Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

No card, no OTP, nothing for the buyer to type in. They transfer from the bank app they already use, and the money lands in the same account your agents are running — already matched to the order, already in your books.
We give the buyer a one-time account number. They transfer to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Two routes for Nigerian withholding tax taken from your fees: a credit in Spain or treaty relief in Nigeria, and why there is no services rate.
There are two routes. In Spain, Article 24 of the Spain–Nigeria agreement allows a deduction for income tax paid in Nigeria, capped at the Spanish tax on that income, for income Nigeria may tax under the agreement. In Nigeria, a treaty claim under FIRS Circular 2022/15 can stop the deduction at source. Because Article 14 gives Spain alone the right to tax most freelance fees, the Nigeria route is often the one that fits.
You invoiced a Nigerian company, it kept back 10% as withholding tax (WHT), and you have a receipt. Can you get that money back, or at least avoid paying tax twice? The answer depends on reading two documents together: Nigeria's withholding rules and the Spain–Nigeria double taxation agreement. This guide explains both. It is information, not tax advice; a gestor or asesor fiscal should review your case.
Under Nigeria's 2024 Withholding Tax Regulations, the payer issues the receipt, not the tax authority. Mondaq's overview says it should show your name, address and Tax ID, the nature of the payment, the gross amount, the amount deducted and the month. PwC's summary adds that you get credit for the deduction even if the customer did not pay it over, and a customer that issues receipts without remitting is itself liable. Ask for one receipt per payment and check the figures against your invoice.
People often look for a treaty rate for freelance fees. There is not one. The Spain–Nigeria agreement (signed 23 June 2009, published in Spain's BOE on 13 April 2015) caps Nigerian tax on dividends, interest and royalties, and PwC's Nigeria table lists Spain at 7.5% for those. For professional services the agreement works differently: Article 14 says a Spain resident's income from professional or other independent activities "shall be taxable only in that State" unless the person has a fixed base regularly available in Nigeria. For business profits, Article 7 gives the same result unless there is a permanent establishment. And there is no article on fees for technical services.
So for a freelancer working from Spain with no base in Nigeria, the treaty does not reduce the Nigerian rate; it removes Nigeria's right to tax the fee.
FIRS Information Circular 2022/15, the latest published guidance we found (issued before the NRS replaced FIRS), describes how a non-resident claims a treaty benefit:
On approval, a copy goes to your client as withholding agent. The circular is about applying the treaty position when paying; it is silent on refunds of tax already withheld. If tax has already been deducted, ask the NRS in writing how a refund is claimed, quoting Article 14. Doing the claim before the next payment is usually easier than chasing a refund.
Article 26 of the agreement provides a mutual agreement procedure: you may present your case to the tax authority of your state of residence within three years of the first notification of the action that results in tax not in line with the agreement.
Article 24 says that where a resident of one state has income which, "in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, may be taxed in the other Contracting State", the home state allows a deduction equal to the income tax paid there, but not more than the home-state tax on that income. Two consequences:
| Example figures | Amount |
|---|---|
| Royalty income from Nigeria, gross | €10,000 |
| Nigerian tax withheld at a 7.5% treaty rate | €750 |
| Spanish tax attributable to that income (example) | €2,500 |
| Credit allowed: the lower of the two | €750 |
| Spanish tax still due on that income | €1,750 |
Check: €2,500 less €750 is €1,750. If the Spanish tax on that income had been €600, the credit would stop at €600.
How the deduction is calculated in the first place is in will my Nigerian client deduct withholding tax? The Nigerian side of credit notes is explained on our Nigerian site at getting your WHT credit notes back.
With Pryme invoicing, the gross fee, WHT and net amount sit on one invoice, and the Compliance agent in a Business Account can track which clients have sent receipts. Verifiable statements from VerifyDoc.ai give your gestor a record that can be checked.
Published Nigerian guidance (FIRS Circular 2022/15) covers applying the treaty when paying, not refunds. Ask the NRS in writing how a refund is claimed, citing Article 14.
There is none. Article 14 makes professional income of a Spain resident taxable only in Spain unless there is a fixed base in Nigeria.
Article 24 allows a deduction for tax Nigeria may charge under the agreement, capped at the Spanish tax on that income. Whether it applies to fees Nigeria should not have taxed is a question for your gestor.
Under Article 26 a case must be presented within three years of the first notification of the action causing the problem.
