Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

2018OjirehPrime Card

A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.

2020Microfinance bank

PrymeSolid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Banking how-tos

Polaris Bank customer care: numbers, email and escalation

Polaris Bank Yes Center numbers and email as printed on its own pages, how to log a complaint properly and when to escalate to the CBN.

The short answer

Polaris Bank's customer service is the Yes Center: 0700-7652747 (0700-POLARIS), 0806 988 0000, 01-448 2100 and 01-270 5850, and email yescenter@polarisbanklimited.com, as printed on the bank's own pages. Head office is 3 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. If a complaint is not resolved within two weeks, the CBN Consumer Protection Department is the next step.

Fake "customer care" accounts are one of the commonest ways Nigerians lose money, so the first rule is to use only contacts the bank itself publishes. Every number and address below was read on Polaris Bank's own website in October 2026. We have not listed social media handles or WhatsApp numbers because we could not confirm them on a Polaris page.

Head office3 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos*833# page

The *833# page also prints a number as "0700 75932265", which differs from the 0700-7652747 line elsewhere on the site. Use 0700-7652747 first. The landlines are printed in the older 01- Lagos format; if one does not connect, try the 0700 or mobile number rather than a number you find on a social media post.

Which channel to use for what

  • Card lost or stolen: call first for speed, then confirm by email. Polaris's USSD page lists *833*4# for hotlisting a card from your registered line; see how to block a Polaris card.
  • Failed or wrong transfer: call, then send an email with the details so there is a written record; our guide to reversing a wrong Polaris transfer covers the CBN rules.
  • Forgotten USSD PIN: the *833# page directs you to the Yes Center or a branch.
  • Statements, reference letters, restrictions: email works well because you can attach ID and a signed request.
  • Anything needing a signature or original ID: your branch.

How to log a complaint that gets resolved

  1. Write it down, even if you called first. Put your full name, account number (never your PIN, password or OTP), phone number and a one-line summary in the subject.
  2. Give the facts: date and time, amount, channel (app, USSD, ATM, POS), the transaction reference or session ID, and what you want done.
  3. Attach evidence: screenshot of the debit alert, receipt, statement extract.
  4. Ask for a complaint reference number and note who you spoke to.
  5. Follow up in the same email thread so the history stays together.

Escalating to the CBN

The CBN's Consumer Protection Department asks customers to complain first to the bank where the issue arose and to allow two weeks for a response. If it is not resolved, you can write to the Director, Consumer Protection Department, Central Bank of Nigeria, Central Business District, Abuja, and deliver the letter at the CBN head office or any CBN branch. The CBN page says to include:

  • Your name, address, phone number and email.
  • The institution's name and your banking details (never your PIN or password).
  • The date and history of the transaction and the amount claimed.
  • Supporting documents and proof that you first reported it to the bank.

Typical timelines to expect

Polaris does not publish service-level times for complaints on the pages we opened. Two outside rules give a frame. The CBN's complaints page asks customers to allow the bank two weeks before escalating. For transfers sent in error, the CBN's 2018 regulation on instant interbank transfers, as summarised by Mondaq, has the receiving bank place a lien for up to two weeks while it seeks the recipient's consent. Ask the Yes Center for a reference number and the expected resolution date, and diary a follow-up for that day.

Visiting a branch

Take a valid ID (national ID, international passport, driver's licence or voter's card), your account number, and printed evidence. For changes to your phone number, signature or mandate, the branch is often the only route because the bank must see you and your documents. Ask the customer service officer to stamp a copy of your written complaint as received.

Writing from abroad

If you live outside Nigeria, email is usually the most practical channel. Send from the email address registered on the account, attach a scan of your ID, and state a phone number with its country code and the hours you can be reached.

Before you call: what to check first

  • That the number is one of those above, not from a comment or direct message.
  • Your transaction reference or session ID, from the receipt or app history.
  • Your account number and the phone number registered on it.
  • A short written summary you can paste into the follow-up email.

If the issue is a frozen account, read Polaris account restricted or PND first, because the bank will ask for specific documents.
