long as the fixed period ends before the rent is due. Breaking a fixed plan early can mean losing some or all of the interest.
Talk to the landlord early about part-payment, consider a cheaper place, and avoid filling the gap with expensive short-term loans that make next year's rent harder.
