Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Renewing an IRP card online in Ireland: fee and timing

How online immigration permission renewal works in Ireland: the €300 fee, the 12-week window, current processing dates and card delivery times.

The short answer

If you live in Ireland you renew your immigration permission online with Immigration Service Delivery (ISD), up to 12 weeks before it expires. Most renewals cost €300, paid by credit or debit card when you submit and refunded if the application is rejected. After approval ISD emails you and posts the new IRP card, usually within 15 business days.

Who renews online

ISD's renewal page, updated on 19 October 2026, covers people who live in the Republic of Ireland and need to renew their registration permission. The first condition is simple: you must be in Ireland when you apply. ISD says you must currently be present in the State to be eligible to renew online. If you are on a long trip to Lagos when your card is due, plan the renewal around your return rather than trying to submit from Nigeria.

Each person applies on their own. ISD says family members who both need to renew must apply separately; there is no joint application for a couple or a household. If you and your spouse are both on permissions that expire in the same month, that means two applications, two sets of documents and, in most cases, two fees.

The fee

ISD gives the renewal fee as €300 for most permissions. Some permissions carry no fee, but the page does not list which ones, so assume €300 unless ISD tells you otherwise for your stamp. You pay during the online submission with a credit or debit card. If your application is rejected, ISD says the fee is refunded.

ItemWhat ISD says (19 Oct 2026)
Fee€300 for most permissions; some have no fee
PaymentCredit or debit card, during online submission
If rejectedFee refunded
Earliest you can applyUp to 12 weeks before your permission expires
Stamp 2 studentsWait until your course has started
Card deliveryPosted after a confirmation email, usually within 15 business days

If you are budgeting for a household, the arithmetic is easy to miss. Example: a couple both on permissions that cost €300 to renew pay €600 between them, plus the cost of any new passport if one is close to expiry. Build that into the month the renewals fall due rather than finding it on a card statement later.

When to apply

You can apply up to 12 weeks before your permission expires. ISD adds a useful point: a renewal runs from your current expiry date, so applying early does not shorten your permission. Students on Stamp 2 are the exception to applying early: they must wait until their course starts.

Example: if your permission expires on 15 January 2027, twelve weeks earlier is 23 October 2026. You could apply from that date, and the new permission would still run on from 15 January.

How long processing takes

ISD processes applications in order of submission date within each stamp category and publishes a table, updated weekly, of the dates it has reached. On the version of the page we read (updated 19 October 2026) the dates were:

StampProcessing applications submitted on
Stamp 1 and 1H24 August 2026
Stamp 1G25 August 2026
Stamp 2, 2A and 1A26 August 2026
Stamp 47 September 2026
All other categories28 September 2026

Read this as a queue, not a promise. In October 2026 a Stamp 1 application was being picked up roughly eight weeks after it was submitted, which is one reason applying near the start of your 12-week window makes sense. The table changes every week, so check ISD's page on the day you plan your application.

Documents and requests for more

  • A copy of your most recent Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card.
  • A copy of the biometric page of your current passport.
  • Scans or photos clear enough for an immigration officer to read; ISD links a fuller list of required documents for each permission type.

If ISD asks for more documents, act quickly. Its page says that if you do not respond to a request within 14 days, the application will be refused and closed. Resubmitted applications have their own queue; in October 2026 ISD was processing those from 30 September 2026. Keep your Nigerian passport valid well ahead of the renewal; a passport that expires mid-application adds a second process at the Embassy of Nigeria in Dublin, covered in renewing a Nigerian passport in Dublin.

Travel and work while you wait

ISD asks applicants not to request faster processing or re-entry visas for travel; these are considered only in real emergencies. Visa-required nationals who leave Ireland while the renewal is pending must apply for a 'D' entry visa abroad to come back. Non-visa-required nationals do not need an IRP card or visa to return, but should carry evidence of the submitted renewal. If you hold a Nigerian passport, check ISD's visa requirements before booking a December trip home.

Your work rights stay tied to your stamp. ISD's stamps page sets out, for example, that Stamp 1G graduates can work full time but cannot be self-employed, and that Stamp 4 holders can work without an employment permit. ISD also links a notice for employers about staff whose renewals are in progress, which is worth sending to HR if your employer asks for a current card.

What to check first

  1. Your permission's expiry date, and the date 12 weeks before it.
  2. That you will be in Ireland on the day you submit.
  3. That your passport is valid and you have clear scans of it and your current IRP card.
  4. ISD's weekly processing table for your stamp.
  5. Whether you need to travel in the next three months; if so, read ISD's travel guidance before you book.

Where Pryme fits

The renewal fee is paid by card in euro. If you keep part of your money in naira for family at home, a Pryme account holds EUR and NGN side by side, each with local account details, and Swap converts only when you choose, showing the rate and fee before you approve. You can open one from Ireland at /open; outside Nigeria, Pryme's services are provided through regulated partners.

Questions people ask

How much is IRP renewal in Ireland in 2026?

ISD says most permissions cost €300 to renew, paid by credit or debit card when you submit online. Some permissions have no fee. The fee is refunded if the application is rejected.

How early can I renew my IRP card?

Up to 12 weeks before your permission expires. The renewal runs from your current expiry date, so applying early does not cost you time. Stamp 2 students must wait until their course starts.

Can I renew my Irish permission from Nigeria?

Not online. ISD says you must be present in Ireland to renew online. Plan the application for a time you are in the country.

How long does the new IRP card take to arrive?

After ISD processes the application it sends a confirmation email and posts the card, usually within 15 business days. Processing itself follows a weekly-updated queue by stamp.
