Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Private school fees in Enugu: termly ranges by tier

What private schools in Enugu charge per term, in labelled ranges by tier, plus the extra costs parents forget: levies, uniforms, books and transport.

The short answer

Enugu private school fees vary widely: neighbourhood nursery and primary schools may charge tens of thousands of naira a term, while premium schools in GRA, Independence Layout and similar areas can charge several hundred thousand. No authority publishes a fee table, so the ranges below are labelled examples; the only reliable figure is the school's own written fee schedule.

Why there is no official fee list

Private schools in Enugu set their own fees. The state regulates approval and standards, but it does not publish what each school charges, and schools revise fees, often at the start of a session in September. That is why two schools on the same street can differ by a factor of three. Parents compare by asking for a written breakdown, not a single number.

Labelled termly ranges by tier

These ranges are examples to help you place a school, not survey data. They are written for Enugu as at October 2026 and will not match every school.

Tier (example)What it usually looks likeExample tuition per term
Community / low-costSmall premises, mixed-age classes in some, often in Abakpa, Emene, Ugwuaji and outer layouts₦25,000 – ₦60,000
Mid-rangePurpose-built classrooms, regular staff, some extracurriculars; common in New Haven, Trans-Ekulu, Achara Layout₦70,000 – ₦180,000
Upper mid-rangeBetter facilities, smaller classes, ICT, buses₦200,000 – ₦400,000
Premium / international curriculumGRA, Independence Layout and similar; British or dual curriculum, boarding options₦450,000 and above

Secondary sections usually cost more than primary in the same school, and boarding adds a separate line for feeding and accommodation.

The extra costs that change the total

Tuition is rarely the whole bill. Ask for each of these in writing:

  • One-off fees: application form, entrance test, admission or registration, development levy.
  • Every term: PTA levy, ICT, lesson or extra classes, sports, examination fees.
  • Every session: uniforms (school, house and sportswear), textbooks and exercise books, insurance.
  • Optional but common: school bus, lunch, excursions, end-of-year party, graduation.
  • External exams: Common Entrance, BECE and WAEC or NECO registration, collected through the school in final years.

A worked example of a full year

Example only. One child in primary 3 at a mid-range school in Trans-Ekulu:

Item (example)CalculationAmount
Tuition₦120,000 × 3 terms₦360,000
PTA and ICT levies₦10,000 × 3 terms₦30,000
Uniforms and sportswearOnce a year₦35,000
Books and stationeryOnce a year₦40,000
School bus₦45,000 × 3 terms₦135,000
Total for the year₦600,000

In this example tuition is only 60% of the year's cost (₦360,000 of ₦600,000). The bus alone is more than a third of tuition. Families with two or three children should multiply carefully; some schools give a sibling discount, which you should ask about rather than assume.

How to compare schools fairly

  1. Ask each school for its full fee schedule for the session, signed or on letterhead.
  2. Add every line for the full year, not just first-term tuition.
  3. Ask how often fees were raised in the last three sessions and how much notice parents get.
  4. Ask whether fees can be paid in instalments, and whether there is a charge for that.
  5. Visit on a normal school day; look at class sizes, toilets, water and the state of the compound.
  6. Ask for the school's approval documents from the state ministry if you have any doubt.

Turning a termly bill into a monthly plan

Most families in Enugu are paid monthly, but fees fall due in three large lumps. Spreading the year's total over twelve months is the simplest way to avoid scrambling in September, January and April.

Example only. Using the ₦600,000 year above: ₦600,000 ÷ 12 = ₦50,000 a month. If the first-term bill (tuition ₦120,000, levies ₦10,000, uniforms ₦35,000, books ₦40,000 and bus ₦45,000, total ₦250,000) is due in September, a family that starts setting aside ₦50,000 a month in January will have ₦400,000 by the end of August, enough for first term with ₦150,000 left towards second term's ₦175,000.

  • First term is always the most expensive because uniforms and books land then.
  • Second and third terms in this example are ₦175,000 each (tuition, levies and bus).
  • If a younger child starts school next year, add their one-off admission costs to the plan now.

Paying fees

Pay into the school's official account, never a staff member's personal account, and keep the receipt for every payment. If you pay by bank transfer of ₦10,000 or more, a ₦50 stamp duty is deducted from the sender under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 from 1 January 2026, per Techeconomy's report. Interbank transfer fees are set by your bank within CBN rules; the CBN's April 2026 exposure draft proposed new bands, so check your own bank's current charge.

Where Pryme fits

Parents can set aside fees each month in a Naira Savings Box, and keep a verifiable receipt of each payment, generated with VerifyDoc.ai, in case of a dispute about what was paid. Spaces, where Loans on Spaces can be used, currently operates in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, not Enugu. See saving for school fees term by term and paying school fees in instalments.

Questions people ask

How much are school fees in Enugu private schools?

It depends on the tier. As labelled examples, low-cost schools may charge ₦25,000 to ₦60,000 a term and premium schools ₦450,000 or more. Ask each school for its written schedule.

What extra fees do Enugu private schools charge?

Common extras are admission and development levies, PTA, ICT, uniforms, books, bus, lunch and exam registration.

When do private schools in Enugu increase fees?

Most revise at the start of a new session, usually September. Ask how much notice parents get.

Can I pay school fees in instalments in Enugu?

Some schools allow it. Ask in writing whether there is a charge and what the dates are.
